We were promised that smithing would now be a money making skill. So what am I missing? Anything from Elder down does not sell at ge except bars and they are dropping fast. Only thing update did was increase cash for combat again. That is because of Torva.

And if the sole thinking was people will smith master gear for profit...no.

Insane: No exp/almost hour of doing nothing at an anvil for 1 glorious bar....No thanks.

Anyone else find any money making ways from update for smithing, not mining.

I am one such person who will happily make masterwork etc. is the end result in profit as the tediousness doesn't intimidate me. If it's easy everyone will do it, thus they'll just dump it all on the G/E and crash it. Whereas if it's extremely tedious that will put off the majority while those who don't mind that will do it which means they get the pay off for the amount of time they put into it.

The same thing with exp, you can't have great exp and money because then, despite it being extremely tedious, people will still slug through it regardless of hating every waking moment of doing it because by the end of it they'll get amazing exp.

If it's exp you want make elder rune +5 or burial armours, that's what they're there for and masterwork is profit.

Then make masterwork? Those who own trimmed masterwork, as far as I'm aware, can only repair it by using standard masterwork armour pieces on their trimmed masterwork pieces so standard masterwork should retain some value once the dust settles.

There's no way really to know beyond guessing it's masterwork because all the G/E prices are out of whack on everything.
