THE QUICK LIST OF LEADING

• • • • • •

Quick List Of Points (Detailed Below):

1. Make sure your fc is open for anyone to join.
2. Announce your fc as the new starting fc.
3. Add the other team's host for easier communication.
4. When the game is ending, announce your fc again.
5. In the pens, announce your fc as starting fc a few times.
6. Challenge/accept challenge from other host.
7. Upon entering the game, ask people to join Fast Sc fc.
8. Clear your fc at 19 minutes.
9. Remind people to wield an ammoless bow/staff by 18 minutes or hide attack options.
10. Ask people to refer white/blue dots to Fast Sc fc.
11. Call clay locations and ask others to do so.
12. Be calm and communicate with others if a pker appears.
13. Remind people that freeloading slows games down.
14. If you need to leave, attempt to find a replacement host.

LEADING

• • • • • •

1. Announce immediately within the Fast Sc fc that your fc will be the new starting or anti fc, e.g. '== Attention - New starting fc is Abc123 =='.

2. Ask the previous host if there are any problem players that need to sit games out. If there are, add the players to your ignore list that are sitting for more than 1 game (e.g. pkers). Those who are receiving a one game sit can just be kicked from your fc before you start the next game.

3. Find out who the current host of the opposing team is and ask them to add you to their friends list for easier communication.

4. When the '1 minute remaining' warning appears, ask everyone to deposit their items and hop to your fc. If hosting the starting fc, announce your fc as the starting fc a couple more times before hopping over yourself. If hosting the anti fc, announce that the same players that joined anti in the previous game should rejoin you in your fc (e.g. 'Same team for anti'). Keeping your name hidden until necessary helps prevent pkers crashing games through anti.

5. Once you are in the pens, if hosting start, announce in public chat, 'Starting fc is [insert fc name here]' a few more times. If hosting anti, make sure you have a minimum of 5 players in your fc. Try to ensure they are all above 110 combat. The only exception to this rule is if games are low on numbers. If you require more players, you may advertise your name as the anti fc in pens, such as '2 110+ players join [insert anti fc here].' Most hosts stand to the west side of the pen, just below the entry stile. This makes it easier for the two hosts to locate each other.

6. If hosting start, ask the Anti-Pk leader to challenge you when they are ready. Check the pens to ensure that most of the dots are purple before accepting the other host's challenge. We like our starts to be fast, but we try not to leave people behind if we can help it.

LEADING

• • • • • •

7. Upon entering the SC game arena, quickly announce in public chat, 'Join Fast Sc please.' Tell the fc that you will be clearing it shortly. At the 19 minute mark, announce, 'Clearing fc: Hop to Fast Sc now please' and kick all remaining players in there. Join Fast Sc yourself.

8. Ask within the Fast Sc fc for everyone to refer white/blue dots to Fast Sc fc.

9. Continue playing the game as normal by making tools and gathering clay. If hosting anti, you and your team may make armour/weapons and anti-pking supplies for protection, though remind them that they are not allowed to equip it unless a pker is present, and even then only after being given permission by you or the other host.

10. Call clay locations as you see them and ask within the fc, 'Everyone call your clay please.'

11. For the remainder of the game, call clays; ask for clay calls; ask white/blue dots to please join Fast Sc. If you see anyone not wielding a staff, ask them to please get one immediately. Remind people to collect until the 1 minute warning and not to freeload.

12. When the '1 minute remaining' warning flashes up, again ask everyone to deposit and announce the start fc for the next game if they were playing on start or to rejoin the anti fc if they were playing on anti.

13. When you need to leave, you may PM a rank in the fc who will handle finding a replacement and any announcements that come with it. If no ranks are present in the fc, please attempt to find a replacement host yourself. Preferably ask someone via PM that you feel is trustworthy and knows what to do. If that isn't an option, ask in the fc for a replacement host. Announce the host change in the fc once a replacement is found.

