I think since runescape 3 is on a completely different level than osr in terms of mechanics cosmetics and other things. I feel like maybe we should let go of the whole risk fighting area (the wild) and turn it into a instance based faction warzone pvp where you fight to control zones. choose to fight under which ever 3 gods that's shown in castle wars but instead of making it a if your not in this world you prob wont find a match turn it into you que up no matter what world you are in. build castles in this instance and other things and base it off the wild and have seasons whichever faction has the most points at the end of the season wins 1st place faction and everyone who contributed gets the best rewards for that season rare pets, cosmetic items xp lamps gold w.e, 2nd place not so great but prizes for being 2nd and 3rd. 30 day seasons.

I just think rs3 and osr are to completely different games gear on rs3 is extremely expensive I know if I had a weapon that I saved 1 bil for I wouldn't even run to abyss with it on. I love this game and im still a noob but ive got a taste of pvm on this game with vindicator and it was great I feel like its time to step back from pvm updates and focus on pvp and for the love of zamorak let me where my cosmetics everywhere!

Yet OSRS GP has a lot more value than RS3 GP, making quite some OSRS weapons and gear far more expensive than on RS3. Yet PKers risk it, so risk isn't the problem with RS3 PKing. People just have the mindset that they don't want to lose anything. There are already a lot of places where RS3 players can engage in PvP without risk. But all those places are inactive because it turns out most people who did enjoy PvP don't enjoy EoC and therefore left the game. PvP can't be fixed without fixing combat. Also, you'll never be able to use cosmetics in competitive combat because the opponent has to be able to see which items you use.

Like this is so obvious that the greater the gap between best & worse gear, the less people will do it.

Cap wildy at t50 & boom you get ppl running around again because they know they don't have to risk bank, & won't come up against someone with insane level gear.

This is probably the best idea I've seen. They would however need to remove all the strong slayer tasks from the wildy. I was at Lava Strykewyrms in decent gear the other day and got ambushed by a Pker who was wearing T90 and destroyed me. I had no chance as I was wearing T80 as I didn't want to risk too much.

If we'd both been in T50 I'd have stood and traded with him and maybe had a chance.

You're right, the other content in wildy makes my idea not so simple to implement.

However I'd still be interested to see what would happen if they (for example) made every 2nd world a t50 wildy cap & just observe the different ways that wildy is then interacted with in both environments.

Obviously some content couldn't be completed in t50 & you'd need to use a regular world for that.
This would also require a protection that anyone who was in wildy when they logged out in a t50 world, cannot log in to a regular wildy world, & vice versa.

It just seems to me the most obvious experiment to see if it impacts pvp, because as gear has got more & more powerful, the average player has less & less of a chance to survive, which is the most obvious disincentive to use the content at all!

Give the people a choice & observe how it is used both ways, & it might provide some information on what the people want & how to improve the wilderness for the future.

Most people don't even like PvP minigames. I think wildy has a lot more pvp going on in it due to warbands, chaos ele, lava wyrms, etc in wildy. So it's definitely not totally dead.

PvP is dead, because the inherent risktaking nature of the content runs contrary to the current playerbase's "efficiency" mentality.

As such, you're more likely to find a skiller running around in their pants than someone who actually wants to fight. And someone who does want to fight is either going to be in top tier gear (requiring a high investment to match), or run away because they weren't expecting resistance.

PvP is a dead horse. Flogging it detracts resources from content that might experience higher engagement. Forget it. Move on.

Players don't want to risk as much as they would need to in order to be effective in combat.

The only way PVP would ever work is if the risk of loss was less than the potential for gain.

Players want to gain, but they don't want to lose.

Remove the risk, increase the gains, and PVP would thrive.
