EDIT:
With the Mining and Smithing Rework finally HERE, let us all HOPE that construction will be the next line of attack. I have compiled a loverly assortment of Ideas that would/could be very useful to veteran and future players alike. Please, Read Below and tell me what you think! Don't be shy, speak your mind! Runescape's evolving, so lets get other skills on that roll!!

Construction - One of the most intensively boring skills to train, and quite useless excluding the Chapel, Study and Workshop. The other rooms are quite pointless and only for style really, and the fact that building in these said rooms serves utterly no generalized purpose to game play or the mechanics of our daily lives in runescape. I have a few Ideas that have been suggested over the years (some relative to the other suggestions players have made over the many years this game has been active.

The general purpose of this thread is to take many ideas across the remaining player base and combine, refine, and add on to what we already have. While these suggestions might seem outlandish, that's the whole point. Construction is a near worthless skill that we spend countless hours making planks, spamming the same object for hours upon hours, and finally leveling just to create something else that we really have no use for. Sure, construction was ultimately created for the Roleplaying community, but who Role Plays in runescape these days?...an extremely small crowd. My ideas are for the sole purpose of expanding the skill, making use out of the majority of our rooms and then some!

Please be advised that everything I post in this thread, while my original thoughts, may be similar to other players suggestions over the years and I do not claim ANY idea that appears on this thread, is purely original, so don't feel offended if I post something remotely close to your or a friends idea.

"For Show Rooms"
Dining Room, Throne Room, Games Room, Combat Room, Parlor, Skill Hall.

These rooms are mainly for the role-playing community, and serve utterly no purpose to the players other than show-boating. Especially the Skill and Quest Halls. Sure, they have SOME utility, but to be perfectly honest with you...the utility isn't worth the effort to max out the said rooms. These rooms, while "useless" in my eyes do serve some purpose...but to the avid player going for Max/Comp(t), not so much and that should be changed. I will leave the ideas of what could be done with these rooms, up to the community. As for the skill hall, I have some ideas.

Hall - Skill Room

Castle Wars Armor
- Automatic Passive granted to players who wish to play castle wars of the current armor on display. Will also provide a 50% boost to silver tickets win/lose/draw.
Standard Armor Stand
- Bonus will apply only to Rune Armor, but once the armor has been placed, players can draw off the armor once a day to increase their defense level by 24 for 30 minutes or until they are killed. This bonus should prevent the use of any defense boosting potion until the buff has worn off.
Mounted Heads
- Aside from chatting with said mounted head, players can also receive a 100% damage boost against said monster that is mounted on their wall, once a day, for 1 hour. This bonus should stack with any and all other passive bonuses that can be applied.
Fishing Trophy
- A permanent Passive should be given for increased catch rate or quantity caught per attempt. The player may choose one bonus, and can not change said bonus for a week, regardless if the said mounted fish is destroyed and another type created in it's place.
Rune Case
- Grants a passive to create an additional amount of any type of rune placed in the case (up to 28 rune or pure essence, level multiplier will apply to these 28.

Work Shop

Inventors Workbench

We SERIOUSLY need one in our own home. A 5 tier workbench should be able to be made with different levels and focus on which type of engineering we're currently working with.
With each tier increase, it should require LESS common and uncommon components to create items, but with a sacrifice...-50% of the original experience gained from using an over-world workbench.

Work Bench

With a Tier 5 workbench, we should be able to create a larger variety of items found across runescape. A jewelers furnace should also be added to this workbench so we can create a variety of jewelry in the comfort of our own home (a little outlandish, but I'll explain why). Any jewelry we create from the workbench should automatically be enchanted with extra charges, but become untradable. Certain jewelry can not be created at this workbench, and a little common sense goes a long way here.

Armor Stand
- With the known passive of reducing the cost of repairing degradable armor already used, another benefit should come into play...said armor and weaponry should gain an additional 10% of "charges" when repaired in our POH, for an additional cost and perhaps some special materials from invention could be required to keep things...balanced? Barrows armor should require an Undead component for the increased charges for example.

Heraldry Stand & Crafting Table
- These pieces of equipment in our POH already has some unique passives and skill modifiers to it, and nothing really needs to change here. Anyone wanna take a crack at this one?

