The RS Wiki has some missing info, and since those talk pages aren't visited, the info needed isn't acquired very fast or at all. Therefore I ask some unknown knowledge here, on the forums, where there are people doing stuff.
If you casually know something or are very bored and don't know what to do, please post your findings.

Current things that would be nice to know:

Agaroth
- One of the two rewards is a black pearl, which gives the same amount of bonus xp as a medium star. The reward screen shows a maximum of bonus xp, probably if it used for the highest skill. There is still some conformation needed about this.
- Does the black pearl always give the same amount of bonus xp as a medium star for a specific skill?
- The xp list for a medium star only goes to level 99, it is unknown if the rewards can be higher for skills with non-virtual levels (Slayer, Dung, Invention) above 99.
- The coins reward seems to be double the amount of maximum bonus xp that the black pearl can give, but some exceptions seem to exist.
- Agaroth's lifepoints are scaled to the player, but it is unknown how it scales.
At combat level 112: 34 000 life points.
113: 34 800 life points. Also, Agaroth still does his second special attack under 11 600 life points (1/3 of 34 800).
114: 35 200

On the Wings of Air
- This music track unlocked when doing the Al-Kharid "agility course" first done during Stolen Hearts again, I believe where you jump from the awning of the kebab seller's house to the bank building, but that can be wrong and could have happened a bit earlier. When doing the "agility course" again, it starts playing every time I get to the top of the scimitar seller's house, so I believe the music track unlocked there instead.
The unlock info says this track is unlocked when riding a magic carpet and doesn't mention anything about the way I unlocked it.
Does this track unlock as well for other people on the wrong place?

William, as seen here on World 8 (sorry for the cramped screen, was on my laptop).

Couldn't find Edmond to confirm though,

Sweet! Since you found him at the northern side of the wall, he must have been hiding there when I was looking for him. If florpsy decided to leave me alone, I might have found him!

He (and Ian) should have the banking option on a members' world, but as a free player that's rather hard to check. Any chance you have encountered them on a members' world the last couple of months? You don't need to go back into the Wildy if you don't want to, there are other guinea pigs around here somewhere we could use... Although it would be better to send a human, they're stronger and not so cute, so people care less if they die in the Wildy.

Well when I logged back in (on a F2P world) after the Update, William was down by where Edmund should be! So I assume he really does have a massive walk range!

I'll have a look at some point on a members world, will just have to find him first. :P

William replaced Edmond? So you found WIll between the green patch north of the volcano and the Hobgoblin Mine? It seems we haven't reached the bottom of this!

Yes, I logged back into the same world and there he was, in Edmunds area! Maybe he likes walking?

I suppose the same is true for Edmund - he probably has a large walk range. Interestingly, although William no longer has the F2P banking, his minimap icon is still a bank sign.

That minimap icon is interesting! I might add it to the Wikia as well!

Original story:

Since I couldn't find Waldo, I turned my gaze upon another option. Problem is, I can't find that
either. This question is asked purely for the sake of the RS Wikia.

I wanted to confirm that his banking option in free-to-play was disabled like Jagex said on the update of 9 October 2017 when free-to-play got dragons and ThE bEaSt to kill. Ian lost his ability as well, and I had no problem finding him near the blue dragons and confirming he isn't a bank anymore. I noticed the Wikia didn't mention this, so I edited it, but I need some proof for Willy because I could not find him.

First I checked the RS Wikia to see where Willy roamed, and it says he wanders between the spider hill and the demonic ruins north of Red Dragon Isle. I ran around there, but I couldn't find him, I also checked if he could have wandered onto Red Dragon Isle through an opened gate, but he was not there either. I also checked the other side of the fence, but didn't see him and had to retreat because eLLIE decided to come after me. Luckily he/she/it/gazorp hasn't figured out how to attack an almost two-meter-tall human standing behind a one-meter-tall fence.
Has William turned his back on the free world, only to appear on members' worlds? Or is he playing hide and seek by walking around somewhere in Lumbridge Swamp?

I also wanted to check Edmond, who should wander around the Hobgoblin Mine and the north of the Wilderness Volcano, if he lost the ability as well since he's close to some green dragons, but I only saw a glimp of his bank sign on my minimap when he set foot inside my field of view. Unfortunately, he decided to leave immediately, and decided not to be found ever again either. Since I saw his bank sign, he probably still has his banking option, but I couldn't check.

Can someone confirm that Willy is still around without a banking option and that Edmond still has his banking option? Screenshots would be appreciated very much if possible!

