Getting right to it, can one of the Jmods add more clan sections for OSRS?

As you can see, RS3's clan area has multiple subsections for Specialist, skilling, social and PVM clans.

Meanwhile over at OSRS there is only 1 section and cramming every type of clan in to 1 section just makes it kind of annoying to find the type of clan one may look for should they wish to look for one.

Dunno how long it'd take to add such sections, hopefully not too long and of course if you anyone can get a jmod to read the thread that'd be nice too.

Thanks for reading.
Now this is what I call a brilliant signature

Surprised this isn't already a thing.

Jagex certainly needs to majorly update the entire forums and maybe separate the two games with their own forums also. It is a cluttered mess and has been for years.

There were proposals back in July to revamp the OSRS forum sections, with the latest coming from Mod Gambit in August. The original thread with the proposals got eaten by chewy, though, and Gambit's thread is nearing on page 50 as well.

Perhaps a wandering
Neriphyra
or
Nick
might be able to chase this up with the OSRS Community Managers? :)

Sure thing! I'll pass it on to the team and see what the word is. :)

I’d go one step further and give 07 its own forum page to expand in, rather than sticking it near the bottom of a general RS one. That would also make clear which sections are for RS3 and which are for 07, and would allow declutter the list of sections a bit. -

I'm on the fence with this.

While I do think it would benefit both communities by having an option to switch game forums similar to the way you switch language forums, I also see how it will further divide the forum community and traffic. While the situation I'm about to reference was a bit different, something like this was tried already when communities were split by total level. Of course, there was an "Everyone" community in the mix, but I think everything struggled a bit after that.

Not to mention but it would almost feel as if one community is annexed from the other, though obviously they'd be free to swap between the forums as they could the games.

I would probably be 100% all for it if not for that little issue because they're essentially different games after all and not like Old School is a sub-game or branch of RuneScape in any way. Based on, yes, but not related.

I guess the bottom line for me is that it would be good for the game communities to have their own forum channels. Like I said, I see it working similar to the language forums so it's not like anything new would have to be written. My reservations are looking at the forums as one big family of fans and enthusiasts of all things RuneScape and then dividing that up.

That is true spearmint.
I think I have a solution to that in another thread:

I think one huge page of forum sections can be pretty confusing for new forum users, so I figured I'd propose some changes to the RSOF layout, along with a couple of other tweaks.

FORUM HOME PAGE

I think that could give the best of both worlds - clearer sections + less forum activity split due to the shared lounge mainly

Ahh, yes, I've seen your thread and I do think that's a good suggestion. I like the idea of giving Old School the space it needs without splitting them off completely, so you reach that compromise very easily.

For the clans issue OP raises, I also don't see any reason to not support more Old School clans sections. It could help keep things more organized for both players running/maintaining clans and those looking for a clan.
