In the FH thread, when you report an issue, your post is not automatically hidden, which can lead to possible vindictive behaviors toward you. Yesterday, I reported a person, but I though he could be a dangerous individual so I had to use the FMR thread to have my post hidden. I was told to use my alt and I said none of my alt had enough levels to post and I was told to buy bonds....

.... I think reporting an issue on the RSOF is doing a good deed for the community and it should not cost anything to do so. Imagine it cost you money to call the police because someone's in danger.

In the FMR thread, when you post, your post is hidden but the FMR thread is only for issues related to Fmods.

I'd like to open a discussion on the possibility of anonymous reports.

If a forum user is "dangerous" on the internet he is also dangerous IRL. TBH, you have 2 choices:

(1) Consider him also dangerous IRL but not just on the internet so you better report him to the authorities, or

(2) He is just some pixels who are not danagerous at all in real life. In that case, just use FH and proceed from there.

Similar questions to yours regarding "harassment" have already been asked on this thread, which is actually the right place for your question:

Hi Krystelle,

I've thought about this quite a few times; I agree, anonymity in FH would be ideal.
Unfortunately I don't think it's possible to make posts only visible to FMods at the moment due to the way forum permissions are set up.

Whether that will ever change, I have no idea.
I'm sorry that's not very helpful, but wanted you to know it's something we'd like too.
Teh nihgt is dark and ful of erorrs

If you think someone is dangerous in real life you can use the highlight feature to send a report.

With how the forums are currently set up, I don't believe fmods are able to view hidden posts, or at least not in threads where posts are hidden automatically.

Last i checked, i thought fmods were able to hide posts as they do sometimes when ppl break a rule?

Thus how cant they read posts that are hidden if they themselves can hide posts?

Specifically, they can't read posts that are automatically hidden, as only jmods can read those posts, as Rooh has confirmed for us. Further speculation isn't really relevant to this thread.

Maybe they could add post numbers to each post that way they don't have to refer to you by name and they can keep their privacy.

FMR currently is like @bob91902 blah blah , @james1421 ok noted, etc.
Instead it could go post #38 blah blah, post #39 ok noted, etc.

Forum help would be able to follow the same thing I suppose. Post #53 you want the title changed to x? instead of @steve2353 you want the title changed to x?

They'd have to find a way for fmods to be able to see for forum help posts like the others said if they went auto hidden. Permissions issues.

I do agree on anonymity for reporting. I dislike others being able to see your name as you report. People actually comment on others reports at times sometimes the ones they are reporting too. I think it should be an anoymous system to stop backlash and drama.

So they can of course read hidden post, but not on the threads set up by Jmods to auto hide.

Also it is "relevant" as the very topic is talking about making posts on FH hidden.

Plus you're the one who brought it up so.
