Kings Abbotsaid: Wyldsaid: IvoryShotssaid: Foxxiesaid: Well, rather a Shift + Click "Turn" option. Simple little un-obtrusive QoL update
I like your suggestion +1
I also want to look in whatever direction I want, not just in the direction of someone I'm talking to, so this would definitely work. If I want to look exactly at something in the distance I should be able to do that.
Shift+click already makes you go to that point either walking if your running is turned on or running when your running is turned off (and if there is running energy of course). Perhaps Ctrl+click instead? support! I like the idea using [crtl] + click. Means more angles you can face to.
This does not exist because it would be annoying and get in player click areas, helping a player die etc.... a player should never have the option to face you unless it’s forced not in UI. You all want this to be put into game for romantical, reasons. So you can feel closer to the following player! You can look down and talk to your friends or stay looking at a pc screen and say will I want this ingame for whatever reason you wish..... in the end of day it’s not even something you normally even do yourself off of game.... what is the mean reason to this idea and what benefits do you really get off doing this....
Before any of you say you overthink this or you a downer, you will look at the person for a sec than look at your phone or whatever and speak to the person. It’s very rare now days to have a person face to face speaking the whole time unless they are being paid to do so, and allot of them people have a hard time doing it...
So being in the back of the player out of the face and not in the click area is best. Also each time you click you get a new angle if the thing your fighting is moving around you.

Gan nixsaid: Can I ask you Jagex to add a simple option to our Avatars please.
When I try and talk with a Friend I find I am always mostly talking with my back towards the Friend. It can be very hard to Face a Friend when talking (unless you want to go round in circles using the Follow option).
Can we click on our Friend’s Avatar please and use a option called
Face (or something like Face)
so making it more easy to Face the Friend we are talking to.
It is very rude to have you back towards a Friend you are trying to talk with. So please Jagex can you give us this simple option.
Come on Jagex you can do it. Please let me Face my Friend.
By "avatar" do you mean on the forums, game, or elsewhere in the RuneScape site? I'm a little confused by this suggestion and thread on the whole.
Trewavassaid: I didn't find this idea hard to follow.
The OP is simply asking for a way to 'face' their friends in-game, so that they can have a face-to-face conversation.
There's already a fair few ways to do this, but I guess it would be a nice QOL update.
Thanks for clarifying this. I did find it hard to follow but, in fairness, everyone interprets things differently, and I sometimes just get lost or confused with vagueness/lack of any specificity.
Yeah, agreed, there's ways to do this easily: use an item that'll trigger a Nothing Interesting Happens (for instance a ring of duelling) on said friend, attempting cast a spell on them when not in a PvP area, just right clicking them and sending them a Trade offer or a request for assistance, challenging said friend to a duel, the list goes on, etc.
I don't know if this is a needed update even Quality of Life-wise. Convenient, maybe, but, there's many things higher priority (in my eyes) than this even for QoL fixes. And sometimes, the fun of just finding a way to get your pet not covering up a friend when you move about to face them causes enough hilarity that, even if we could have this feature: would the game really be improved by Face my Friend, or, would social interaction and basic know-how be oversimplified? We've got plenty of vital community-focussed Right Click options and interaction options. Let's keep those and not clutter up the array of choices anymore because this is about balance. I respect the idea, but, I do not feel it's needed.
