Jokku23said: Old level-up messages looked much cooler! Gz on that rare drop! Well done, make Vorkath pay for the sad dragonkin who killed Bob!
Yeah, I prefer them too. Cheers!
For Vorkath, I calculated that using the same setup otherwise, if I trained my attack and strength from 85 and 86 respectively both to 99, it'd give a rough 19% increase in dps. Whether to binge train those or just keep doing this the way I have for now, that's the question.
xBunnysaid: Keep it up! I like how you are using pics to update.
Jokku23said: Woot!!! 36M again? Killing Bob was a costly mistake for the sad dragonkin! I hope you get one more! Cheers!
Nah, it's 105m for both in total; the price peaked again because the dragon hunter crossbow was buffed to be very useful against dragons now, so the dragonfire ward became meta to be coupled with the crossbow. The ward is effectively like a dragon defender and a dragonfire shield combined, but for ranged instead. > )
Jokku23said: She looks a lot like Anja! Does she give free stuff, too?
She gives free toasts for sure!
Jokku23said: Haha cowbell bummer! Should the outfit give double loot? You should test if it works on Anja!
Yes & it does work on Anja; and while I was testing it out, I killed her afterwards and she dropped an easy clue scroll, cheers! > )
Jokku23said: Very cool you got KQ head so early! 8) I remember seeing many people rage about that task!
Yeah I've heard of a few people going 300-400 kills dry without one, even one of the jmods said on a stream (I think it was Mod Mat K) that they had to struggle for over 400 kills before getting one. So when a player suggested the head to be guaranteed at 128th kill, he wasn't feeling very supportive of it and wanted others to feel the love or hate of RNG as well.
Jokku23said: Congratulations on these achievements and *checks hiscores* 2005 total! That was a good year, welcome to the 21st century! Cheers!
Jokku23said: That's cool, I might grow some cats if there is an Easter event!
Wait a sec, 1/34440 laps?? That sounds pretty rare then! But maybe your 200m agility in RS3 helped!
Which do you prefer, Ardy course or Hefin course?
It's the base chance on that course; each level decreases the number by 25, so at 90 agility it'd be 1/32190. But yeah, even with that, on average it should take you past 20m+ agility exp to get the pet on that course!
Overall, I'd prefer Hefin course because of its scenery, free prayer exp and more balanced exp output (I think OSRS is at that point where all skills should have a 100k exp/hour method at 90+, but not higher than that). But Ardougne course is better in terms of making money; I didn't get even a fraction of the 200m exp in gp for doing Hefin, whereas if I did 200m agility at Ardougne, at current amylase prices I'd make about 840m gp, which is even more insane if compared to the value of gp in RS3! > )
Jokku23said: Yea but now your name is Blackwing! The dragon is black and has wings so this makes sense!
Oh yeah, I didn't remember that I didn't have the same name back then; makes sense now!
Jokku23said: Nice house btw, quick access to portals and spirit tree! Although, the location in Rimmington is most important.
It's still slightly unfinished, but all the necessities are there, yes. And Rimmington is a nice location for my daily farm run too, because it has a bush patch right next to the portal, so I can grab 4 poison ivy berries from there and 4 more with Ardy cloak from next to the monastery, for a free payment of the calquat tree! > )
Dong U Deadsaid: It's must be the fisrt time I popped in here, as I didn't recognize the title (not sure if you've changed it?). Anyway what a lovely concept using pictures - very good looking thread. And I wish you the best.
Yeah, I remember you paying a visit to my previous thread, which I discontinued in favor of starting fresh with this mostly-images format. Cheers for your support! > )
Jokku23said: She is better because of lower chance to fail, right?
You stop failing to pickpocket Ardy knights at 95 with Ardy cloak 2 or better, and AFAIK, Anja has the same rates for pickpocketing as regular men/women, which I vaguely remember hearing from somewhere that you never stop failing to pickpocket them for some reason... but even if you do, Ardy knights give more exp and gp! > )
Lol is there really a gnome child banner? Not as good meme as ankous imo but the old chathead is old school and kids ftw!
Gg Zulrah! Cheers! And yeah, there's a banner like that, it's just not very useful in any way! > )
I've begun to rework the thread, changing from weekly updates to making updates when something important happens, because I've largely reached the point where not much happens besides gaining skill levels, so it's better to just update when something does occur.
Saviourssaid: Congrats on all the progress so far You're coming along quickly on osrs Cheerio, bratan! > )
Went back to pest control today to complete elite mage void, as well as nightmare zone to imbue ring of suffering:
I decided to start learning Zulrah further as well, to have another source of income in case something happens to Vorkath (should Jagex decide to nerf it in the future). I have only 8 kills atm, but they're going so smoothly already that doing a few kills daily should be no problem, so I'm making a separate thread for daily loot from Zulrah, and keeping this thread as the more long-term goals oriented thread. > )
Beaver the woodcutting pet dropped at 89 woodcutting! > )
(Base drop rate: 1 / 264,336 teak logs chopped)
It was hilarious; I was focusing on something else when I noticed at a glimpse some odd movement on RS, and as I saw the beaver, I thought someone had hopped under me (as people usually do when they're chopping teaks at the hardwood grove). Only after right-clicking under me and not seeing anyone did I pay attention to the chat and noticed the drop!
