I am also a retired / returning player, had saved 2k rune ores worth around 23,6m before the update.
After the update i hardly doubt i would return.
Jagex, you are turning the game into trash O_o

It amazes me that people think the game should be exactly the way they left it after retirement or coming back after a long absence.

If you have left the game and consequently not kept up to date with it then with respect, that is your problem and not the fault of Jagex or anyone else.

If you were active those fanatics wiuld have told you to play the beta which the client newsposts and forums have said was available to everyone, including free to play players.

If you retired for years and missed all that, why would your bank matter to you since you no longer play the game anymore? In fact, why make an investment in the first place if you decided not to play anymore?

Gotta agree with this, when i take breaks i sell my valuables. Jagex - Given up trying to win any decent
award
since 2010.

Please remove the over the top notifications for mimic tokens, its a 10k item no-one wants, it doesn't need a message and loot beam.

Did you actually buy that rune ore? Or was it mined or drops from something? If it's the latter then you actually didn't sell it "at a loss" since you didn't pay anything for it to begin with.

If you did buy it...well, I agree with whoever said above me about how we were given ample warning about the updates.

it is a tough call but i would have always ended up with runite ore being less valuable and easier to obtain due to the end product

on the other hand you have plenty of runite ore to convert into elder rune bars and sell @@@

Why would they refund it? You had months upon months of warning of this. It's been in talk of development over the last year and spammed worldwide for ages at every mining spot in the game.

Ultimately I'd say that you still have a valuable resource. Get some luminite and make some rune bars (1 luminite + 1 rune, coal is just for steel/mith/autoheaters now) or upgrade to elder rune bars and sell them. Headcanon Haven, where everything is made up and the points don't matter.

You made a bad investment.

This is a game that is constantly updated. Things change. If you want to preserve the value of your investments, you need to stay on top of news regarding future updates and react accordingly.

I understand that as a mostly retired player, that isn't easy to do - as an intermittent player myself, I have missed important updates in the past as well.

It sucks, but it doesn't mean the update was underthought. No pay2win, no easyscape
