Slayer is pretty cool but thereĺs a few spots that could use some improvements


Monsters

These monsters tend to have poor drops, i aim to make them more useful without breaking the game

rock slugs and giant rockslugs now can drop gold ore, silver ore, very rarely adamantite ore , very rarely limestone for construction(the stone item are a reference to the rockslug name), additionally they now very rarely drop a new item known as rock salve, when used, for a brief period of time if you are hurt while thieving, you are only stunned and take no damage(In reference to being a slimy crook and being protected by the rock)

Wallbeasts now can drop strength potions with 1 dose(In reference to their dangerous attack and threat to low levels) uncommonly, drop adamanite claws rarely and now always drop big bones

Killerwatts now when killed always drop a new item called watt plasma, this can be scattered for 20 prayer xp and can be used at poh altars but not ectofunus, this replaces ashes, additionally they now have an uncommon chance to drop rings of recoil and 3 dose run energy potions (the rings are a reference to them being full of static to hurt you and run energy potions for being full of energy)

Fever spiders now can drop 1 dose restore potions, plant cure potions and silk

Brine rats are fairly nice but i would make them always drop 1-22 bags of salt due to brine being a type of salt, additionally they may now drop brine darts, which are like rune darts but they can be used to kill rock slugs and lobstrosity (Gives ranged an underwater option)

Spiritual rangers now can drop yew long and shortbows, magic longbows, rune crossbows, rune arrows in quantities of 1-30, 25-300 feathers, rune arrow tips in amounts of 1-44

Cave krakens now commonly drop air runes, body runes, earth runes, rarely soul and astral runes and can drop any elemental tiaras

Bloodvelds and Superior ones now can since they are demons be hurt more with demonbane weapons, they may also randomly drop the bloody bracer drink, wildblood seeds and rarely wildblood hops

Desert lizards now have the option to purchase from slayer masters the ability to finish them off with ice spells instead of ice coolers

Equipment

I would like to propose that players can now buy from slayer masters and make broad knives, darts, throwing axes javelins, this gives ranged more variety then just broad bolts and arrows for killing turoth and kurasks, these would have a ranged strength of inbetween mithril and adamanite equipment

Bug lanterns used for fighting harpy swarms now count as a light source 1 when used in a dark area

Insulated boots are pretty weak for the two uses( killerwatt training and rune dragons) they have so i propose that instead, now they have a +8 defense bonus on all melee types, ranged and magic, this gives them somewhat better stats for those two uses


I feel that this would give some unpopular monsters more use and improve slayer training for players

I don't see the point in most of this. Most of the additions to droptables would leave the monsters being pretty much exactly as useless as they are now. I think it's fine for some monsters, especially monsters that are easy to kill and have low slayer reqs, to have rubbish loot. If they didn't have massively inferior loot to higher lvl monsters, there would be less incentive to actually train slayer and unlock the worthwhile monsters.

As for equipment, buffing insulated boots any amount is crazy given how cheap they are. They already have their niche uses and that is fine. Bug lantern counting as a light source, sure I guess. No support for more broad ammunition as it may crash addy darts.

I kind of agree with Notcool97. I wouldn't want to kill them but to skip them again.

All Slayer monsters have a unic drop. I would focus on that. I would give every Slayer monster a very desired item they might drop with little chance.

Imagine (eg) :

- Lizard, 1:2500 Death Staff (unlimited death rune)
- Wall beast, 1:5000 Eternal Gem
- Pyrefiend : 1:10000 Fire cape (unlimited fire rune when weild, stack with staff)
- Crawling Hand, 1:3000 Onyx Ring

and so on... Add very gorgeous and desired item to every Slayer monster. VERY low chance to drop but enough to make players not skip them. Its mental, if I know I might get something cool I wont skip.

A death rune staff would be unbelievably broken, you'd make every spell that costs a death rune cost like 200gp less than currently, while crashing the price of death runes.

An eternal gem already exists as a rare drop from superiors of any slayer monster.

Fire cape sounds underwhelming since we have a fire staff and tome of fire to provide unlimited fire runes, and taking up the cape slot would likely reduce your magic accuracy and damage bonuses so nobody would use it.

Onyx should be rare, and I personally don't think they should be available at all outside of Tzhaar city, so no support for that either.

Doing low lvl slayer tasks are rarely worthwhile but you can get lucky off of a superior and get an imbued heart or eternal gem drop and you can gain faster slayer reward points. I think that is enough given how low the requirements are for those monsters. As with most things in the game, if you want better rewards you must train the skill and unlock higher lvl content.

Who the fuck even gets these retarded ideas? This is the type of shit I suggest when I feel like trolling. It's sad to see that some people actually want them.

Either make that death staff 1 in 500,000 or give it a negative 40 magic attack bonus and no ability to autocast.
