Hello everyone,

not sure if someone has experience with my problem. I created a new account and started playing old school. After aprox. 10 minutes, just left tutorial island I got kicked out and the account was locked. The message was that it might be hacked.
Just to clarify my problem, I created a new e-mail address and created a new RS account with this address, logged in for the first time and got kicked out while playing the first session. So it is completely impossible that someone logged in, because I never logged out.

So after I reset the password I have the account back. Now you might ask what's the problem then?

The problem is, that this isn't happening the first time, my last account was also first accused of being hacked and some days after it got banned for macroing. Last time I used OSBuddy so I assumed that's the reason for the ban, that's why I switched back to the standard launcher.

So my Question is: Is there any obvious system driver for keyboard, mouse or gamepad that is falsely detected as a macro devise? Or is there any software that you aren't allowed to have running in the background?

Hey, Sysfee.

An account gets locked for security measures. If Jagex notices some suspicious activities going on, they will lock the account to protect it. This way, the real owner can send in a recovery request to retrieve it. You can read more about that here: My account is locked.

Furthermore,
it's essential to mention that using third-party software is at your own risk
. Jagex isn't responsible for anything that happens to your account. If your account is banned, compromised or the like, then you are responsible for that.

Thanks for your fast responses.

@TopBass:
I'm using a G.Skill Ripjaw keyboard and a Roccat Tyon.

@Wynd:
Yes and No. As several JMods confirmed at Reddit and afaik on Twitter OSBuddy is accepted. My problem is that the second account got locked even while I wasn't using any third party software and it was just 15 min old. So I must be missing something else.

Jagex's point of view regarding third party software is that you use them at your own risk. They aren't endorsed by Jagex. You will not get banned by simply utilizing a third party client; however, anything that happens to your account is on you.

Here's a quote from Mod Weath: "We've made our stance on the use of any third party clients very clear and we have no plans to change this stance in the near future. If you choose to use a client like OSBuddy (or any of the other clients on offer) then you do so at your own risk. You have to weigh up the pros and cons of using these clients and make an informed decision as to whether you feel the features offered are worthwhile."

And here is another one from Weath: "Just to further clarify, we wouldn't recommend using any third party clients because we can't guarantee that they are secure. We certainly wouldn't ban you for using them and they're not against the rules (unless you're using them to break one of the other rules...such as macroing)."

As you can see you will not banned for using it, but noone can guarantee they are safe. If you want to use it you are using it at your own risk.

Ok perhaps I need to specify my problem a little bit more. My old account was first locked because it was suspected to be hacked (which it wasn't as I know due to the faced it didn't move and the last logged in time was around the time I played). So I had to recover it. Some time later it was banned for macroing, which I certainly didn't. My guesses were, that the anti cheat software of Jagex either detected one of my hardware drivers, any other running software or OSBuddy.

Now I have this new account, which was locked 15 minutes after I created that account again for being suspected of being hacked. I'm worring that the account will get banned as well for macroing just because I havn't changed my hardware setup. I wasn't using USBuddy this time...

My question was, if there are any known problems with hardware drivers?

You can not have any third party software that affects the game program in any way. Some keyboards and mouse set up can have Macro programming that does this.

This, depending on your setup, may be your problem.
G-Skill Ripjaws =
"On-the-fly Macro Recording with Full Per-Key Programmability
6 Dedicated Built-in Macro Keys"

Roccat Tyon =
"The revolutionary EASY-SHIFT[+] feature is built into the Tyon games mouse, to activate a secondary function for each button on the mouse. It also features a comprehensive driver suite with onboard memory that gives you total control over your mouse. This easy-to-use panel means it’s possible to set macros."
