Hydra Lamps return to Treasure Hunter from 00:00 Game Time on 17th January until 23:59 Game Time on 22nd January, bringing XP in two skills at once.

Hydra lamps are very similar to smouldering lamps, giving you regular XP in a skill and immediately awarding up to the same amount of your stored Bonus XP. But there's one very interesting difference.

They award XP and (where applicable) Bonus XP in two skills rather than one! Each skill will receive 60% of the total XP it'd earn from a smouldering lamp – that's 120% in total!

Grab some Hydra Lamps and enjoy!

What is Treasure Hunter?

Treasure Hunter is playable from within RuneScape, allowing players to use Keys to claim in-game items as prizes. These range from useful resources to rare weapons and exclusive gear.

Playing Treasure Hunter is simple - click the treasure chest icon that pops up when you log in. If you've not played before, just follow the on-screen guide.

Everyone gets at least one Key per day, and RuneScape members get two. You can earn more Keys while playing the game, or stock up by redeeming Bonds.

If you'd like more, you can also buy Keys on the website, or by clicking 'Buy Keys' within the Treasure Hunter interface in-game.

You should bring back the Gemerator, Starfury, Sunfury, and Grotesque promotion. :)

So what, three promotions since the start of the year? And two of them have been the overpowered blatant XP selling ones. So much for promises not to destroy the game, Jagex. The greedy actions of the MTX team such as these are why the main RS game has such a bad reputation online and why an outdated copy of the game enjoys the good press.

I personally don't mind paying some money to help with XP but it would be nice to actually win a fair bit of it for £70 worth of keys I got hardly anything useful, I want immediate XP help not the stupid small prismatic stars that fill up 3/4 of the possible wins.
