I know this is irrelevant to the thread, and I apologize. But Ruby Inferno, on post two of the thread under the Table Of Contents, how did you give a QFC to the posts?

Once again, really sorry. But I would highly appreciate it if you'd let me know. Thanks. :)

@I envy Tarn

There are 3 different ways to get the post id:

If you quote the designated post you are given the post id.
Yours above is
55-56-75-64795809-231-326191732
.

Using the QFC tags:
[qfc id=][/qfc]

you can then extract the post id from the quote and insert it into the new tag, followed by any relevant text.

Example:
[qfc id=55-56-75-64795809-231-326191732]I envy Tarn[/qfc]

Makes: I envy Tarn

=============================================================

You can also highlight posts to get post id too!
1. Click the post to highlight
2. Go to the url and extract the id:
55,56,75,64795809,escalate,231,326191732

3. Replace the commas with hyphens and remove "escalate" to get:
55-56-75-64795809-231-326191732

Then simply follow the steps above by putting it into the QFC tag.

=============================================================

Finally you can view the source of the page to find the QFC, though this may be a bit more confusing to locate, as you'll be going through the page's code, however Ctrl + F will make it a lot quicker!

1. Take the post number of the post that you wish to use. For example, your post is post
232
. Minus this digit by
one
to get
231
.
2. Take the QFC for the thread and put the post number with the QFC:
55-56-75-64795809-231
.
As you can see you'll need to put the QFC first then another hyphen and the 'altered' post number.
3. Next go to view the page source (depends on browser) and press Ctrl + F (windows) to bring up the search. insert the new QFC that you made:
55-56-75-64795809-231
and there should be one result.
4. Go to the highlighted text where the result has been found, and viola! It will have the post number at the end. :)

@IceyNut: I have a suggestion to make, it's about the wave you use often.

This one: '``' (or its little brother: '``')
It's a nice wave, but I've noticed one of the symbols hasn't been mirrored.

This symbol ` has a mirrored version which you haven't used. I think the wave would look better with the mirrored symbol:
Before: '``' / '``'
After: '`' / '`'

Thanks, Ruby. :D
I'm sure I already had it mirrored at one point, but it seems as though it must've been replaced at some point when I've been using it inside-out. :P

I'm not very good at this whole colours thing :P w/e

Practice makes perfect; look here, find a colour you like, and copy and paste it into the quick reply box or notepad. Copy and paste some more colours that are a similar shade to the first colour you found, click "preview", and see how you can make a nice gradient.

Here's an example:

Orchid
. It's a nice colour, right? Now, let's find some similar colours to go with it...

Orchid

Darkorchid

Mediumorchid

That looks nice, doesn't it? Next, you'll want to change the order of the colours around so it blends better.

Orchid

Mediumorchid

Darkorchid

That looks much nicer! How about a couple of lighter colours just above
Orchid
?

Hotpink

Lightpink

Violet

Orchid

Mediumorchid

Darkorchid

As you can see,
Hotpink
doesn't blend very well with the others. That's okay, though, just simply remove it!

Lightpink

Violet

Orchid

Mediumorchid

Darkorchid

That's a nice little gradient, isn't it? Try it with some other colours, too!

So

This guy was essentially copying my signature word for word, same waves, same words etc. I asked him to cease using it and he said he'd stop with the waves but he'd continue to use the "your friendly neighborhood" part.

I dunno if I'm okay with that though. I don't want everyone walking around using that phrase and stealing originality from myself. In short - not sure what to do - pursue this further and demand him stop or not.

Ill probably demand he stops I'm just kind of talking myself through the situation I guess lol

As for what I'd do,

Contact them and let them know that it's obvious the text was copied along with the signature (the capitalisation and comma aren't too common). And hopefully, they would change it, but don't be too hopeful (I just had to deal with some blatant plagiarism with this individual and they weren't willing to change anything until mods interfered).

As for what the mods would do,

Nothing. Very rarely will any mods even consider a signature plagiarism unless the text is identical. I'm nearly positive the mods wouldn't and couldn't do anything about it.