What also needs to be done on RS Wikia is it needs to become mobile friendly. My phone can't open the drop boxes and I miss there information dearly! So if you know someone in RS wikia behind the scenes mention it to them.

That's unfortunate to hear. Does it happen with other wikia apps as well? If it does, the problem might be your phone. I have some of the apps and they all work fine on my iPad.

I don't know anybody from there (I'm just a player like you who thinks some pages on the Wikia need some love), but you can try contacting them. They accidentally broke all their apps around october/november last year with an update, and I sent them an email explaining how their apps crash immediately after starting up and that I didn't have back-ups from the apps because iTunes ignores the apps when synchronising my iPad (iTunes sees them as references rather than apps). I got a response within 24 hours telling that they knew of the problem, and were trying to fix it. A couple of days later, there were updates and that fixed the problem.

You have to search a bit, but you can find the email adress to which you can send your problem somewhere on the site. There might also be a feature in the app itself to report a bug, probably in the settings.

I've edited stuff on the RSwiki before, just to go back and notice it deleted. Now you all want help? Why should I waste any more of my time on ingrates?

That's an honest question. I'd be willing to help, but an agreement would have to be made to protect my contribution from tampering. Also, I want the Wikian title.

I'm not someone who works there, I'm just a player who thinks some pages on the wikia need some love. I have encountered the same thing as you a couple of times, and it can be a bit frustrating indeed.
I don't think the info needed will be deleted when it is added in, the page on Agaroth isn't that great. I also had to change the pages about William and Ian several months after the update that took away their banking options to retlect that. After five minutes, someone already changed my addition.

I want the title as well, but I haven't made enough contributions for that I think. I mostly tweak small mistakes and don't make new pages (although I might add a strategy page for Hollowtoof in the summer holiday, I found a neat trick in defeating him, and maybe a dialogue page as well).

I know the system isn't that straight-forward, but I'm not the one who made it. Don't shoot the pianist! I'm just an average player who finds the Wikia very useful, but some things need more attention and I'm not in the position to find it the needed info myself. I find their lack of info disturbing.

I can update it when you have some info but don't want to update the wikia yourself.

So much work put into the old Knowledge Base and Official Wiki, all of which is gone now - a fond memory of the past!

Maybe if more people actually updated that, there wouldn't have been a Wikia. Some pages on quests were just a copy of the ancient quest help system answers.

Update: Edmond still has his banking option in free-to-play, I checked some days ago. He can also roam in the crater all the way up to the Sword of Edicts. He was probably there when I was searching him since I didn't check that far, thinking he didn't walk that far south.

Removed from the first post:
- William and Ian should have their banking option removed in f2p (probably because of their proximity to blue dragons and red dragons + Ellie): confirmed by me and Trewavas. They still have their bank icon though. William also seems to roam as far as Edmund's walking area north of the central crater.
- Edmond should still have a banking option in f2p (although he's should be very close to some green dragons): yet to be confirmed, couldn't be found, so his walking area seems to be very big.

So, here is how the charm data works on RS Wiki: You must submit at least 50 kills at a given time to help ensure a meaningful data sample. When you submit the data (the specific number of charm drops you receive along with the specific number of kills), the system compares your data with the data that it already has for that given creature. If your data for any of the four charms falls greater than three standard deviations from the mean (a z-score of 3.00 or -3.00) the system rejects your submission to protect from vandalism.

Unfortunately, a lot of data samples are rejected because of this, but I recognize that it's a necessary protection to prevent vandalism in the charm rate data. It's just frustrating when my data is disallowed. :P

I haven't tried to put data in there myself, so I didn't know there was a 'failsafe' against manipulation by giving false data. Seems like a clever system actually if the numbers are already quite accurate, but if they aren't, the good data is rejected.
RNG can create weird data, the weirder the less chance for it to happen, but it can happen nonetheless. Bigger data samples have less chances of going haywire, so maybe by combining several data sets you acquired over time you will get a more accurate result that is not rejected by the system. A minimum of fifty kills is actually quite low if the drop chance is only a few percent (or even less than a percent!).

That article doesn't even cover 0.000000000001 % of the game, so updating that would be quite some unnecessairy work when the RS Wikia already is the most complete wiki I have encountered. It's better to improve somthing that's there already and very good than to start from scratch and try to make it incredibly good from the first time.

Ah okay I was just curious, guess I was wrong though.

