The proposed XP capacitor that comes with archeology is a horrible idea. Allowing players to sell experience to other players violates the core values of Runescape.
Essentially, players craft an item, build xp in it, then sell it to someone else so they can get the xp. The capacitor is for augmented items.

If this item gets into game, it cracks the door open for other xp items to benefit other skills.

Anyone else have issue with this? Player created "lamps" to sell to other players.

I'd be strongly opposed to something like that as well. It's one thing to buy all the materials for the fastest xp. Most of do that and we're still required to actually use the skill to consume the materials. But to just simply be able to buy lamps all the way from other players is not a good plan.

From how it was talked about it sounds more akin to selling your time.

If I spend time generating charge, I can sell that to other players so they can save time. It would be a way of making Invention profitable, including for players who already have 120+ and who no longer need to generate item XP.

If this were coming from TH I could understand (and would agree with your point). That it is coming from us and traded among players, I'm not so concerned by it.

It's fundamentally no different from any other skill - e.g. I buy grimy herbs, clean them, and sell on the clean herbs (or do that and make unfinished potions). I take out some of the XP/time and sell things on to get some money back, letting other players save time on mixing potions. It's kind of core to the entire rest of the game. What's so bad about allowing that in Invention too?

EDIT: It was also referred to as bonus item XP, so whoever does the buying would still need to put in time/effort, just not as much as currently, and they'd be paying other players for that privilege.

This is pretty dumb and its not even close to selling cleaned herbs to someone else.
I hope they at least make this option unavailable untill the first person has reached lvl 120 so that the people who are interested in racing (not me) have the change to do so without having to compete with people who bought 50% bonus xp.

Way to exaggerate while I share the same concerns but this is NO different from how you can buy shortcuts through grand exchange with other skills, buying unfinished potions for herblore, logs for firemaking, raw food for cooking, bones for prayer, so it has nothing to do with the concept of trading lamps, you still NEED to train invention by levelling up augmented items, item experience is just 50% faster, it's like they want agility to be more profitable for an option to gain divine charges.

If you can afford to buy a large chunk of unfinished potions and bones, herblore and prayer are some of the fastest skills to train although with a pricey cost.

The door was already cracked down for the slippery slope of selling XP years ago, wake up!

-edit- P.S. What competition? you do realize how many people have 200M Invention XP already, there is no competition in that skill anymore and Archaeology is not going to have any bonus XP applied from any form for 6 months.

According to the latest stream, they may consider it only to be applied on lvl 10 items - so you can get the bonuses of higher item lvls faster. Favouritismbtw - Love and light doesn't fix everything, neither does being blind to problems - Favouritismbtw.

Lol, you're worried about xp buffs created by players?

You do realize when invention was released, high level players had the advantage because of the disassembly xp on high tier gear that got majorly nerfed. People were 99 and above within a week or two.

But nevermind that, let's worry about nothing. Who cares what other people use or buy? Make money off it if you can, if you can't who cares? If you don't plan on using it, who cares? Just ignore it.

Dude, that's out the window since 2012. Be glad this xp trade is within the game and not from TH at least. And if it does get released by TH, welp. Why do you still care?
