My email was recently compromised, it’s currently locked and I’m in the process of recovering it And trying to have my recovery email on osrs changed, but I was wondering while I get this done is my account security lowered? I still have the authenticator for my account. I have already lost a lot with losing my email I don’t want to lose my RuneScape account too

It is hard for us to completely assure you that your account is safe right now.
Is your Authenticator still active? While it remains active and while the registered email is locked, your hijacker won't be able to access your email to switch Authenticator off. However they may know the current password of your RS account and, while the email is locked/until you set a new email, you are unable to change the password.
If your Authenticator has been disabled, then your RS account may be quite vulnerable right now.
I have been taking necessary steps creating a new secure email with lots of recovery information, and I’m trying to revert all my previous info to that email. Hoping I will be able to add my RuneScape account to that list ASAP. I am looking forward in taking the necessary steps to achieve this.
I am happy to know that with the account locked the authenticator remains up.
Just a friendly reminder to anyone who may read this, update your email account (or any account for that matter) information regularly.
I wish I had a way to contact whoever was involved in this process because I would have to say thank you over and over... I’ve dealt with some non helpful people, companies and businesses over the past 24 hours dealing with my email and alternate being hacked, but their help allowing me to secure my account couldn’t have made me happier.
Very pleased with the Jagex team and I’m looking forward to keeping a secure account in the future.
