Okay, first of all I'd like to point out that this topic is meant to be more of a bit light hearted and fun 'what if' topic than an actual lore one, so please treat it like that! Thank you! :)
What got me thinking about this was a post in another topic - I hope the original poster won't mind me quoting it here:
Original message details are unavailable.
i think it should be based what god we follow. like half human and half other race.

1. Zarosian adventurer = half human - half Mahjarrat
2.Serenist Adventurer = half human - half Elf
3.Saradomin adventurer =half human - half icyenne
4.Zamorak adventurer = half human - half Demon
5.Armadyl adventurer = half human - half Avansies
6.godless/guthix adventurer = full human
7.Bandos adventurer = half human - half ork
8. V follower - full human w/ fremenik background
While I would like to note that I don't actually agree with this theory, I thought it might be interesting to hear others' opinions about the half-blood options in this. So, the question is: if you were actually a half-blood hero, who would be your non-human parent (or the human one for that matter) and why, and whose kid you'd definately not want to be? Preferably actual in-game NPCs should be named, if possible, not just race.

Discuss!

And be nice! ;)

I suppose I should go first then, right? Okay. Well, though I'm not Zarosian, I think my vote would go for being a half Mahjarrat. And narrowing it down, I guess I'd be the offspring of either Kharsai or Wahisietel. Sliske is right out, because he's Sliske. :P :D Bilrach might be an okay dad but I wouldn't want to be Zamorakian, and the same goes for Hazeel, here the extra no is having Khazard as a sort of stepbrother. O_o Enakhra would never lower herself to have a child of a human, so right out too (and she's Zamorakian as well anyway). Lucien and Zemouregal are all about power and themselves, so nope. Akthanakos is all about camels, so no as well. :D What I like about Kharsai and Wahi is that they are the more peaceful and intellectual ones of their kind, I can imagine them as being actually caring fathers, and with them there would be a lot of learning in my life which would be nice. I dare not say that I'd like to have Azzanadra as a father, though he would fill these criterias as well, but he might be just a bit too overprotective, extremely maximalist in his expectations for me, and I suppose not being a Zarosian would not be an option in this case, which might cause some serious problems.

http://services.runescape.***/m=forum/c=6xsKiagsejQ/forums***?49,50 Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.

Being a half Zarosian Mahjarrat half human would be cool, except I don't wanna look like a Moia ripoff.

Being a half human half demon would be cool too, but Runescape demons are ugly af, so a half demon in Runescape would be ugly too. I don't wanna be an ugly half demon, I'd rather be a cute one, like Inuyasha. :| Plus, I'm not even Zamorakian.

I'll just be a pureblood Zarosian Mahjarrat instead.

I usually associate half-bloods in fiction with edgy sub-par roleplayers who, being practically immune to imagination/immersion/quality storytelling, feel the need to make their PCs as "special" and "unique" as demihumanly possible as a laughable substitute for decent characterization.

So no, I don't find the concept very interesting; and in any case, in the context of RuneScape half-blooded World Guardians make no sense.
Patrolling Lore FC almost makes you wish for a Great Revision.

This basically.

I just like being a normal guy who came out on top even with the odds stacked against him.

Every halfblood ever? Even Harry Potter? He's a halfblood too y'know (his father, James was a pureblood wizard, his mother Lily was a mudblood, thus making him a halfblood) and he didn't "lack characterization." I wouldn't say he's perfect (then again, no character should be, or they'd be a Mary Sue/Gary Stu), but he wasn't written with blood status over characterization.

This was written by the author...not a fan.
