Lets remove one word posts or quotes that clog up our threads and replace those words with a like button.

I feel the like button should be placed on all posts, which includes the opening post. The like button would represent, support, agreement, like, exactly type posts we often find clogging up our threads.

The like button will remove all the little spammy one word posts, such as, exactly, this, I agree, plus umpteen other little comments that players post.

I also believe it may encourage those that often don't get involved in conversation and prefer to support others with these one word spammy 'like' 'support' 'this' etc type post to actually write a post with there own view of why they support.

I often see one word posts being quoted with 'this' 'exactly' etc over and over again within threads around the forum and I don't feel It's thread friendly and can become quite spammy. Having the like button will remove this and could possibly encourage more in-depth posts from these individuals.

*Edited post.

No support.

If you want this, go to reddit.

How would a "like button" encourage more discussion?:@

I said it may encourage more discussion, if they want to be heard they will need to post a view point, if not they can click the like button.

Yet it still doesnt disprove my main point:

WHY DOES THIS NEED TO HAPPEN?

It also doesnt disprove how this wouldnt be abuseable.

No support sorry.

A like button just encourages favourtism to certain people. There will always be some forumers, no matter what they post, whether it's something useful or total garbage, will always get a "like". I feel like it'll just encourage people to have a bigger ego because they can accumulate more "likes" than someone else.

Also, if something like this were ever to be implemented, what's to stop people from posting 'support' or 'this' or 'exactly' etc? If it were to be introduced, would a new forum rule be added where anyone who commented that would be reported to Forum Help?

Also - while there's a ridiculous number of posts required to unlock each forum badge (thanks web team), people will always choose posting over pressing a "like" button. RuneScape is about unlocking content and achieving things - a lot of forumers I speak to are trying to unlock certain forum badges because they look cool and it's a goal of theirs... Would be nice if the unlock numbers were reduced significantly... but that's going off-topic now so.

This.

But no, seriously- What if someone else said EXACTLY what I wanted to say? I'm not going to spend my time rewriting my opinion when...well...someone else did it for me.

Again, another suggestion I don't agree with.

No support. Whilst you're typing "agreed" or whatever to someone's post, the fact that you have already began typing means that you're also more likely to keep typing further. If you could simply press a button, why would you bother opening the text editor anymore?

Support like button is beneficial to the health of the forums

I agree.

You can't abuse a like button to gain anything in RSOF, there will be nothing to gain from it. If you want your voice heard and to be taken into account you need to express your views in words.

The like button is just that - I like your words, I agree with you.

If someone else has said exactly what you want to say you would click like. If you want to discuss it more you'd post.

If it boosts someone's ego, so what let them have there glory. Maybe they've come in on their alts just to boost it or maybe they need some boosting in their life - give it too them, it's not going to harm anyone.

As I've said in my opening post it's going to help towards the removal of spammy type posts and those that go around quoting 'this' 'exactly' 'agree' etc and we see a hell of a lot of them around the forum.
