Hello everyone.

I found a great way to help you all see the Rockertunities (particle effect) on Bane ore. You need to change the skybox to something dark like Darkstone for example. Any skybox that is dark will help, but Darkstone seems to be the one I favor the most.

The main problem with this is that for some reason Jagex has a skybox of mid-day active in that cave which makes it far too bright. The dark skyboxes make the particle effect "pop" out a lot more and much more visible

UPDATE:

Rockertunities make a "whoosh noise". While this helps in letting you know that it has spawned, the skybox work-around will help make it more visible.

Don't buy keys on Treasure Hunter, if you do Jagex will only make more TH promotions :(

I've found that changing the sun color to something low, like 120, 120, 120 on a custom skybox seems to solve the problem in most cases. The problem is, the game itself is extremely dark as a result.

We basically have to find a balance between being able to see the rockertunities, and being able to clearly see everything else, and it's difficult to do. It's not ideal, but will do until Jagex find a way to make the sparkles clearer somehow under normal light conditions.

An alternative for Bane is to use the site north of Rellekka in the icy hunter area. There are only two rocks there, meaning if you're mining one there's only one possibility for where the rockertunity can be. When you hear the sound of the rockertunity spawning, switch to the other rock.

This is a good idea! However...what does it sound like? I've never been able to see them anywhere so I haven't been paying attention to any different sounds.

It's a very clear and audible whoosh sound.

I play with ambient sounds off, so the only other sound effect I hear is from the pickaxe. Even with music playing, the sound of rockertunites spawning is easy to hear.

Yeah that's really not helpful for everyone who doesn't have sky boxes. And it's such an awful idea in the first place. Really wish they'd stop complicating things for no reason and overlooking important things. I liked it when you smithed a rock and got xp for it, not different xp for every hit, Makes no sense. Stupid bars above your head. So off putting. Don't touch any more skills please with more of this crap. You are the ones who made the game afk and then you want to make people not afk by adding stupid crap. Just stop with it. Get rid of the swift sailfish spot too. So stupid. Now what's an unfun environment when you talk to people and see nonsense being said and stuff like that

Thank you for this info! I'm at bane ore now and I can clearly hear the "whoosh" now that I know what to listen for. Now that I know which rock will be next for the rockertunity I zoomed in and stared at the next rock but still can't see anything. Oh well, at least I can get the xp boost here at bane. :)

Same problem here Monklady.

I'm using Java since my laptop cant run nxt (drives 10+years old, no updates available). No rockertunities visible on Java. Actually only found out about them today while trying to get my last mining achievement (2400+damage one). Which is interesting without being able to see which rock is active.

Was hoping they'd address this in today's fixes, but clearly not enough players have an issue. In answer to your question Immortalized - you don't - you have to guess when you hear the sound. This isn't an issue when there are few rocks, as in the bane rocks mentioned here or the rune rock in Prif even the light animica where there are only 4 in a small area isn't too bad. Any more and it's probably not worth the effort.