HANDLING A PKER

• • • • • •

In the event of a pker, ask players to give the pker's name, location and team. If the pker is on the starting team, ask the Anti-Pk team to be prepared (but NOT to engage in Anti-Pking duties yet). Locate the pker to confirm that they are really pking, and ask them to stop immediately, reminding them that this is a non-combat clan. If after 2 warnings they refuse to stop, ask the Anti-Pk team to gear up and perform Anti-Pking duties. Give the current location of the pker. Ask the starting team to continue collecting and calling clays. Ask people NOT to deposit anything in the base that the pker may find useful (e.g.: weapons, runes, armour, food or raw clay). Ask anyone who is standing around watching the battle to move away and to continue collecting clay. The quicker the game ends, the quicker you can remove the pker from the games. Both non-ranked hosts should add the pker to their ignore list to ensure that the pker cannot sneak back into games.

If the pker is on the Anti-Pk team, please confirm yourself that the person is actually pking. If they are, warn the starting team that they need to be careful and to deposit their items often to avoid the possibility of losing a lot of points. If possible, help locate a few higher level players to perform Anti-Pking duties. Ask them within the fc to gear up and 'base' the pker if possible. This means they attempt to keep the pker within or near the pker's base to prevent them getting out into the arena and causing more problems. Inform the fc that ONLY those named players may retaliate, and everyone else is to continue playing with caution. If they are attacked, they should retreat to a nearby fog or to their own base. If everyone retaliates, it becomes very hard to confirm who is actually pking, and who is fighting in self-defence. Again, ensure you add the pker to your ignore list.

SPLITTING GAMES

• • • • • • •

During events such as the Minigame Spotlight or Vic the Trader, we typically see far more players in our games than usual. In order to keep things running efficiently, we may opt to split games into multiple smaller groups using the friends chats Fast Sc2, Fast Sc3, etc for this purpose.

Games should NOT be split unless there are at least 30+ players in the game. This helps ensure that there will be enough players to keep both worlds running smoothly, seeing as the minimum is 10 players per world to be able to start a game. However, please keep in mind the reason for splitting games is to keep them fast, not just to get a smaller map. If a larger group is still running fast games, with sufficient calls, then there may not be a need to split yet.

Before trying to split games, please attempt to contact a rank, either through PM, or in our clan chat, 'Fast Sc Cc'. Our ranks are familiar with the process, and would be happy to help out if they deem it to be necessary to split. Conversely, if they don't think games need to be split yet, we ask that you please respect that decision.

If a rank cannot be located, please follow these steps to split games:

1. Look for an empty world - our usual backup worlds are 88 and 77. Starting games on a world with other groups playing, including starting a second Fast Sc game on w99, is discouraged. This causes confusion if both groups arrive at pens at the same time, with both sets of hosts trying to announce the start fcs and players unsure which to join.
2. Arrange hosts for the new world.
3. Announce in the Fast Sc fc that games are going to be split and ask some people to continue playing in the new world.
4. Give everybody plenty of time to hop worlds.
5. Mention that the in-game fc is Fast Sc2 (or higher if starting a third or fourth world) instead of Fast Sc.
6. Continue attempting to notify a rank as soon as possible that games have been split.

INFORMATION ABOUT RANKS

• • • • • •

CORPORAL
: Our Corporals are players who have been given the authority to assist in running games. These are entrusted players who are familiar with the rules and help to enforce them. These ranks are required to submit a report for games once every month.

LIEUTENANT
: Our Lieutenants are players that have proven themselves in-game as capable, dependable, and knowledgeable. Because of this, we have given them the authority to kick players that are breaking the rules from the official Fast Sc friends chat and host out of the official 456 chats. These ranks are required to submit a report for games twice every month.

CAPTAIN
: Our Captains are players that have proven themselves in-game as reliable, consistent, and resourceful. Because of this, we have given them the authority to run the official 456 friends chats while they play. These ranks are required to submit a report for games once every week.

GENERAL
: A Captain who has proven their loyalty and dedication to the clan through their actions may eventually be promoted to General. They go above and beyond what is asked of them, are approachable and carry themselves in a manner that complements the clan as a whole. Patience, understanding, maturity and sensibility are important virtues that we look for in a General.