Beaver is definitely one of the better pets IMO, and much better than woody in RS3.
Finished all the remaining miniquests, and completed the new "Tale of the Righteous" quest.
Imbued god cape from mage arena 2 is going to boost my Zulrah DPS by about 3.33%, which is nice, and I managed to avoid PKers altogether, which was fantastic. > )
On the other hand, finishing the remaining Zeah favour for architectural alliance was dreadful after Jagex nerfed it recently, and "bear your soul" had me searching almost the whole library of Arceuus before I found the bookshelf with the soul journey book... meh.
Collin892said: You've done very well so far Blackwing!
Keep up the great work, and congrats on all your progress so far. Cheerio! > )
Jokku23said: Kalut the Moon Shadow! Gz on 99 hp!!! You should have killed a hobgoblin instead, but nice to see you still hang out at Rimmington crafting guild!
Congrats on Beaver as well - you got lucky!! Cheers! I picked a cow to range over the fence so that the target wouldn't retaliate and cancel the level-up message, but maybe it would've worked on a hobgoblin too.
My luck at Vorkath has been pretty insane... two skeletal visages in a few hundred kills and now this. Meanwhile at Zulrah, which is supposed to be the consistent rare dropper of the two, my luck has been awful so far. Although, dragonbone necklace has a drop rate of 1 in 1000, so I'm kinda dry on that one yet. I wouldn't mind another skeletal visage though! > )
Vorkath is such good ranged training that I won't stop at least until I'm 99 ranged, if at all.
I also noticed that all my pet drops have the number "9" associated with them... hmm...
Jokku23said: No "arrowheads confirmed" for 99 fletching? 8) I wanted to keep the theme consistent, and there are no Blackwing Link monsters currently! > /
Jokku23said: And is that Lunar Isle? Tell us about that. Why you left Rimmington?
Congrats anyway! Very cool progress again since my last post!
Are you using sad dragonkin as a pet now? Cheers! I went to the Lunar bank because it's the most frequently used bank by people going to Vorkath, and so having Vorki there sparks quite a lot of conversations for some reason. > )
In general I like to use the respective skilling pets while training the skills they represent, and boss pets while doing other things that don't give pets (aka slayer and bankstand skills).
200 million total exp achieved with average skill level of 93.3! > )
Minimum total exp required for max cape is just under 300 million, and even though I have some post-99 exp in my 99 skills, about 2.5m in total across all of them, I only need about 102 million more exp to max the remaining skills to get the cape! Runecrafting will suck though.
Mutagens are for recoloring the serpentine helmet, which I have been using while meleeing Vorkath. The standard green one is kinda meh and doesn't really fit any of my combat equipment, but the magma one fits them all. Here's a comparison for my melee Vorkath setup.
(Left - Standard | Right - Magma)
But with that said, the pet snakeling is more common than the mutagens, so missed out there.
It would be cooler to see bigger pictures than the chat box! I was wondering where you kill them because I don't remember getting that message about investigating plaque. Cheerio! There are abby demons in catacombs of Kourend, and that plaque is on a statue that hides the entrance there. Slayer tower would give more slayer exp, but catacombs give totem pieces so that I can do more Skotizo kills, as well as giving back some arclight charges! > )
Here's a bigger picture; the rope is the entrance.
For the first time, a 99 in a skill that I did get the pet before reaching 99! > )
I kinda wish that I had the time to go for 200m agility in OSRS too, but unless Jagex adds actual incentives to keep training past 99 in OSRS (since I got the pet already), it'd just take way too long to be worth it. Maybe one day I could go for 120 if they added a cape for it.
Still need to do Brimhaven arena for graceful outfit recolor, though.
...and the respective Blackwing for the agility skill is:
Is agility your favourite skill in Old School, too? I hope you at least tried Wildy course btw, to experience the true old school feel! Cheerio! And yep, run energy and shortcuts have a much bigger impact on OSRS too!
I did try the wildy course, it was needed for a task in the wilderness diary.
Jokku23said: Favourite role at BA? Mine was healer because I healed myself all the time and could never die! Attacker; it's a good mix between enjoyability and complexity. Defender is fun when it works, but it gets so messy at times with the runner AI. Collector is pretty much braindead. And lastly about healer, it's alright with two healers, but alone it's so sweaty between having to poison healers and heal teammates (on later waves).
Although, I'm pretty proud about one time being the only healer: on the queen wave, our defender (level 35 hp and mediocre defense) had to keep luring runners while the queen had already spawned. He almost died at one point, but miraculously I managed to keep all of us alive through that mess! > )
Jokku23said: Cool, sad it's only 400k though Very old school item! We need a dragon chainbody sink!
Jokku23said: Gz!!! And you have not played even a full year yet! If you had started when Old School was released, it would have been cool to see how the ranks would then have looked! Yeah, it'd be nice to max in a year or less. If I had started when OSRS was released (well, I kinda did; I logged in to complete the tutorial island and quit after) though, back then I was a lot less efficient than nowadays, so I doubt I would have made nearly as much progress as now. > )
Jokku23said: And only 4 agility levels for Brimhaven agility! Agility levels...?
Almost 84 runecrafting now, so 2 more levels + scraps left.