Tool Stores
- These...annoying things...have been sorely outclassed by our tool-belt. There are many ideas one could share with this aspect of the POH, but I think I will let the community take a crack at this one.

Study Tweaks

Globes
- With what we have already available in our study, there really isn't much more we can do with this room...HOWEVER! With the Large Orrey we choose to place in here, we should be allowed to "scribe" teleports to the unique locations around runescape that we get from Treasure Trails...and even scribe in particular equipment's teleporting abilities to give that object some great use.

Lecterns
- We should be able to create a new lectern that allows us to utilize everything in that particular type.
Celestial Eagle Lectern - Create ALL teleport tabs as well as a few "new locations"?
Centennial Demon Lectern - Create ALL enchantment tabs, along with some particular Normal Magic Defensive Spells

Crystal Ball

A new type of crystal ball should be given to us...to greatly reduce the costs of particular elemental changes...and create untradable combination staves that can not be alchemized either.
Worldstone Crystal
- Will reduce the cost of changing one staff's element to another by 90%. Will allow the creation of combination staves that are uniquely tied to the player who created them. However, creating these said staves will degrade after 1,000 uses and can be created by using 2 combination runes or 4 elemental runes (which will gamble what type of elemental combination you will get). These staves will have NO combat stats what-so-ever, and any spell cast with this staff will grant NO exp what so ever.

WallChart
Each Tier of wall chart should give us an indication of where a particular D&D mob will spawn, where the next Warbands camp will appear, or a flash mob, etc. The location shouldn't be exact, and it will give players a reprieve from wandering into an ambush as it were.

Bedroom

So...aside from being able to change our appearance and give our butler his own "resting space"...the bedroom is utterly useless. Let's change that shall we?

Bed
- Taking a "rest" in a Gilded 4-Poster bed should boost our agility level and success rate while doing agility courses or feats. The agility level boost should increase our level by 20% of our current level, and the overall success rate for completing agility based tasks should be a hidden 50%. This boost can only be applied for 1 hour, once a day.

Dresser
- Poking around in our stash of clothing...is well...just that. Poking around to change our basic appearance. Nothing special to change here.

Fireplace
- Should remain lit as long as the player remains in the house, and provide a continuous stream of exp as long as the player continues to stoke it. The exp given should be equal to that of stoking a bonfire, but at a much more rapid pace, similar to that of cleaning creating potions. (means a faster way to train Firemaking at long last)

With the already available functions of the other furniture in the room, there really isn't anything worthwhile to change. However, with our servants bedroom...if it's maxed out...the servant should be able to carry a larger amount of items to and from your bank, in large quantities.

Any ideas to greatly improve the functionality of the bedroom, are greatly appreciated and welcomed. Keep it in the "standard gameplay mechanics" lane so to speak.

Garden

Trees
- Depending on the type of trees that we plant, we should gain a passive and knowledge on that tree type...preventing us from "felling" said tree type rather quickly, and providing a boost to finding nests which stacks with the rabbits foot, as well as allowing faster cutting of logs from said tree type. This bonus will only apply to the type of tree planted, and will remain active permanently until the trees are removed. This bonus will NOT apply to Ivy, or any trees planted by the player, and the creation of multiple gardens will not apply a bonus to all tree types, only to the tree of the highest woodcutting level will the passive apply to, and will not stack if more than one tree type is placed.

Small Plants
- Of course, these are for general showmanship of our entry way into our POH, but we could instead of what already have available to plant, we should be given the option to "relocate" flowers that we plant in allotments for much more show, and we can uproot these plants at anytime once a day for a bundle (up to 5) of that flower type. Only one Small Plant can be harvested daily, and the creation of more than one garden will not allow multiple harvests.

Big Plants
- Similar standing point of above, but with various Bush Types we are able to grow. We can harvest triple the amount of berries or leaves for no exp. Only one Big Plant can be harvested daily, and the creation of more than one garden will not allow multiple harvests.

Centerpiece

Decorative Rock - Provide a Non-Aggression bonus for 1 hour in Living Rock Caverns, as long as you're fishing, or near a water source. This will apply once a day. (for skillers & low level players)
Pond - Provide a speed boost to Net and Big Net Fishing for 1 hour once a day.
Imp Statue - Provide a passive to catch imps and implings, with higher success and no magical beads for imps permanently.

