Unsolvable E-mail Problem

Alright everyone, here we go. I created my account on mobile through Game Center. I followed this link ( https://support.runescape.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360001528005-Add-a-login-email-to-Game-Center-accounts- ) to add an email to my account. I tried logging in on desktop and got an “invalid credentials” message. So, I went to “change my password,” but I was CERTAIN I knew my password. So, I first tried changing my password to what I thought my password already was, and guess what? I got the message saying “you cannot change your password to this, because it is already your current password.” SO I already had my correct email and password, BUT could not log in. I requested to then change my password. I went through the steps to change my password and verified it through my email, and it was successfully changed. I went to log in with my new password, but still got “invalid credentials.” I did this 2 or 3 times just to make sure, and still no luck.

I cannot even log into the OSRS website. The only way I am typing to you now, or the only way I can access my account settings is to log in on my mobile, go to my account settings tab in game, click “inbox,” and get redirected to my OSRS account inbox on the browser on my iPhone. No other way works.

PLEASE help me, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to log in on a desktop. I also have no idea how to contact Jagex support, and all of their links are unhelpful as they do not address my problem and/or I’ve already followed them.

UPDATE: I went through the links on the support page where I know my registered email, but not my log in email. Jagex then sent me the login account names that are tied to that email. It seems as if my old (10+ years) account name is linked to my email as my login email. SO the registered email for this account is “blocked” behind my old RS username.

My email that I’m referring to is ALSO the same email I use for Apple ID (Game Center). How in the world do I fix this problem and get the log-in email for my account I am currently using? It seems as if it is blocked by an account that is not in use, and has never been in use during the mobile era.

PS- it is absolutely ridiculous that Jagex/OSRS Support does not provide you an email to open a support ticket. This issue would get resolved in 5 minutes via email, but instead I’ve spent 3 days trying to figure it out.

Hi BRabbit25.

First of all, any number of Runescape accounts can have the same registered email. It's only the login name that needs to be unique.

Have you tried logging in to the website Account page with the new email login you added to your Game Center created Runescape account? Click the Account link, top right of this page, and try logging in.

Does it show the correct display name towards the top of the Account page?

I know many usernames can have the same registered email, but as I’ve said, that’s not the issue. When I first created my mobile account through Game Center I used my same email to be both the login and registered email. Now that I have found out my old RS username is attached as the login username for the email, my account I currently use (mobile one) seems to be blocked from ever logging in outside of mobile.

When I go to log in on OSRS website, or “click the account link,” it just says error and invalid username/password. This is clearly not the case as I’ve outline through my previous posts.... I definitely have the correct information.

PS ONCE AGAIN - it is utterly ridiculous Jagex won’t provide an email for support. This issue is a simple mistake that should be fixed easily.

Well since you already have one account with that Login email , as you also used to your game center account , then would i believe that you need to use another email as your login email for your game center account.

If you are using Gmail , then do i believe it do not matter if you use 123 after your normal email.

Problem is that you used a Email login which already being used and that is why you get that message saying it is wrong.

Don't know why you didn't get a invalid message when you did it , and that is maybe something Jagex and Android/Apple need to look into.
Saw another for some time ago , having the same problem and that player fixed it by doing it again with a new email and that worked to my understanding.

I am not familiar with Game center accounts , since i dont have one.

When you changed the password (mentioned in your opening post) were you logged in through your mobile access during the pw change process?
It sounds like you must have been because you could not access the account via the pc.

So, you retrieved the forgotten logins and it showed your 10 year old account.
It sounds like the old account has a 'username' login not an email login but it is registered to your email (which it should be).

I am wondering if you maybe typo'd your email when you set it as the login for your Game Centre account.
If this is the case, you would need manual assistance from Jagex to retrieve the login you set.
Go to the Forgotten login support page and use this navigation: Still stuck? -> No -> No -> Maybe we can help.
This takes you to a form to request a manual search for the login of the account.