BECOMING RANKED

• • • • • •

If you want to become ranked, just follow these simple steps:

1. BE NICE! We do not want to rank players with sour attitudes or foul mouths. We want ranks that are approachable, friendly, and helpful to their fellow players!

2. FOLLOW ALL THE RULES – this one speaks for itself.

3. KNOW THE RULES AND HELP THOSE WHO DO NOT – prove you know how our clan works by helping new players or those who accidentally break rules.

4. CALL AND SHARE CLAY – we expect our leaders to be examples in this regard.

5. PLAY OFTEN – the more you play, the more likely you'll get noticed by our ranks and mentioned in leader reports!

6. FILL OUT AN APPLICATION – we are always looking for players who share the same love of Stealing Creation as well as wanting to help games run as smoothly and efficiently as possible. If you believe that you fit this description, refer to posts 3.3 and 3.4 and fill out an application!

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

• • • • • •

We would like to look at a pool of prospective ranks that show interest in helping us run the clan. However, simply filling out an application does not guarantee a rank. It must be earned and can only be earned through observation of your conduct by current ranks.

IMPORTANT NOTE
: If you are currently banned from playing with our clan, or if you have repeatedly attempted to disrupt our games or chat in the past, it is likely that your application will be rejected.

Please take the time to fill out our short application in post 3.4 and a member of our Admin team will contact you in-game for follow-up instructions. Remember to have your PM set to 'on' or add the current Admin members listed in post 1.3 so we may be able to contact you.

After the application has been processed, our ranks will take note of prospective Corporals and send us their comments for up to two weeks. We will then make our decision and contact you again to inform you of the result, whether good or bad.

If your application is not accepted, don't be disheartened! We will explain what we feel was lacking, give you pointers on how you can improve, and you will be more than welcome to submit another application in four weeks time, should you feel you're ready. If you'd like further feedback on how you're doing, feel free to PM a member of our Admin team at any time, and we'd be glad to help out.

RULES FOR THE RANKS

• • • • • •

1. Be polite NO MATTER WHAT. Even if you are performing Anti-Pking duties or sitting someone, always have an approachable attitude.

2. Please help others by sharing clay and tools. Remember: 'Sharing is caring!'

3. COMMUNICATE with your fellow ranks in the fc and non-rank hosts about sits, how long you are playing (please give a 1-2 game warning before leaving in PM), etc.

4. Be helpful in the chat, remind players of the rules, and refer them here if necessary.

5. Play games clan side at all times.

6. Announce the next game's starting fc several times before a game ends. Please make every effort to not leave any players behind.

7. If we are low on players and you wish to play, please go recruit in worlds 45 or 62 instead of just giving up. Keep in mind that this may also bring pkers into games.

8. Select an Anti-Pk team consisting of trusted and reliable players. Higher level players are required so that they are able to perform Anti-Pking duties when necessary. Inform the Anti-Pk team to keep all armour and weapons in inventory until needed.

9. Fill out leader reports after every set of games you play. If you are inactive for too long, your rank will be lowered or removed.

10. Be active on the forum thread and attempt to read it daily. Refer new players to it if they have any questions.

11. If you are having a bad day, take a break from the game for however long you need to refresh yourself.

12. As long as you are a rank in this clan you will not be allowed to use an account name that is in bad taste. We also will not allow a name that is nearly identical to another rank's as this causes confusion for everyone. If unsure, please check with Admin.

13. Please continue to perform with the same leader qualities that earned you a rank in the first place. Failure to do so will result in your rank being removed without warning.

RULES FOR THE RANKS

• • • • • •

14. If you come to a game when another rank is already there, please defer to how they are running it at the time. Do not make fc or procedure changes right away because that can cause confusion among players and discord between leaders. If you have a disagreement over procedures with another leader, take it to PM or ask a General or Owner if we are online.

