So I have some burning questions I really like to ask PURE SKILLERS around.

1) Why did you choose not to train combat?

2) Did you wish you'd train your combat skills sometimes?

3) Did you wish you had the ability to do some quests with combat requirements?

4) Had any of you accidentally gained combat xp?

5) What are the main challenges of being a skiller besides combat based?

6) Are your skiller accounts your main accounts or alternate accounts created for a challenge?

7) Have you ever been called a noob before by anyone, before they found out you had 99 stats for everything else?

Look forward to hearing your views.

You seem to be interested only in skiller pures.

Many of us who consider ourselves skillers DO have combat stats (even maxed out combat stats), but we don't use combat as a means of earning money, because we simply don't enjoy PvP or PvM beyond Slayer.

Oh yeah, thanks for that. Shall re-edit my initial post.

Used to be a pure skiller years ago at one point (you're talking at least a decade).

I didn't like combat back then, now I don't mind it. When I only done non combat skills, once I started to get into the 80/90+ levels yeah I did wish I trained combat levels because at that point the account was effectively useless.

From what I can remember back then there weren't any (if at all) "must have access to" areas that required quests so no. But nowadays? Not having access to Prifddinas would have definitely been a motivating factor in having the ability to do quests.

I never accidentally gained exp, even before you had all these "are you sure" options.

Main challenges? It's boring and pointless once you get 90+ levels, not to mention you willingly handicap yourself as well (same thing with ironmen) due to not being to do anything whenever you want. You're better off in the long run not doing either of them. A decade or more ago being a skiller was basically considered an unofficial game mode due to there being so little to do, to put it one way, nowadays you're just stupid to do it now as there's so much more to do compared to then.

This would be my main now I suppose as I've stopped using the others. At one point I suppose I was what you'd consider "pure skiller" until I decide to hit the "fuck it"button with this account once I realised I'd handicapped myself - so this is technically my main as well.

Last time I was called a noob was more than ten years ago, this new community hardly talks in game compared to the original community I'm from so 98% of the time nothing is being said which is genuinely depressing. But before I go off on one of those cliché "back in my day..." rants.

In fact now that I mention it. That's something I miss back then and definitely added to the skiller experience - how social the community was back then.

You could (and I did, especially for 99 woodcutting haha.. I'm still burnt out from that - 121k willow logs) spend months skilling at a location and there would be others doing the same thing; which would lead to random conversations in public chat that would continue every time you happened to meet the same person/people at those places or doing a different skill pft.. I genuinely miss that haha.

I've tried to do a Skilling pure but found myself wishing for tools that allowed me higher efficiency with my skills.

Should probably mention that I tried to do it on a HCIM...

I've a weak will when it comes to selectively engaging in content. I love quests, but needed combat stats to enjoy them all a second time.