Formal Garden

Centerpiece

No bonuses of any kind should be applied.

Small/Big Plants 1 & 2

The same bonuses as stated in Garden's functionality should apply to what we can readily plant. Sunflower and Roses should be a new ingredient to a custom made potions to aid hunter? Scentless potion can be made into a Potent Scent for larger prey with crushed roses, and as for sunflowers, we can utilize them to lure in birds of various types with higher success rate (28 uses per flower)

Hedging
- Hedging should grow wild per day, and we must preen them to keep them looking nice. Per successful preen, we should gain a chunk of farming EXP (up to 12 ticks) per day.

Fencing
- Fencing should deteriorate over the course of the month, and similar to that of working on our statues, we should be able to repair them for a sizable amount of exp. Up to 20 times the exp awarded for initially creating them, and repairing them will require 50% less materials than what was needed when created.

Any other ideas or suggestions are most welcome here, so please feel free to chime in!

New "Room" - Farm Land

(3x1 space required, Level 80 Construction, 85 Farming and 10M gp required to create)
To create each plot, it's going to require the following materials PER PLOT
4 soft clay, 4 limestone bricks, 8 super compost, 4 pot plants (filled), 1 plant cure, 1 insecticide, 6 buckets of water, 1500k gp

This has been suggested once before, and I'm bringing it back to the light with a little more detail. Why does the farm land require the length of 3 rooms across? because of all the plots we can put into play here.

Allotments
- Four plots, 8x2 in line.
Flower Patch
- One Flower Patch 3x3 for White Lilies Only.
Herb Patch
- Three Patches 3x3 in line with allotments.
Bush Patch
- Three Patches 4x4 in line with allotment & herb.
Tree Patch
- Two Normal Tree Patches, One elder, One crystal.
Mushroom Patch
- Two Patches 3x3, One Mort Myre, One Morchella.
Hops Patch
- Two 4x3 hops patches, one for hops, the other for vineyards.

The layout can be however jagex sees fit, but I would prefer them to be in uniformity so that while we harvest and check the health of our plants and such, we can jump from one to the next. As far as protecting our Trees and Bushes, we could pay our servant to tend to the farm lands OR!...we could have a new servant that tends directly to the farm land itself. There will be no tool leprechaun in our POH, so bringing everything we need to tend to the garden would be advised...given, everything's already on our tool belt, so...enough said there.

The Total Cost to create your own farm land will be 34,000,000 gp! THIS, would be worth the effort, and seeing as how we require a HIGH level of construction and farming to even create this lovely addition to our POH.

New "Plot" - Ore Viens

Self Explanatory really, as we have special veins throughout the wonderful land of runescape. For this "plot" to be added to our PoH, quite a few conditions need to be met...and a lot of quests need to be done.

Requirements

Dwarven Questline Completed - Must own at least One of Each Gilded Pickaxe (except crystal)
Gnome Questline Completed
Must Own a Royal Multi-cannon and have at least 50% "reputation" in Artisans Workshop

Dimensions will be 3x2, require 80 construction, 80 crafting, 92 mining, 92 smithing, 50 invention, 50M GP, and patience to be built. Can NOT be built near the Farm Lands, Aquarium, or any Dungeon Squares in your POH.

By Patience, I do mean...Patience. Once you meet all the requirements, and start to produce your POH Mining Plot, you will have to hire a Dwarven Engineer, a Gnome Engineer, and a well rounded "inventor" to help you prospect your land. Once you have everyone and everything you require to start searching for ore, you will have to wait to receive word that they have discovered some ore! But there's a catch...you will NOT be able to mine it yourself. The company you acquired will do it for you...for a cost. Similar to the way our Kingdoms work, you have to pay your diggers each day, and they're asking for an exuberant amount, which you know you will pay (250k a day).

The type of ore and secondary discovered per week should be random. Copper - Runite will be able to be discovered, along with sand stone and granite. Seeing as how our POH are in a temporal space, the magic should shuffle what's found weekly. Considering it will cost us 1.75M gp a week to run this mining operation, GP will sink out of the game rather quickly, especially when the reworks hit! With the reworks, perhaps the new ores can also be discovered if this gets put into play?
