Actually, I understand more than you think. I know the original meaning.

Calling certain skills "buyable" is a means of insulting those that do them. In fact that's the entire purpose of the term "buyable" in relation to those skills. Pkers have used it as an insult for over a decade. Everything that wasn't pking was either a buyable or a botable skill. The insinuation is that those that do anything other than combat pays to have their game played by a bot or pay real life money for. It was always a means that pkers could put down those that had higher skill totals. Back then, pkers rarely had more than 700 total levels and thought it was "sick" that people would "waste" valuable pking time to get their levels up like that. They assumed everyone that worked hard on the high score list was a cheater.

So if whether or not you know the beginning meaning, you are perpetuating the belief that those that do non combat skills are "wasting" their time.

As for rc, perhaps you could do so some time ago and do really well, but the best way to do it now you cant buy anything, you have to mine the dense ess and chip it, then turn it in to blood or soul runes. Not a buyable skill at all.
what does pking have to do with this thread?

I explained it. They were the ones that originally created the term. By 2003, pkers were claiming there were three types of skills, botted (resource gathering), buyable, or "real" (attack, strength, magic and range, sometimes defense) skills. They stated that anyone that did buyable for anything other than to get money for pk was a waste of time, and were cheaters.

Pkers still claim anyone that isn't skilling in the wild is a cheat.

I don't want to derail this thread, so this is the last I will comment on the origin of the term.
Vote no to all pvm/pker updates to punish them for spite voting skills.

Provide proof. I've never seen this. I started this game a week ago and have never seen a PKer claim this.

Fletching.

I'm working really hard to reach the coveted 99 Fletching but I've burnt myself out on the skill pretty hard.

It will probably take a while for me to build up the strength to get the next 11(?) 12(?) levels necessary to reach it.

(For reference I have no actual clue what you mean by "buyable" but I'll still share my favorite skill regardless.)