15. As a rank you are a representative of this clan. We will not tolerate any behaviour, such as disrupting other clans or using your rank to gain unfair favour or trust outside of SC, that could tarnish our reputation. This includes, but is not limited to, asking non-ranks repeatedly for money (gifts or lends), advertising our clan in other non-combat SC clans, or pking other non-combat SC clans. Behaviour that reflects badly on our clan may result in your rank being removed permanently and without warning.

ADDITIONAL RULES FOR STAR RANKS

• • • • • •

1. Be in the Fast Sc friends chat when possible to help leaders answer questions, remind players of rules, and help clear the starting fc's. Do not become a distraction in the chat and do not contradict the decisions of the rank that is present at the games. If you believe they are doing something wrong, talk to them about it in private chat. In the end, the leader AT the game makes the final decision. If you believe that they were making a serious mistake, feel free to talk to any of the Generals but only AFTER you have discussed it with the other leader.

2. ALWAYS CONFIRM any report of rule breaking. Do NOT kick anyone on the word of another player. Give 2 verbal warnings before removing anyone from the game. Only after the 3rd offence should they be kicked. The exception to this rule is 'deliberate pking, seriously offensive language and/or continual disruptive behaviour'.

FAST SC SMILEYS

• • • • • •

The main thing to keep in mind for Smileys is that it is NOT a position of authority nor is it a stepping stone to a higher rank. It is simply a symbol that this player is a 'trusted host'. In the event that the fc is left 'rankless' (i.e. no Generals, Captains, Lieutenants or Corporals are in the chat), games will run smoothly under their leadership.

** THE MAIN THING WE LOOK FOR WHEN DECIDING WHO TO ASSIGN AS A SMILEY IS THEIR ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE ABOUT HOSTING DUTIES **

Communicating about hosting duties in PM is vital. It is through PM that we organize host changes, who to sit for a game, and other important information that keeps our games safe, fun, and efficient.

Because of limited friends list space, Smileys will turn over much more quickly than star ranks. We will have few spaces available for this position, especially if our number of active ranks grows, so Smiley activity will be monitored closely. This is why another section will be included in our leader reports: 'Smileys present'.

This is a purely volunteer position. If a Captain believes someone has been a helpful and trustworthy host, they may ask them if they would be interested in this position. This could be as simple as 'Thanks for your help hosting today! Mind if I recommend you for a Smiley?' ... and then, of course, explaining what that is if they haven't read this thread (see the 'Smiley Expectations' in the following post).

FAST SC SMILEYS SUMMARY

• • • • • •

What this
DOES
mean:

Smileys should be willing to communicate with ranks in PM during their time in games.
Smileys should be familiar with the rules of our clan and follow them at all times.
Smileys should be familiar with hosting procedures and follow them.
Smileys should be okay with being PMed to take over hosting if necessary.

What this does
NOT
mean:

Does NOT mean Smileys always have to host every time a rank asks.
Does NOT mean Smileys is a requirement to be given a higher rank in the clan.
Does NOT mean Smileys have leadership responsibilities to the clan.
Does NOT mean Smileys can monitor the fc or be off-world in the fc.

Hello everyone! :)

Stephen and I wanted to wholeheartedly thank everyone who participated in Minigames Weekend. We consistently had multiple worlds up and so many of you bent over backwards to help keep things running smoothly. At times like this, it's important for us to realize that none of this would be possible with out all of you. Our community of ranks has always been a very special group (some more "special" than others, if you get what I'm saying :P ). You're all committed to helping players out and you give up your precious game time week-after-week to serve our gamer population and make sure they're calling and sharing their clay.

In short--
... to the members of Admin, retired and current alike: most of you gave up your whole weekends to help coordinate hosts and games. We truly couldn't have done it without you. Thank you.

... to the ranks who've been through a double points weekend before: you came in knowing what to expect and still showed up this weekend. Some even came out of retirement to live through it again. Your perseverance through chaos is admirable. Thank you.

... to all of our new ranks that hadn't ever experienced a double points weekend: your baptism by fire is complete. If you can handle this weekend, you can handle anything. Thank you.

... to all of our players: thank you for giving us something to do. It goes without saying, but without people playing SC, our friends chat, like many others, would no longer exist. Thank you for entrusting us with your time this weekend. Thank you.

