In anticipation of the release of 120 herblore and farming I bough this I’d contribute some of my own concepts for potions in line with those at RuneFest. This isn’t mostly me just fangirling but maybe Jagex can draw inspiration from these if they’re struggling to fill out the skill.

The two new types of potions introduced at RuneFest were Powerburst potions and Bombs. Powerburst potions would provide a very overpowered buff of effect over a short period of time, presumably with a cooldown. Bombs it seems are AoE effect potions. I’ve designed these new potions around these criteria.

Poisons

Grim Toxin: Teleblocks your opponent and slowly drains their run energy. I know everyone is going to hate me for this one but there’s a niche for it. As a PKer it’s pretty annoying trying to teleblock anyone without an alt when you’re PKing in Melee or Ranged because the spell splashes so often. This would resolve that issue.

Tarda Morten: This poison has an escalating DoT effect making it useful for long duration fights.

Death Spores: I don’t know if this one is possible -or even a good idea. But this poison would slow “adrenaline” gain for NPCs. This would work at places like Ripper Demons by making them perform their special attack less frequently if you can applying enough DPS.

Bloodroot: You’re opponent becomes more vulnerable to attacks thus making your attacks more accurate. Hopefully this could make weapons like Ripper Claws and the Wyrven C-bow tier-breaking.

*Poisons would override each other so you can’t make use of all effects at once.

Powerburst

Unlimited Surge: As presented at RuneFest. Unlimited surge from 30 seconds.

Shield Burst: Similar to the invention perk but it doubles your hp -filling our your hp bar out in blue. Incoming damage within the next 30 seconds depletes the blue bar. Works with onslaught.

Accuracy Burst: 100% accuracy for 30 seconds.

Divination Burst: Wisps yield memories at triple the rate but each wisp only last 5 seconds. You can instantly dump all memories into the crater.

Farm Burst: For the next 5 minutes, any patches you harvest yield double resources. Long cooldown.

Runecrafting Burst: For the next 5 minutes you craft double runes.

Thieving Burst: No-fail pickpocketing for X seconds. No-fail lock picking for X seconds. Safes solve on the first flash if you catch it.

Slayer Burst: For each slayer creature you kill within the next 30 seconds you gain a 1% damage boost against them for 5 minutes after the 30 seconds has ended.

BGH Burst: complete invisibility A very long call cooldown.

Adrenaline Burst: Fills our adrenaline bar once. You don’t gain the next 100% adrenaline. Alternatively, the adrenaline cap is raise don’t to 130 for 30 seconds. Think Telos Beam, Adrenaline potion, ring of vigor, and natural instincts.

Energy Burst: Halves global cooldown for 30 seconds. Not sure what use this’d have but ive loved the concept ever since throwing Knives in the weapon diversity beta.

*Numbers are just placeholders to illustrate the concepts.
*Take all the concepts with a grain salt. I was going for more powerful effects over niche or nearly uselessness effects. Effects can be changed or removed altogether.
*The idea is short but powerful bursts of power. Presumably they’d have long cooldowns.

Bombs

Gravity bomb: This potion drags all nearby enemies around a center point. Useful for clumping up mobs.

Poison bomb: AoE poison.

Sticky bomb: AoE bind.

Molotov: Defence debuff and damage.

Gas Bomb: Any opponents within the cloud of gas have reduced accuracy and damage.

Mind Bomb: Makes you and nearby players see crazy shit for no fucking reason. Absolutely zero use. Lvl 120

*Similar to the bladed dive ability, when you click on these your cursor will become the bomb icon and wherever you click will be the center point of the effect,
*They’d need to have long cooldowns

Splash Potions were mentioned in the 120 Herblore/Farming announcement, basically it's those throwable potions from Minecraft, throw them at an enemy to apply debuffs.

Bloodrot seems more like a Splash Potion to me, toss it an enemy to reduce defense. Also aren't Perfect Plus basically skilling overloads?

Various potion ideas:

Saradomin Splash: Throw at allies to heal them for 1K with no other effects. Stackable but has a 1 minute CD.

The problem with your "halves global cooldown" idea is that the game works by 0.6 ticks. The throwing knife effect stayed within this system as it changed the GCD to 1.2s rather than 1.8s, but yours would change the GCD to 0.9s which wouldn't work.

Alternative: Coffee

Reduces the GCD to 1.2s and causes all combo abilities to turn into DoT effects (same effect as Mutated Barge), lasts 60 seconds.

Twice as long as your suggested duration, but reduces GCD by 33% rather than half to work in the system.

Grass in a Glass:

While in a BGH instance, use this potion to instantly grow a 3x3 patch of Tall Grass anywhere. Grass remains until dinosaurs in that area next go into hiding.

Siphoning:

While using a shield, grants life steal equal to 0.1% per shield tier. Lasts 6 minutes and can be combined with an Overload.

Intended to be for tanking. While a T90 shield would grant 9% life steal, they'd be dealing notably less damage than 2H or dual-wield thus less healing.

Water of Yakamaru (Power Burst)

For 2 minutes, gain a Damage Soak buff stack every tick. For every stack, you gain 2% damage reduction and a 0.2% chance when hit of resetting the damage reduction and reflecting 100% of the hit that triggered it. Also gives you the effects of Weapon Poison++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ where your attacks can apply a poison that deals similar damage to a Dreadnip but every 2 ticks, bypasses poison immunity, and wears off when Water of Yakamaru expires.

Weak Point: Increases your weapon damage by 10% of your slayer level for every excess 1% hitchance above 100% against your current target. Caps at 150% hitchance

Example: With 120% hitchance and 80 slayer, your weapon damage is increased by 20 x 8 or 160.

Basically increases your damage in cases you have excessive accuracy such as slayer tasks. Potion has no effect when your hitchance is below 100%.

Hangover Cure: Grants 3 minutes of stun immunity, but every stun attempt reduces the duration by 30s. Can only be drunk every 5 minutes.

Inversion: For 6 minutes, replaces every damage increasing ability effect with damage reduction and replaces every damage reducing ability with a non-stacking damage bonus.

Examples:

-Sunshine instead reduces incoming damage by 50% as long as you're within the sunshine. Still damages enemies in the radius.

-Anticipation now increases damage by 10% for 10s plus stun immunity.

-Reflect now reflects 50% of damage you take and increases your damage by 50% for 10s.

-Berserk is now a 20s Barricade, but you deal 50% less damage (inverts 50% increased damage taken)

-Debilitate increases damage you deal to affected enemy by 50%.

Basically sacrifices your main DPS ultimates and turns a bunch of basic and thresholds into less DPS buffs. A tank is going to have a hell of a time with this potion.

Reprisal Mist Bomb:

Leaves a cloud that lingers on the ground for 1 minute. Enemies in the cloud take damage equal to 10% of the damage they deal to you as Reflect.

Typo Potion: Grants 30% damage reduction to all typeless damage (soft and hard). After reducing a total of 3K damage or 10 minutes, effect ends.

Niche potion for bosses with a lot of typeless damage attacks such as Nex or Arraxor.

Glue: (Splash Potion)

Throw at enemy to stun/bind. In PvP it also puts all mobility abilities on cooldown.
