Kings. Queens. NPC leadership in general.

Long gone and forgotten. With our own minor adaptions to the Runescape timeline and lore we are able to rule the land and create the roleplay of our personal desire. So I am thinking about doing the exact same, but with Darkmeyer.

What do people want to see from Darkmeyer and Morytanian roleplay in general? Give me some ideas to work with so I can preferably make a darker themed (maybe even antagonist) roleplay city/kingdom(?) for W42 and perhaps even have a minor revive of the edgy roleplay activities in Morytania.
Quickly learn how to Roleplay on RuneScape!

I am bad and that's good, I will never be good and that's not bad, there's no one I'd rather be than me.

Not entirely sure what River of Blood ruined, but there always should be hostility/aggression between Vampyres and the western races(and werewolves I guess?).
The only way I would personally RP as a vampyre was if I was a big primal ravenous vampyre like Lowerniel, or maybe how they were on Vampyrium before Zaros' interference.

I've always looked at vampyres as a natural antagonist race. They typically haven't gotten along very well with anyone but themselves, (sometimes hardly that) and antagonism done well can be healthy, even if the Salve still secludes them.

I'd like to see a return of Covens/Houses. While the notion of an unified Morytania might sound appealing at first, we all know how that's gone in the past. While kingdoms can create roleplay, they thrive through interaction with other groups, and Morytania doesn't exactly have the same availability of "other groups" due to its seclusion from the rest of the world.

Sure, we could pull off some shenanigans with Misthalin, but that would only last a short while before the Misthalites are expelled from Morytania/vice-versa. Covens, on the other hand, Covens are smaller, easier to manage, are bound to a smaller piece of land which they try to keep active, and, most importantly, have the opportunity to interact with other groups in Morytania(excluding the good ol' Myreque & Canifis), which lets people roleplay with a wider variety of people in a wider setting instead of everyone being in the same group, in the same setting(because PoKs tend to gravitate towards one Hub and ignore the rest.)

That, and who doesn't like political infighting between Covens? Sure, it could be argued that such infighting would be possible even with all the Covens being part of one large group, and I agree, but there's still the issue of most Vampyres naturally wanting to be on top of things, and couple that with how quickly some PoK change kings, we'd have a new leader every other day...A problem we didn't have when Drakan was on top, because we couldn't really trump him.

With that said, I wouldn't mind if the Drakans somehow disappeared in RSRP like other monarchies have, and, despite all I said, I would not mind giving an United Morytania a try...down the road. If we started one now, I feel like we wouldn't amass enough numbers to keep all of Morytania active, which in turn would make the PoK redundant. If we instead started up a few Covens + Darkmeyer/Meiyerditch roleplay and they turn out well, we could try out a PoK without worrying about X area being inactive.

Tl;dr: I'm all for Darkmeyer being utilized, but I feel like we should start with bringing Covens and the like back since interaction between groups is what keeps rp thriving, while a single group without the means to interact with other groups on a regular basis gets stagnant. This isn't accounting for shenanigans with the Myreque and Canifis, provided that people decide to let the Werewolves continue govern themselves. Maybe down the road we could discuss whether or not a PoK-esque rp would benefit Morytania or not.

From what I heard, what the river of blood quest ruined was the fact that human-made vampyre can no longer access the west, they are stuck on Morytania. full blood vampyre can still cross but would be greatly weaken due to the update the salve was given. Not only that the quest showed us that Vampyre and humans would now slowly live together in peace. No more slaves, no more fears, no more, well trouble.

What I would love to see is somewhat of a post river of blood situation, where Vampyres are slowly getting used to this peace, where they still don't allow humans in their city, unless it i something important. Of course the important part would be hiring slayers, to kill rogue Vamypre(s), a turned corrupted Vampyres, ect. I wouldn't mind a rp like that, in fact I wouldn't mind a rp where the peace treaty between Mishtalin and Morytania is slowly beginning to work. The thing about this idea, is that it would require a lot of plots to sort of continue a storyline. For example, if it is NPC leadership like it always ways, we can say they have several trusted vampyres to ensure no one tried to threaten the treaty.

Over all, it would be fun to see it return, with acknowledgement that it has been 4 years and so on.

The idea that Mathus M stated sounds good, though what I suggest is something a bit different, as we know, there are tiers in Darkmeyer, we can use those suggestions as houses, as we know there are houses as well. We can include Meiyerditch to the list of houses.

Meiyerditch would be a worker location, where slaves, or human workers for those who slowly are getting used to the peace, resides and work for them, the house head is in charge of everyone's work and I guess station.

Tier 1 of Darkmeyer would be of a somewhat low class situation, with some resident of Canifis resides, bad houses, bad treatment, ect.

Tier 2 would be like a middle class, where more respectable vyrewatch resides, where I suppose one/two houses can reside, the further in they get, the richer they are.

Finally tier 3, is higher class, where houses are known for keeping prisoners, and the famous/infamous Blisterwood resides. This tier can have two/three houses, and would be in charge of hiring slayers, and allowing them to use blisterwood or not.

Draken castle as we know is only for Draken's family members, so you can decide there what you want to do.

I say take advantage of the situation laid out to us at the end of RoB. Perhaps a focus on the relationship between humans/vampyres/werewolves and build from that. Morytania's history is a dark one and people shouldn't forget that just because the River Salve became a wonder drug. The ghetto that is Meiyerditch and the issues that have plagued its citizens for centuries won't be fixed overnight. The lords and ladies of Darkmeyer haven't become the very definition of altruism. The werewolf communities aren't even certain of their own future since having declared independence from their former overlords as well as becoming immune to the Salve's magic.

Overall, Morytania is a hotbed of potential. Refugee crises, vampyric dissension, food and water security issues... There's plenty to choose from. We just have to make the effort to build from what we're given.

It's already been said but if it's being done, I'd like to see the new lore acknowledged and put in place. Especially the 'alliance' with Misthalin, such as tensions and disagreements amongst the upper echelons of Vampyric society of 'food are friends' statements and the like. Also, I'd really like to see vampyre society portrayed. I mean, this can't be guaranteed as it depends on what characters people like playing, but I'd love to see all of the city being used. The juveniles and juvenates running about the scummy lower tier, the upper juvenates and vyres handling normal society on tier 3 and the snooty vyre lords of true high society going about all haughty-like.
