Hi, I’d like to know your opinions on my idea of what I call “perfect” item. Those items will have a small bonus compared to “normal” item. Let’s take for example a “bronze platebody”:
1) If Bought from Grand Exchange or a player: you get a “bronze platebody” wich give 34 armour.
2) if you buy the ores or bars from Grand Exchange or a player and smith a “bronze platebody” it will still give 34 armour
3) if you mine the ores it gives your “perfect tin” and “perfect copper” which you smelt into “perfect bronze bar” and you smith those into a “perfect bronze platebody” which give 36 armour

In the example, I decided to go with a 5% bonus on armours and weapons (a perfect elder rune platebody +5 with a 5% bonus will give 525 armour instead of 500 and 672 HP instead of 640).

I think it could also work on dropped weapons and armour from monsters/bosses, let’s take “torva platebody” dropped from Nex:
1) bought from Grand Exchange or a player: you get a “torva platebody” which give:
- armour 389
- HP 220
- Prayer 3
- Strength 30

2) Dropped from Nex, you get a “perfect torva platebody” which give:
- Armour 408
- HP 231
- Prayer 3
- Strength 32

Now, I was thinking about making it 100% (either dropped or gathered items) a player who will mine copper will always get “perfect copper” and a player getting a “torva platebody” drop from nex will always get a “perfect torva platebody”. Although exchanging it with will turn it in a “normal” item and loose the 5% bonus.

That all I have to say for armours and weapons, I also have idea for the other skills but I won’t talk about it for now because I don’t know if my idea is good or not (pointless to go further if it’s a bad idea, right?) Also, I picked 5% bonus but Jagex remain free to choose a smaller or bigger percent and it goes the same with the 100% drop/gather item.

Edit: Forgot to say, but i think it will give the players a reason to make their own stuff, and go bossing to get a better equipment then those they buy on G.E

These 'perfect' versions would all be an actual different item from their original normal counterpart. Jagex said with the shelving of the bank rework that they would be pushed over the limit of item IDs when a placeholder of every item would added, so I think this idea might be not feasible for the same reason. Well, this wouldn't be EVERY item, and anyway at some point they'll have to make more possible item IDs.

There are quite a lot of armour items, and the limit wouldn't be a limit if they could increase it. Otherwise they would have given us the bank placeholders a long time ago. Messing with the very core of the game can break anything. It's like the thermal exhaust of the Death Star Luke threw a proton bom in.
