I think it's Death you know.

Ever notice he just suddenly became widely involved in Sliske Storylines?

TWW, MPD, DAT, NE.

Granted none of these are forced, it makes sense for him to be there.

But isn't it all too....convenient?

I don't have some over the top convoluted theory, but with his strange frequent presence and following the bread crumbs that supposedly exist right at the beginning with Guthix dying, He's the only connection I can find.

The master being Death would probably only work about as well as however Strisath got captured. Though wasn't Death captured primarily to bait Icthlarin?

I'm inclined to suggest Saradomin just because he shows up after Sliske killed Guthix. I get that Jagex needed to have somebody show up, and I hope it isn't him, but* that arrival was way too convenient.

Another suggestion, V. I know he's totally dead, but Hero's Welcome was originally going to be required. There's been speculation that he faked his death, and I know Jagex has said that he was absolutely dead.

But those are throwing names out there.

...none of those names make sense.

Waitwaitwaitwaitwait. Are you saying that Death was lying to us about being a Guardian of Guthix the whole time? And here I was thinking the voice was Kara-Meir, Brassica Prime or a penguin.

That's the thing though. How on earth do you capture personified Death, much less contain it in a mere cage?

I further question why we were given the key to his cage too, We know now Sliske has always been as he was in Kindred Spirits, why the hell should he care enough to give us the key unless instructed to?

I don't think Saradomin has the smarts or the patience to play the very long game. Much less make Sliske of all people do as he's told. I also think if Saradomin knew where the stone was he'd lead the violent assault on Sliske's HQ.

Guthix does not have the best judge of character, don't take him being a Guardian meaning Death is a gospel of "Good".

^But Death being evil is the oldest, most overused, and (personally speaking) worst trope in the book...

It's the oldest most overused trope?

I highly doubt that. People should most commonly be familiar with mistress Death, she isn't nice, but she isn't evil.

He is featured frequently in quests related to Sliske because:

- He is a Guardian of Guthix and hence he came to protect Guthix in tWW
- Sliske used him to lure Icthlarin into his Ascension in MPD
- Death has a grudge towards Nomad and for that grudge he is featured in both DAT and NE

I doubt Death is Sliske's master because all of his appearances in Sliske's quests indicate that he is on our side. Icthlarin and Death are "friends" and I suppose they share Sliske as their common enemy. He has reaped dead people for thousands of years, like Icthlarin has escorted souls. Sliske is a punk who disrupts the cycle of life by using necromancy.

By stating that it's too convenient for him to be present is to me somewhat odd since he belongs to the cast of Sliske's quest series, just like us, Icthlarin , gods, Nomad, etc. He just has a big role in it, but not because he is Sliske's master who is hiding on our side. I don't deny he could be the master, but I doubt it.

Hiding in plain sight is a common trope. Considering, let's just say he is the master, no one other than me as far as I know is suspecting him, it'd come as a pretty startling reveal, wouldn't you think?

You'd have the Scrybabies crying foul. But the plan I'd assume is to make it difficult for us to guess, or at least make it surprising as possible within reason.
