The Godless will never be in a position in which they can effectively wage a war against anyone except themselves with all the infighting.

I would certainly like to see those Godless masks put into circulation though, I would like one for my collection.

The godless don't get much attention because they're just that... Mortals with a hidden agenda going against the most powerful beings on Gielinor who sit in well-fortified positions with armies at their command. Handing people all kinds of symbolic weapons and armour beats the purpose of remaining a relatively well-organized and hidden resistance.

As I see it, the Godless are a bit like an alternative version of the Temple Knights, serving more of an espionnage and infiltration-type role than a military one; plus Gielinor has got the world guardian to count on when it comes to dealing with direct divine threats.

We also used to have Sliske for antagonizing gods, or at least keeping them distracted while it lasted. The attempt to bash together their heads one against another in a second god wars had ultimately failed, so since then the threats against world peace remained pretty low- thanks to our and others interference- making the godless faction even less relevant.

In essence I agree there's gonna have to be some innovative strategies for getting at the gods somehow, and the ghandi-like resistance is laughable and more of a show than anything else. I mean, no one imagines they're going to get into anyone's crosshairs, and march on Falador tomorrow with banners and pitchforks shouting: "death to papa smurf".

As a side note, I assume you know of proxy-wars, that is to subtly provide economic, ideological, or logistical support to someone else to have them do the dirty work for you, in order to kill another. It's quite clever and kind of what they've done in past world events.

As such, pitched battles of humongous size are not expected; and as has been mentioned, the Godless are not really a force to be reckoned with- that is if you look at the human resistance without taking Vorago into account.

It wouldn't surprise me if the H.A.M. organization- a good example of an underground society- has rallied more support from NPC's than the Godless have until now.

Yea the godless neglect is sad. Wish they'd develop em a bit with their own warpriest/weapon set. And even have their leader Biehn appear ingame not just remain some name in a book.

NPC: We were contractually obligated to use the name.
Player: But why?
NPC: A higher power.
Player: What? A power greater than the Elder Gods?
NPC: *nods*
Player: Whoa ....

Nothing says it has to be the name "warpriest". But using the same concept of equipment as warpriest (level adjusting hybrid armor with a set effect). I have no idea what to call it in place of warpriest ... skirmisher? warbound? warbringer? warmonger? bob?
If they went the route, a simple suggestion would be to clone the Tuska set. That way, it could be used on the Sliske's Parody set with little change (like how you can use Sara/Zam and Arma/Bandos warpriest on it).

They could also do something mundane like any new boss or mob that drops an item, a nearby Godless artisan could just switch (or add) Godless themed iconography on it.

Not necessarily. There are religions that don't have a god to worship, or have gods, but the main focus is honoring nature, or the land they hail from. A lot of shamanistic religions are like this, as well as Buddhism. Especially Buddhism. In that religion, certain prophets are held in the highest regard, but there is no god.

The Godless actually seem to be somewhat shamanistic. Which makes perfect sense, as many in the faction are former Guthixians. Many are former Druids, and some are even aspects of nature itself. They largely still follow Guthix's teachings, and like in Buddhism, revere him, and honor him, but no longer worship him. He's treated as a prophet more than anything else right now.

So a "Godless Warpriest" is not as crazy as it seems at first glance. Heck, they might even form an actual religion at some point, but right now, "Godless" suits them just fine; they have enough to focus on at the moment. Godless =/= Atheist.

Oh, and to the players underestimating the Godless, don't. ;P They are growing in numbers, as the Gods themselves continue to bicker and lust for more power. As the Gods show their true colors, more end up joining the Godless. Sure there's a debate within the faction, but in-fighting is a bit of an exaggeration, at least currently.

On topic: Would love to see some Godless equipment. Or even just a quest, honestly. Same goes for Armadyl, I'm Godless, but I respect the birdman, he seems like an honest guy. ^_^ Let him have that quest, already!

Except its slightly different in the fact that the Godless wants all Gods out of Geilinor and are not just simply that they don't worship any God.
