Hey Guys,

Lately I noticed that in some particural places my game fps drops down drastically.
I've noticed it happening during Elite Dung fights, especially on last bosses like ambasador or seiryu. Eg. During assault screen seems to feeze for a split second or suddenly it feel all like slow mo. It did not happen like that before. Average fps in max guild was ~80-110 and when entering to specific locations it might go down to 20-30 when before it was somewhere around 70-80.

For any further question, my specs are gtx 970m, i7-6700hq, 16gb ram. I thought my card might be dying but other games like far cry 5 or witcher 3 are working just fine.

I play on custom Mode with most of the details turned off or low but graphics are a bit more than med . Draw distance high, fps are set for 200 and background 30.
I tried rebuilding cache but it did not help.

Any guesses?

Thanks

What happens if you drop FPS target to 60?

EDIT
Rationale: Your target is 200. Your average is around 110.
This means your card is maxed out.
This results in high heat generation, which reduces available performance and stability.

I'm wondering whether setting your target to something reasonable (and half of what your card is currently doing), would result in a beneficial effect to performance.

Tried this earlier but didn't notice any significant improvement. Now laggs would happen during whole ed fights ;/

Hm.
You may want to try in compatability mode, and see if anything similar happens.

You'll see a "Runescape" menu on the client, top-left, prior to logging in. Find the settings in there, then change the Graphics mode and restart the client.

Not sure if it's going to help all that much, but if the issue is related to graphics in any way, you may find you have no issues. It's not a solution, but it might lend some insight that supports diagnosis.
