I always figured that, since they're obviously magical metals, it was probably something along the lines of:
Necronium - absorbed death, blood, and necromantic energies. Barrows metal is like an "artificial" form of this metal instead of naturally formed, cuzza Sliske and all.
Invictum - absorbed shadow and general dark energy. Same base/origin metal as Torva, probably "blessed" (or cursed?) with the ancient curses.
Aethyrium - absorbed spirit and general light energy. Probably what the Aviansie used to forge the godsword. Zilyana's sword is made of steel according to the most recent lore corner, so it's proobaably not a Saradominist metal?

So, on the subject of these higher-tier metals, do we know much about their strength storywise - separate from gameplay? Steel is a pretty damn strong material, and now we're making things that might be leagues beyond steel? Or do you think they're just slightly stronger but have other benefits like more durability and magical resistances? Mods pls notice me

Yea, I figure if the mine is/was teleblocked, a Mahj placed the block -shrug-

Hopefully, they make it so that their in-game tiers don't necessarily line up with narrative strength - because a while back, as far as we knew, dragon metal was some of the strongest, toughest, hardest stuff out there; but now everything's being tossed up in the air. Not to say that the new metals shouldn't be stronger storywise, just not absurd strength differences like t90 vs t60 would lead you to believe.