On topic, I just want to say that having a good wiki for a game I think helps the game attract/keep players so well. Perhaps it's just because I'm so used to the high quality wiki that RS has, but if I go to another established game and find that it has a totally lacklustre wiki it ends being a turn off. It feels like the existing community are saying they have no faith in the game and so there's no reason to invest any time in creating and maintaining a wiki.

It's understandable if a game isn't played by that much people, the wiki won't be updated very fast while the game could be very good. If it's a popular game with a bad wiki, then something is definitely wrong.

Indeed, anyone can edit. POF was only released earlier this week, it takes some time before everything is known and written. Be happy there already is a guide for it that looks complete! It took more than a week before the quest guide for Kindred Spirits was added...
Also, many players are doing POF to check it out, so a lot of info can be gathered about it. The things listed in the first post is about stuff people encounter less frequently and therefore less is known about it.

Fantastic news from the RuneScape Wiki:

http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Forum:Leaving_Wikia

RuneScape Wikia is leaving Wikia, and is moving to new URLs with the full support and backing of Jagex. You should go to the URL above for the full details. The new URLs will be:

https://runescape.wiki/

https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/

I'll have to stop calling it the RuneScape Wikia then...

That's great that Jagex is backing a new wiki.

dunno if this is the best place to suggest it, but maybe there could be a little template/icon in the corner for content shared between both OSRS/RS3.

So like, let's say the slayer helmet for example. On the RS3 page for the slayer helmet it could have a little icon that says "this piece of content also exists in OSRS!" and then clicking it would link to the OSRS wiki's page for it. Same for the other way around.

Since that already exists on the Wikia page it will most likely be present in the new form.

Don't use it and spread the word that the Wiki has moved. It will get outdated after a while, so people will use it less often, causing it to be less prominent on Google.

Anyway, I was wondering with the wiki now being under Jagex, if Jagex has the power to shut down articles. For example, let's say someone datamined the game and found some items that are gonna be released next week. Before, someone could post those on the wiki. It was often done for future TH even items. There's also the infamous blood/soul talismans, from long ago before they were released.

With the wiki now being under Jagex, does that mean Jagex can ask the wiki to close down those kinds of articles? Or will Jagex be permitting this content on the wiki?

reposting a question from my thread here.

I have no idea. Jagex might ask to close down such pages, but there's not a lot of harm in that as far as I think. Who cares about TH anyway?

For example, let's say someone datamined the game and found some items that are gonna be released next week. Before, someone could post those on the wiki. It was often done for future TH even items. There's also the infamous blood/soul talismans, from long ago before they were released.

With the wiki now being under Jagex, does that mean Jagex can ask the wiki to close down those kinds of articles? Or will Jagex be permitting this content on the wiki?

reposting a question from my thread here.

No it isnt:

Also might want to read you thread as Mod Lyon also confirmed it.

So plz dont spread false info.

It seems that Jagex has nothing to say about the content of the wiki.

Are you sure you got the item right? Or that you went to the now abandoned Wikia which has fallen prey to trolls? The Wiki mentions 9k for high alchemy, and the previous edit was in March this year. The alchemy values were indeed different in the past, but they were edited to the current values little over one year ago.

Here will you look

https://runescape.wiki/w/RuneScape:Grand_Exchange_Market_Watch/Alchemy

this is the list shows buy price, alchy price profit. On this list it shows its 12k for
alchy. which is what a clan member of mine was going by and lost alot when
she thought she would make a profit.

I dont know how the 12k alchy price gets on this page if it is the correct page so
maybe that too could be looked at but she was thinking using this list that she
would make over 400gp per alchy instead lost 3k per alchy

if this is not the new page then please give me a link for the new page so i can
share it on discord for those who want it.

Thanks King Abbot

You're right, it shows incorrect on that page but correct on the page on the shield itself. The page is created with some sort of program that checks all the items, looks where the GE price is below the low/high alchemy price and lists them up. I am not familiar with those fancy programs they use for this kind of stuff, so I don't know what went wrong. I don't even know where to find that program...
Someone already metioned there that the mystic shield shows a wrong value some months ago on the discussion-part of the page, but I don't know if the program was already in use at that time. It appears that the switch-over did mess something up according to someone else, so let's hope it gets fixed.
Best thing to do when using this page is to go the page of the chosen item itself and check if the alchemy values correspond.

EDIT: Someone fixed it! Mystic shield is no longer in the list now.

