Interesting. :)

Love the idea and most of the rewards are great as well but i see a potential problem that may happen..

- 1st (winners!) - Access to the Crystal avatar,
clan stickied thread in recruitment
and 12% xp boost/100% faster capping, and a specific player title that displays their clan name for a month.

Having any sort of clan thread stickied in a clan recruitment forum is a bad idea as it will give an unfair advantage to other clans trying to recruit/and or favoritisms. This has happened with many groups in the past within the events forum as well as dungeoneering back in the day. Some of these stuck threads were forgotten about and held the sticky once the time period ended on them. I am wanting things to remain fair for the various clans that use the forums and recruit actively, I speak on behalf of several clans that have already contacted me already about this concern.

perks of wining it tho, if your scared you cant recruit cos of a stickied thread, u need to step up ur game and win :P

My clan is not participating for the reasons i have highlighted, If you read my post carefully i mentioned that there was several other clans that had the same concerns. For this reason we will not be participating as we do not want to give ourselves an unfair advantage over other clans that are recruiting within the forums. :)

Why don't you make an event where all players start at 1 point and has checkpoints over most part of runescape surface?

So they can use Surge magic ability, click wherever they want, even use some pvp actions to block other players at the risk of losing time and be left behind. Loadestones teleports, fairigings and any other kind of teleport is allowed but since there will be plenty of checkpoins people will be only able to use them in very few and rare ocasions, only the more knowledged in runescape could have this advantage. Agility shortcuts should also be arround in the race route so players with the required skills could use them if they remember where they are.

In other worlds, a race where REAL PLAYER WORLD SKILLS are implied, or implied more.

Also, in a race would be nice to see the name of the first 10 players on top of the screen or something like that. Rewards for the 50 first, but only good ones for the 10 first, and even better for the first 3. The winner wons a special reward.

The problem in this format is people can't play it whenever they want, it has to be the same time for everyone and also requieres more time to prepare. But if there are rewards for the first 50 you could set up different races in different dates and hours with a max limit of participants of 1000 players each. Every player can only register in one race, the one with the date and hour they prefer. If there's not enough players in a race (less than 1000) you can delete that race and let players register in another one.

Once all the races has been set in dates/hours and participants we can all have this very special and fun races. After this if many people played it another race between the winners of previous races can be set.

You are right, considering just the xp is easy to set, less worries about bots and let's everybody play it whenever they want. But consider we could also do this other format perhaps in other time or at the same time.

The recruitment prize has been a stable of clan cups for the last 3 - 4 years, I'm unsure why this is an issue now?

How can I see my Clan's progress?

We won't have hiscores for this, but I'm more than happy to gather your Clan's data provided you've hit the pre-requisite above, when the cup is over, if you're not in the top 10 let us know and we can try and generate your clan's results!

How come we can only see top 10?

in previous skilling cups the full list of clans scores was posted on forums for all to see.

I think that is really important, our clan came 24th (i think) in fishing one year and that was such a massive achievement to be celebrated considering the number of clans in the competition that year.

You do really need to let all clans know where they finish or there really is no point competing.

I'm very pleased with the format, as it's fair, and well thought out; there are obviously constraints, but you've done really well, within those, so it's a massive improvement on the past iterations.

What is the potential for future events, and what parameters must they fall within?
My main reason for asking, is because it'd be absolutely awesome if you could do some Minigame competitions, of a similar ilk.

I understand that it's too difficult to do a lot of the Minigames, in such a format, due to the way many are set up, but there are at least 4 that should have relatively easily incorporated aspects:
• Trouble Brewing - The number of Rum made in an hour (or X number of games).
• Great Orb Project - The number of orbs scored in an hour (or X number of games).
• Stealing Creation - The number of points earned in an hour (or X number of games).
• Cabbage FacePunch Bonanza - The number of points obtained, in an hour (or X number of games).

These should be easier to track, and compare, though ensuring that teams are only comprised of members from one Clan, will likely be the biggest hurdle. These three are completely unboostable, provided games comprise members of one clan.
The first two were prime candidates for non-boostable Seasonal Highscores, yet they were never included. Given they missed out, then, I think they should be given higher priority, if any events do get made for Minigames.
Cabbage FP B has a highscores, so it's the least deserving candidate, given it already has some officially recognised way of competing.

Along these lines (and more pressingly, if Minigames can't be included in Clan Cups), it would be nice if there could be official JAGEX support, endorsement, and hopefully even participation, in Minigame Tournaments. This has been lacking, in the past, and it has been hard to spread the word about things, and encourage participation. A bit of a sign that JAGEX is aware of, and supports the competitive side of such content, would be a+

In the previous versions of the clan cup it was split into 3 cups:

skills cup
combat cup
combined cup

The combined cup was a knock out competition of stealing creation. It was quite difficult to organise getting times suitable for both clans to play each other etc especially if from different timezones. It was however an incredible amount of fun though, epsecially when you came up against a general community clan like ours... When you came up against a well organised pvp clan using discored you just had to sit in awe at how fast they owned us and trapped us in our bass. I did love the combined cup so much.

I understand this agility cup is just a test and hopefully in the future mod shauny will extend it to have multiple weeks and more skills like the old days.

Who knows if it goes really well and we are really nice to him he might consider a combined cup in future? they would need to fix the bugs in stealing creation first of course to stop fall outs over wrong scores
