My apologies if this has already been answered but I couldn't find anything on it.

We know that the Elder Gods power is in relation to their age. For example: Ful was born second and Bik was born fourth. Ful is more powerful than Bik.

What i'm wondering is, are the Elder Gods the same every Cycle? This Cycle, Wen is the third most powerful. But in a previous one, could the 'Wen' of that Cycle fourth strongest?

In one Cycle could the 'Mah' be stronger than the 'Jas'? Or does it go by their abilites?
As in: Since Ful is Constancy, is she always the second strongest?

That brings another point to mind. If each Cycle they are different, could the universes be different? If the Elder God of that power could be weaker in a different Cycle, could Universes be completely different from ours?

I may be completely wrong due to my lack of information, so if i am please inform me. :) I tend to lurk the Lore Forum daily and this is one of my first posts here. Please give me some feedback :)

Didn't consider Ful, but I actually do have a theory regarding Wen. As she represents Inversion, I was wondering if Wen actually reverses the order of birth each cycle. For example, whereas Jas was born first in this cycle, Jas was born last in the previous one. The reason Wen is doing this is because, with each cycle, Wen eliminates one of her siblings, so given enough Great Revisions, Wen will actually be the only Elder God. And yes, this would mean that Wen would be responsible for Mah being stillborn.

Interesting theory, but I don't see it as very likely unfortunately.

It would seem to me that Jas is the one who is all powerful every cycle.

I think they degenerate. At first Jas was septagonal with 7 points, now is 6. And so on, Mah was trinagle and sixth elder god had spiral or something. Now it's tier down, Mah has corrupted nonfunctional form and sixth one is so weak and with almost none (or none at all) anima so she doesn't even have a form at all. I'd guess that's why they were so crazy about having enough anima.

Allow me to clear things up with a quote from FulKra, encountered during Heart of Stone:

The makers of worlds. 'Elder god' is a term of your creation. Though your mind is insufficient to comprehend them in their entirety. Ful was my maker. A flawed and wretched thing, even now as she dies beneath me. Feasting on the Anima Mundi until she is born anew.

Notice the italicized part. What I seem to gather from this is that the Elder Gods, as they sleep within this cycle's "perfect" world, slowly die. However, while they are dying, they also siphon Anima off the world, recreating themselves in a new body, using the Anima as a power source to create this new form for themselves.
The "eggs" that we see in Freneskae's Elder Halls are where they store the new form until they have gathered the Anima required to be reborn into that form. At which point they then travel to the epicenter of Anima flow, drain enough to sustain the new bodies long enough to create, go to sleep on, and siphon off a new world with the proper Anima to be given new bodies once again.

Oh wow. Completely forgot about this thread haha!

Tlamovec, that's a pretty interesting theory! That being the reason for yearning for Anima is pretty neat. Though I doubt it'll be the case. Cool theory though :)

Sepulchre, I agree that is pretty plausible. But that wasn't what I was asking. What I was asking was, are the Elders always the same each cycle. Is Jas always the eldest sister and Wen the third. Or in a previous Cycle, has Jas been the third and Wen been the first.

Well then, allow me to answer your question as best I can.
I think it's on a 'first-come-first-serve' basis. Whoever gets there first gets the most Anima, and becomes the "strongest" of the Elders on that cycle. That would mean Mah was the last one there last time, and was eliminated.. "eliminated..." now that's interesting. Maybe they're just trying to see who can be the last Elder standing..
As for what the "order" of which Elder is strongest in a particular cycle means for the creations.. I'm not sure. I would assume that whatever that "strongest" Elder God is associated with would be more prevalent in the creations of that cycle. Wen is associated with ice and water, so perhaps the cycle where she is strongest would have worlds with more water or more frigid climates? Ful is associated with fire, so perhaps worlds in a cycle where She is the strongest would have more volcanoes or lava?

Slightly off-topic, but wasn't it said that the Elders sleep beneath their respective elements?
For instance, Ful sleeps under the Karamja Volcano.

What I'm getting at is,
if Tumeken's sacrifice created the Kharidian desert,
then why would Jas choose to sleep under what was once a lush, green, fertile land?