The Wiki mentions that a full sack (ten onions) is tradeable but all the other sacks with less onions aren't. There's a small dropdown menu above the infobox on the right where you can choose the version of the item (in this case the amount of onions in the sack). It is standard on the untradeable one-onion-in-the-sack, did you perhaps miss this and bought a ten-onions-in-a-sack on the GE?

We are not talking about search engines, we are talking about fan sites, dedicated people that love the game who have spent years looking after and maintaining their site, keeping it safe for us and content available.

So if they all come in here and post a thread, will they get stickied too? I doubt it.

Fan sites are not search engines (although you use both of them to search for some info on something), but that's not the point. There are several things that do the same (search engine or fan site), and one is better or more complete to the other, so people use that one. I read somewhere that the most popular search term in Yahoo is 'Google'. I used Yahoo once to search for something (could have been by accident) and I couldn't find it, I then used Google and immediately found it.
As it happens, the Wiki is the most complete one, so why bother using another fansite that knows less and updating that fansite to bring it in line with the Wiki when the Wiki already exists?
I used two fansites prior to switching to the Wiki, and every switch was because the next one was better and knew more than the previous one.
As the npc in the armour animation room in the Warriors' Guild says: "Do nothing which is of no use".

They advise to move closer if it doesn't work, but I think that might be an error.
The discussion page mentions that it could be that only one altar per town could be searched for a note, but it seems more complicated than that.
I suggest searching another altar.

I just finished all the daily birds (can't for the life of me get farming/cooking ones)...

Anyway, the Wiki is correct with all birds spawning at 15 and 45,
however
Gongdung Peligorn only spawned at 00 and 30 for me. I spent ages waiting for it to spawn at 15 and 45, and it never did. The same happened with my partner, where that particular bird only spawned at 00 and 30.

I'd edit the Wiki myself to do that but I wouldn't know how. ;)

Apparantly you're not the only one! Someone encountered it too. It seems that the spawn times are not as fegular as thought before. It might be similar to Goblin Raids which spawn every thirty minutes and 0-10 seconds, making them hard to predict on the long run.

If you or someone else has absolutely nothing to do: try a stake out at the birds and see how much time there is exactly between two spawns.

the other wiki was so much more on to it. You could find the information you are after straight away, no mucking around as this new RS.wiki does.

Just tried at the new Wiki and old Wikia, both direct you to the Dungeoneering doors when repeating your query, and the same pages appear. The redirect brings you to the page of all skill-related Dungeoneering doors, and the liquid lock door is the Herblore-related one. If this isn’t the door you’re talking about, which one do you mean?

It doesn't need a vial, you just click on the door.

Those who don't need one:

- Asahel Frost x6 because of alts
- iTinker Bell (didn't complete any saga)
- Fifi

Those who do:
- Dong U Dead

You can add a 'x6' after my name if you like, as none of my accounts (various levels and numbers of quests done) need a vial.

PS
I have a suggestion for the Wiki.
Is it possible to set up a search that will only search the patch note archive?
That would be a handy way of looking for things that have changed in game, and work out when. It would be a useful tool for the Update History project.

Updated the list.

I believe such a thing should be possible, but I’m not familiar with coding, both on the Wiki or any other program. I’ll leave it as a question on the talk page of ‘Patch notes’.

Apparently it is already possible to search only the patch notes for something! Someone told me you have to type the following in the search bar if you want to search for something:
Update: intitle:"Patch Notes" insource:"abyssal whip"
I tried it and it gives all the patch notes pages containing "abyssal whip". The pages are listed in a random way though.

I think this should be your slogan, Kings, or...something =)

I think you know whence I erm borrowed it! =D

If only I could put images in my description! I might adapt it into words later on when my current description gets stale.

Nice find!

Does the wiki include any advice on launching a sneak counter offensive through the Ardennes in the middle of winter? Also any information about how to quickly capture Antwerp would be valuable.

Not the RuneScape Wiki. Perhaps the OldSchool Wiki or the Classic Wiki?

bump

I appreciate the bump, but there’s no need. I bump it almost every day. And even when I don’t bump it one day it still ends up too high in the list as if someone else bumped it without leaving a post...

I hope that you didn't jinx us for a tsunami wave of spam in General lol =P <3

How so?

Also, if you see Tuffty somewhere, will you inform him to collect his low-effort bowl of lychees from the Holy Church of Gloop as a rewards from winning the first ever MUPAQ Award™? I can't seem to get a hold of him. Wouldn't want to waste those lychees...
