So it's been discussed so much in community that it is almost canon at this point, Wen corrupted Mah in an attempt to kill her. The question is why? I believe it comes down to sentient life forms. AKA us. Now we have been given conflicting information on Mah's views of life. It is said as elder god of potential she would've been able to see what life could become and suppress it had she not been corrupted. However it's also stated that during the last revision she was creating and playing with butterflies. She's also created TONS of sentient life in her anima-lacking form. The Mahjarrat, the Mahserrat, the Chelon-Mah, the Muspah, Seren, and Zaros. This would indicate that she does indeed wish for their to be life. But in COM we witness her nightmares, and all of them are of her creations (life). So where does Mah stand when it comes to living things? Answer this and we also know where Wen stands. As she seems opposed to Mah. Is Wen friend or foe? That depends on what Mah was. I have seen the dark universe yawning, where the black planets roll without aim;
Where they roll in their horror unheeded, without knowledge or lustre or name.

Where in the Lore was she playing with Butterflies?

I want to read this.

If I'm not mistaken, it was said during the lore livestream.

Wait wtf do insects have to do anything with Mah being corrupted by Wen?

Can some of you be Heroes and explain these terms for us? They aren't on Google :@
I submissively obey Lady Seren's every whim and relish every waking moment willingly serving her. She is my mistress and I am nothing without her. I am without thought, self-awareness, and being without her. She is my everything.

Those elder crones must have alzheimer to not remember they were as miserable as we were so long ago... I pity their blindness, not much to compare to lesser beings like Saradomin and such - and i didn't pick Saradomin for reason to start argues at all mind you! Good Goose you loons are as silly as aforementioned or i'm just overreacting in advance~

I think the fear comes from Wen corrupting Mah. Mah is considered the child among the Elders according to the chronicles, and Wen is the corpse.

Mah: From darkness is born light, the spark of life. The child is full of wonder, imagination and innocence. Thus came Edda-Mah. From Mah, the light by which to see, the dark in which to hide. The potential for all life, and a place for all things.

Wen: From the cold is born fear, shrinking and death. The corpse lies still and lifeless. Thus came Edda-Wen. From Wen, the cold to harden and freeze, to brittle and fracture the clay. The ending of things, to break apart. To reflect on the past.

These chronicles suggest that it was Wen who tried to suppress life and not Mah. She is described here as fearful and lingering on the past, so it's possible that there was a time when there were many more Elders around, but something happened which killed most of them off. It might have starved all of them except the five who were left.

Here's a theory on what I think might have happened. After revising the Dragonkin homeworld, the last of the Elders who managed to survive through Jas' plans created Freneskae and settled there, until they became accosted by the Kin, who may have done something to mess up the anima in a way that would later cause a change of plans for Jas. Wen feared that she and the other Elders would starve and die off when the Kin tried to limit the anima there, and corrupted Mah to try and save the others. Jas bound the Kin to the Catalyst to stop them from doing further damage and protect it for another plan, then everyone except Mah who they thought was dead left to make the next universe.

Mah managed to survive and created life of her own, probably in an attempt to generate anima for herself so she could catch up with them. She had an innate wonder from her own personality, but the corruption from Wen caused her to fear her own creations at the same time, as shown in the nightmares.

Ancient Drews Theory

So to sum up, your theory is that Wen's corruption of Mah's core is what makes her fear her creations because Wen, in essence, is fear itself. And as it relates to my original post, Mah believed in life, Wen is the enemy. I like it.
