Ok, so basically, I was looking at the Signature Hero's page on the Wiki the other day, and realized that there's not a ton of quests that we have together (like, there's a decent amount, but I feel like there could be significantly more in the future, and with Xenia dead, that would be pretty difficult, outside of the Underworld). Like, we're supposed to be such good friends with most of them, but then we only have like 3 quests with each.

I guess the point that I'm making is, do you think that Death would return Xenia's soul to us if we gave him Wight Nomad as a trading chip?

~OR~

Do you think they're trying to make the Signature Hero's more individually unique (i.e. Linza as a wight, Xenia in the Underworld, Ser Owen being corrupted by the Wand) for future adventures? (Maybe Amascut will curse Ozan)

~OR~

Is it all just coincidence, and you don't really care about the Signature Heroes?

Let's just make the Evil Dave quest an assassination quest where Dave decides to give us a hit list and kill all the heroes so he can be more eeeeevil. In the quest we kill all the Signature Heroes and feed their souls to Amascut, tying into the Desert Series. At this point we never see the heroes again--they aren't even referenced. Nope. Not in a million years. They're gone forever. Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.

Some of us care about the signature heroes.
We care enough to think of the worst possible ways to get them written out of the game.

Sir Owen's death was tragically too short.
Xenia's death was fitting.
Linza's death was needed, but sadly she's still in game. But I guess it's alright when we get to kill her whenever we want.

That just leaves Ozan, The Raptor, and Arianne.

Ozan probably ends up in jail or getting killed in the Desert Quests.
Arianne probably gets stuck with a desk job, never being able to move.
The Raptor, maybe they find an offscreen place to let him kill the ultimate challenge forever so we never have to see him again.

Thus the problem of the signature heroes ... the dumbest concept ever ... to be put to bed.

Xenia was an interesting character, even if her "ends justify the very, very dubious means" mentality made her hard to like as a person. As an old adventurer who's deliberately trying to craft newer ones by her aforementioned dubious means, she's inherently somewhat distant from the player character. Puts them in dangerous situations, hides her true intent from them, and then goes off on her own missions to bring down the Elder Gods. She's absolutely the type to strike out alone, especially when her own morals conflict with the player character's -- as they very often will.

Regardless, Nomad's Elegy was decidedly an end for her character. An epilogue, even. Her death cut her character short, but her afterlife gave it rest. And that's it for her. She's done. She's finished. End of story. Dragging her back out from that would be just tawdry.

Besides, she appeared in the most quests out of any of the signature heroes. The others need their chances to develop into interesting characters, with their own places in the world, and I do believe some of the others are well on the way.

(I could not give less of a damn about The Raptor though. Seen one brooding, mysterious warrior, seen 'em all, and there's really not much you can do with that character type because anything interesting would be too much character for the "mystery". Best use for him would be to make him into a parody character, I reckon, which he's honestly verging on being.)

The gods returning pretty much usurped the role the Heroes were originally going to have. Honestly only Ozan and Owen are interesting to me. Linza was always just sort of there, Raptor hasn't done anything, and Ariane just irritates me.

Xenia had a pretty good exit so I'm fine with her being gone.
We sleep soundly in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm.

Honestly a lot of the hostility towards the Signature Heroes… really doesn't make sense. The most I've seen is people criticizing them for being "promotional" heroes, which is a pretty dumb complaint. Oh no, Jagex is actually trying to make iconic characters! Yeah, considering how a lot of their iconic characters are either gods, villains, or the meme that is the gnome child, I'll gladly take some characters that are actually good. So I like the Signature Heroes.

That said, I did dislike Xenia, not because she's a Signature Hero, but because I hated that The Blood Pact and Carnillean Rising both revolve around her letting someone get into danger, and an innocent potentially dying, just because she "knew" that we would save the day. I'm glad that Heart of Stone was honest and made her recklessness completely catastrophic, but she finally redeemed herself in Nomad's Elegy. It's a little late for that, though, since I do think she should die.

However, it makes sense for her character's arc. As much as I dislike her, I understand that her point was that she's been around for so long that she expects her time to come, but she wants to make sure that the world is left with heroes. Between us, Philipe, and potentially Zanik, I think Xenia is satisfied that Gielinor has more heroes now.

Linza's death was just… really forced, though. They had already planned to make a Barrows Sister quest, and I imagine Raven already wanted to kill her, so it was killing two birds with one stone (Okay Armadyl won the Stone of Jas, but that's beside the point) by making Linza die and become the new Barrows, but… eh, I didn't care for how it was done.

Owen, Ariane, and Ozan are fun, and I'm glad that they have their own stories. I don't care for the Raptor, but he certainly fills a niche for the obligatory Slayer expert.

tl;dr, Xenia can stay dead, as we have plenty of other characters to continue onwards in her stead.

Personally I would like to see more development on Raptor, what is he , who is he, he's the most mysterious of the signature heroes and that means he could literally be anyone or anything development wise. Make him interesting and elaborate on him. WE1- Aligned/

Lets be honest, i think i can speak for almost every one that wanted to kill Phillipe at some point in time.

Trying to kill children inside a video game is complete normal. :p

During the Blood pact, she did said she had it all under control if things went south.

Maybe jagex simply wants to kill them off. The remaining signature heroes might still be alive just due to possible popularity or immense plot significanse. For example raptor is too awesome to kill off. And ZamorakZaros is hated but his plot significanse is too great for him to be killed off permanently NO
I do not ship ZamorakxZaros.
I follow them. And Marimbo, the best t5 god.