To everyone: THANK YOU!

Fast Sc will be hosting a stealing creation event at 22:00 game time!

In w88, we will best hosting
COMBAT
games out of our FC "Quick Sc".

The world and FC changes are so our players do not think this is standard practice in our w99, Fast Sc games.

See you all there!

Up in Adminland we've been talking about potentially changing the game requirements for our ranks. First and foremost, our goal is not to increase your burden as a rank, but we do feel that the corporal and lieutenant requirements could be reevaluated to increase rank engagement with the FC. THIS IS NOT A SET PLAN. WE ARE LOOKING FOR FEEDBACK. IF WE GET ENOUGH PUSHBACK AND PEOPLE WANT TO KEEP IT THE SAME, THAT IS COOL, TOO.

We just don't think playing one game every three months accomplishes the outcome we had in mind when the corporal rank was introduced (that is, the corporal rank was never meant to be a rank where you stayed for many months--it was simply meant to be a low-threshold "welcome to the FC" and we fully expected ranks to want to play more than one game every three months, resulting in their promotion to lieutenant when they played more than their requirement). We are realizing, however, that many corporals are not playing more than their requirement, and as a result, we have a substantial rank population that hardly interacts with the larger FC community. Three months is a long time to remember how we do things, and many corporals who use their full three months between games often need refreshers and feel uncomfortable leading games right off the bat when they come back. This is not what we want.

As a result, we want to change the corporal game requirement. But to keep our ranks proportional, we will also then need to change the lieutenant rank requirements accordingly. The captain rank game requirement will not change.

We have two proposals. One is the traditional game requirement. The second changes our perspective: the requirements changes to a report-based requirement, rather than games.

Proposal 1:
Captains: 1 game per week
Lieutenants: 1 game per 2 weeks
Corporals: 1 game per month

Proposal 2:
Captains: 1 report per week
Lieutenants: 2 reports per month
Corporals: 1 report per month

Of course, there are lots of numbers we can substitute for the above. Either way, Admin will still be keeping track of games played for promotion and cookie purposes. Part of Admin is of the opinion that monthly engagement with the FC shouldn't be too much to ask for any of our ranks, but we're aware that bi-weekly requirements for lieutenants may be frowned at. This is what stimulated our discussion of having report-based requirements instead. The report-based requirement is simply us counting the number of reports you post. This is better, in our minds, than saying lieutenants are required to play 2 games per month. In that case, our goal of increased engagement with our FC doesn't get met because you can easily get it done in one go. Therefore, 2 reports per month means that you'd have to visit the FC on 2 separate occasions in 1 month, which does help us reach our goal of increased rank engagement, while allowing you to do those 2 visits any time you want over the month, rather than restricting you to bi-weekly requirements. We think this flexibility is valuable.

We'd like to hear your perspective on this. If you think no change is needed, please tell us. If you think you'd like to see a change, but neither of these two proposals are things you like, please tell us what you think would be better. If you like one proposal over the other, please tell us. If you like the game proposal but don't like the numbers we chose, please tell us.

PLEASE TELL US HOW YOU FEEL.

IMPORTANT RANK-RELATED ANNOUNCEMENT
:

Hello friends,

Thank you for your feedback. From what we have seen in the comments when we proposed a rank requirement change, most of you are for proposal 2 (imposing a report requirement as opposed to game requirements). This leaves flexibility for our lieutenant ranks, which will be key to those playing predominantly during Spotlight. Since the majority are for this change, this new rank requirement (as shown below) is effective beginning the week of
November 4
.

Corporals, under the old system your next game/report was due by December 29, 2018. You must now post a report by the end of November, and at least once per month from then on.

The new requirements:

Captains: 1 report per week
Lieutenants: 2 reports per month
Corporals: 1 report per month

Thanks again everyone for the feedback and please bear with us as we make the transition. If you have any questions regarding this change, please PM any member of Admin on any platform.

Yes, as our lovely Ceecs told you, every game we play accomplishes the achievement (we play by exhausting the map). So feel free to join whenever we have games up!

