It's been a little while since this theory has been mentioned, but I'm glad to see it's re-emergence as it was something I took an interest in.

There have been a few things that have always bothered me and made me question Sliske's true motive:

1. His knowledge of Guthix's teachings and more so the fact he seemed to know about the workings of Guthix's Retreat a bit to well.

2. The convenience of the circumstances and his seemingly having the foresight of a Timelord. He knew almost exactly what everyone would do and took advantage of it far too smoothly to be simply improvising.

3. Why Guthix would allow someone like Sliske to kill him when we would have probably done it for him if he asked us to?

"Balance must have a counter-balance..."

The conclusion I came to is that there is an overall plan formed by Guthix we are yet to be informed of and we act as the counter-balance to Sliske or vise-versa.

His masks also suggest some measure of duality. Light and dark, comedy and tragedy, good and evil...

Ironically, a form of balance.
