Wait, if the Sir Owen/BKF rework is coming next month, how is this going to work for Saradomin and the BoL?

Saradomin's currently at a stalemate with Zamorak in a my-beam-is-better-than-your-beam contest, standing in Lumbridge's backyard. If he just going to take a few minutes of his time away from the BoL to do whatever he's going to do in the Owen quest? Maybe Zamorak can catch a smoke break in the meantime.

Saradomin being involved with the Owen quest seems to pretty much directly interfere with the current World Event. Granted, it will make sense post-BoL, when he isn't busy standing on his battlement 24/7 deadlocked with Zamorak for 10 weeks straight.

It's somewhat troubling that it sounds like we won't be getting a quest until early 2014 now, if RoP is the next one scheduled for release. :O

I do wonder how many are in development now, seeing as RoP and Fate of the Gods are the only ones we know about that are in actual development stages now. I think I speak on behalf of most lore-lovers out there when I say that I truly hope 2014 provides more quests than 2013 did; even if the ones we had were memorable and/or impactful, they were certainly far-and-few in between.

I hope there's still a September quest, though I'm not so sure now. It seems like the next quest might just be the Halloween one (I assume early-mid October), though we might be in for some surprise in September.

I'd be very surprised if Jagex opts to put the Elder God quest in October as well, as it's quite rare we get a planned 2-quest month (yes, I know Fot* and OoaK were both released in March, but Ooak was initially a February release delayed until then).

It seems to me that we should expect the Elder God quest in November (though nothing wrong with hoping for an October release). And as for December's quest about Zamorak, I'm hoping this is still the case...we haven't really heard much on this since they initially said it's likely going to be the final quest of the year.

To this day, I really can't understand why they even bothered making that entire podcast about Rite of Passage, when it's not even going to crop-up until 2015 minimum. One would think they'd be much more willing/open to discussing quests that are actually in development than to get players revved-up for something that won't be seeing the light of day for years.

I do wish that they wouldn't lump such appealing quest options in these polls.

That first one was really chock-full of potential; despite Elder God Research winning, the fact that we had to push-off a Dragonkin, DoC sequel, Tuska, Rite of Passage (*sigh*), and other quests was just a bit of a downer in itself. Not that I'm not looking massively forward to an Elder God Research quest, mind you.

With this coming poll, while I'm rooting for the Zamorak Heist (for both obvious and not-so-obvious reasons), I can't say I'm not intrigued by the other options. Despite the annoyance of some of the EW puzzles (especially for those of us who are non-guide questers), I've always had a flare of interest and wonder at Vesuvius' research and experiments in the Elemental Workshop, and I look forward to seeing more of this unravelled in time (and to see if some of my potential theories are of any merit).

The Pirate series has always been among my favorite. Not so much originally, but when the rumblings of Rabid Jack, the Cursed Archipelago, and the key to his immortality were brought into the mix, I really wanted to explore this much further. I enjoy some elements of seriousness, and the generous comedic portions, for a rather tasty quest-recipe. With some Pirates of the Caribbean themes overlapping, I can only say this has helped to further my interest in the series, too! With orchestral music now a thing, I can imagine how EPIC high-fidelity pirate music will be.

The Spellcrafting one kind of caught me off guard, as I wasn't expecting it. I'm really hoping it involves creating a spell that was lost in the destruction of the first Wizard's Tower, as a way to re-visit that story with an exciting new twist. What spell, and what use, it may have has also piqued my interest. Though, even if it has no Wizard Tower involvement, I've always had a soft-spot for any form of magical research in quests, and uncovering the truth to some age-old myths.

While we kill the cultist leader and get the butler spy fired, we didn't actually do anything other than that. The key to the revival of Hazeel still lies upstairs in the Carnilleans house. There's a key to a chest in some crates in the basement where the cook is, if you push the odd wall upstairs you find a secret room with a chest. Using the key on the chest gives you the Hazeel Scroll, which is the thing that allows for Hazeel's revival.

We didn't destroy the scroll, or even find the odd wall nor the key if you sided against Hazeel in the quest, so those things are still potentially there for some other person to find.

Naturally, even if those were destroyed there would be other viable explanations for his revival, just none others that we currently know about.

This.

Think of it like the Siphon Staff of Armadyl situation from WGS. If you didn't side with Lucien in Temple of Ikov, the Staff remains in possesion of the Guardians of Armadyl...and later on in the timeline Lucien recruits Movario to steal it for him.

It'd stand to reason that if you side against Hazeel in Hazeel's Cult, another person is recruited to come along and retrieve the necessary objects to return him somewhere down the line (and off-camera, as well).

@Guitar Girl

After reading your comments and ideas, as much as I'll say that I personally will appreciate the fact that you aren't out to make this a nostalgic trip down memory lane whilst wearing rose-tinted glasses, I can only imagine that this will lead to criticism on quest release day.

We all know this community all too well, and what they're expecting is a glorified re-visit to Tutorial Island to have that experience yet again. To them, stemming away from this is only cause for outlandish posts of how terrible the update will be and how it "missed the mark".

Has there been any rumblings on a potential title for the Goebie Quest?

I think most of us are assuming this continues the "Liberation of Mazcab" theme, perhaps even involving the Airut Shaman, but I don't think we've been too privy to any information beyond this being a low/mid-level quest about Goebies.

I have some reservations about the idea of a Barrows Sister, ever since it was announced at Runefest. Akrisae was an alright addition since he took the proverbial bullet for us, and I feel like Sliske would just love to lord Akrisae's suffering as a wight over us as some proof of our failures to save everybody (which seems like something Sliske would really enjoy).

But I don't want to just keep cramming people into Sliske's core team of wights, and slapping the title of "the new Barrows x!" on them. I'll withhold my reservations on the the entire scenario until the quest actually gets released and we see how Jagex implement it, of course.

Overall, I'm pretty excited for the potential this quest has, though. With more revelations into Sliske himself, will Jagex actually attempt to make him a more sympathetic character? Will the talk of unveiling Sliske's motives give us some unexpected plot twist into his games that could change our outlook on the entire event? We'll see what it delivers in due time.
