Hi Jagex!

Ok so if I get a clanmate who is super excited about venturing into high level armour...
Then they get that armour...

& because they are new to Invention, they wear that armour (because they are excited about having the highest tier armour they have ever had...)

& then after that, they find out they can no longer augment that armour...

Well because I'm a human being, I pay for them to buy a new set...
I feel it's really poor coding, no doubt there is technical issues, but can you find a way?

Please stop making it trip a flag just because they put the armour on when they are not in combat. Is that unreasonable?
That doesn't seem like great user error management.

If someone gets their highest tier gear & puts it on out of excitement, this should not count as if they have worn it in combat & mean that forever more they can no longer augment that piece of armour.

Can you please find a way to prioritise this & fix it?

Come on, you can do this!
If D2D armour is at 100%, can you make it so that it's augmentable?
Maybe if you unequip the armour, & it is 100%, it resets the flag?

Ya I agree this is really stupid. It shouldn't degrade till you engage in combat.

Nah, this is called a money sink for a reason.
It's called a money sink because ppl who equip then unequip w/o fighting are tricked?
Lol where to start.....

I don't think tricking people would be in a Jagex money sinking strategy!!! :D

The degrade to dust mechanic is so that these high level drops retain their value.

To accuse Jagex of including tricking ppl who equip then unequip their armour & then not being able to augment it as part of a money sink strategy is not quite this side of sane!!!!!

Haha you always come up with some classics! :D

Not going to bother reading the 8 pages to understand the reasons people disagree...

I support the original post idea: armor that hasnt been used in combat should be augmentable, period.

I would also propose that there is no good reason behind making degraded armor unable to be augmented. If my Malevolent Cuirass is at 53% and I attempt to add an augmentor, it should calculate 53% of the 36 required divine charges rounded up (so 19) and give me an augmented Malevolent Cuirass with 53% charge remaining. (53,000)

It is not hard to imagine the concept and there is no reason for it not to happen.
Yeah I have no objection to that in theory but I imagine if they can't fix the issue raised in this thread, there would certainly be technical reasons they can't do the 53%

Still, I look forward to them solving this one, coz it's one of those things that stands out as stupid & only serves to anger players.

They buy high gear, they are excited, they try it on, maybe they want to make sure they can wear it. They haven't left the bank, haven't used it in combat, & then the disappointment at not being able to augment it..............

This is a really clear cut case & I hope someone makes this a priority to try & fix.