We have a Discord channel for easy ways to tell if we have games up. Otherwise feel free to join our FC to see, too!

Hello friends!

Stephen, myself, and the rest of Admin have exciting news for Fast Sc.
We made the decision to bring in two new (read: old) members of Admin.
Fast Sc has seen an influx in new ranks recently (one year ago we had 20 total ranks; now we're up to almost 30!). With larger numbers of people to make fun of, motivate, and keep track of, it's important we have an Admin staff that is at full capacity to meet your expectations and also ensure our FC is running smoothly.

Thunderkitty

As many of you know, and as some of you young'uns might not know, Kyle has a very long record with Fast Sc. Kyle first joined us in December of 2010 (he's older than me, can you believe it?) and he was first promoted to Admin in July of 2011, where he served in his gold star capacity for one year until he retired in 2012. He then came back and served as Admin for another year, from 2013-2014. He presumed his Fast Sc journey was done, but as we all know, Fast Sc is an illness without a cure. Kyle returned to us in March 2018 where he has steadfastly proven himself as responsible, reliable, and consistent in his game play, as well as mature in his dealings with other ranks and players. Kyle has the qualities of any good Admin player: he communicates clearly, plays regularly, and knows all the workings of our group and handles himself in a calm, mature manner. We're very happy he has chosen to come back after his hiatus from Adminland!

And as more of you young'uns probably know, Ryan also has a history with Fast Sc. Ryan first joined Fast Sc in July 2016 and was promoted to Admin the following October 2016. He stayed with us until May 2017 and then came back on board July 2017 until December. Ryan is a dedicated player that knows how to handle himself in tough spots and connects well with players of all types. His level-headedness and maturity are very valuable to our team. Thankfully, he decided to rejoin the fun, and we can't be happier to have his opinions back in the mix!

Please join us in welcoming back both Kyle and Ryan to Adminland! Because both of them have years of combined experience under their belts dealing with Admin work (and serving as ranks generally), our plans are to throw them right into the mix. We're very excited, and we hope everyone joins us in celebrating their return!

Thank you!

Our 10th Anniversary thread is now live!

• • • • • •
EVENT INFORMATION
• • • • • •

Fast Sc is very excited to get our event promoted with the PinkSkirts. The details of our event are as follows:

When
: Saturday, January 12, from 20:00-21:00 game time
Where
: World 99 @ Gamers Grotto - Stealing Creation large pens
Friends Chat
: Fast Sc
With Who
: Fast Sc ranks + PinkSkirt members Aod Mom and Saint Cannon
What
: Non-combat stealing creation to celebrate Fast Sc's 10th anniversary. Our ranks will handle hosting the anti-chat so that all players who come need only join "Fast Sc" and will not have to switch chats like they normally would for non-combat stealing creation games. It will be easy, smooth, and a great way to get involved with a community event!

Hi friends!

We are thrilled to announce our continued partnership with the Pink Skirts events team. Our 10th Anniversary went so smoothly, we are going to start monthly, Jagex-supported stealing creation events in our FC!

Just like it was in January, these events will run in a modified way from our normal games. We will have fixed anti teams consisting of as close to 5 ranks or trusted players as possible, and the main starting chat will be Fast Sc. Temporary ranks will be granted to our PMod co-hosts and our off world policies will be enforced, whereas our rules on off-topic conversations will be more lax.

Next event date:
-
Thursday, February 21, at 2:00 GMT (Wednesday, February 20, at 9PM EST)

See everyone there!

Do you guys still play stealing creation? The main world is almost nearly empty and I would do anything to play stealing creation again, even if the combat is out of the question.

As Kyle said above, yes, we still play! Join the friends chat "Fast Sc" to check if you're online, otherwise feel free to join our Discord community at http://discord.gg/AgdH779. We have games up most weekend days and usually 2-4 times during the work week. PM any of the Admin listed on the first page if you have questions. :)

Hi, Gengar! That's a good question. Piano Man's name when he retired was A Cappella, so that's the name that he has on the honorary list. :)
