"All Abroad!"

Note:
This will, by necessity, be a long post.

I have an idea for a quest. However, this quest is sort of unique in that the main character of this quest isn't the player's character. The main character of this quest is, in fact, everyone's favorite wide eyed, aspiring adventurer-in-training, Meg! Now hear me out:

The khans of the Wushanko Isles have grown uncomfortable with the increasing influence of the new portmaster from the Western Lands; helping protect the weak from their power, saving sky and sea orphans, settling disputes among the dispirate factions, and building up a loyal group of formidable allies in the process (i.e.- the Port NPCs). They have even dared to go so far as to come to the Arc themselves to meddle in affairs that are none of their business. The death of warlords as feared and powerful as Quin and Kakashi/Davosi has shown them that this upstart must be stopped. A tenuous alliance is formed, and they have the portmaster kidnapped and brought to the Wushanko Isles where they can "put an end" to the portmaster's interference.

Meg witnesses the kidnapping of the portmaster (i.e.- the Player's character). Seizing the opportunity for her own adventure (and wanting to help, of course) she decides to prove herself by staging a daring rescue and ultimately foiling whatever evil plans are afoot! However, she soon finds she is woefully unequal to the task. She reasons that her downfall is a severe lack of experience, and turns to the people she knows have experience aplenty: the Port Adventurers! It takes some convincing, but despite Meg's somewhat annoying personality and out of gratitude and loyalty to the Portmaster for everything he/she has done for them all, they unanimously agree to help. The Port Adventurers team up with the crew of the Sarim's Revenge, and the eclectic group sets sail for the Wushanko Isles once again!

(...Quest Idea Continued From Above)

It should be noted as a very important feature here that the player would be playing the quest as Meg. Therefor, regardless of the player's skill levels, they should at least be starting out with skill levels no higher than those of a mid- to high- level Novice (whatever Jagex should decide those to be). A feature of the quest could be multiple levels of Novice, Expert, and Master replay where, if you have completed the previous level of replay, you are able to replay the quest with higher skill levels, theoretically making the replays gradually easier and each level of replay having their own rewards.

Another idea is, considering the number of characters that would be involved, the story of the quest could be told in parts or installments (similar to "Monkey Madness" or "Sliske's Endgame" ) where Meg works with three or four of the Port Adventurers for each installment, and her skill levels increase with completion of each installment.

Another must-have feature of this quest would be the involvement of all Player-owned Port NPCs. Meg and the twelve adventurers would perform the quest, but the secondary NPCs (i.e.- the Black Marketeer, Barmaid, Trader, Navigator, and Seasinger Umi) should all at least have cameos. Trader and Black Marketeer could "acquire" needed items or equipment, Barmaid could provide information via gossip, etc. The crew of Sarim's Revenge should also have an appearance as well.

(...Quest Idea Continued From Above.)

The rewards for this quest are obviously up to you (Jagex), but some suggestions I would offer are:

- Improved rewards from Meg's weekly adventure for high level players. Maxed players don't necessarily need exp. lamps. Maybe the ability to choose which of the Port-related skills the lamp you receive gives experience in? After all, who needs Dungeoneering XP when their Dungeoneering level is 120?

- The ability to send a Port Adventurer on a voyage with Meg to gain unique rewards from Meg's weekly voyag based on the adventurer's port-related skill.

- The ability to choose once per week, from a randomly determined selection of four, which port adventurer(s) visit your port that day.

- Unlocking outfit overrides in the Customization Interface based on the Port Adventurers' outfits. I personally would love to have a Convict, Occultist, or Whaler outfit override!

It should be noted here that this quest shouldn't have overly difficult tasks or puzzles to overcome. Nor should it have an insanely powerful boss to fight at the end. This quest should be a serious story, but also be lighthearted, fun, and humorous. And by "humorous", I mean veritably ***stuffed*** with RuneScape-type puns!!! A few features could be humorous short cut scenes where the adventurers are attempting to teach Meg to hone her skills in preparation for the coming events, and her failing in funny ways. Another idea could be Meg's permanent in-port outfit improving to include bits of armor, talismans, weapons, etc. as you complete installments or levels of replay in the quest if one of those ideas were used. Maybe a new hat from one of the adventurers like their own. or maybe the ability to customize Meg's appearance to influence what types of activities she asks the Player for advice on.

(...Post Conclusion, Continued From Above)

A most important part of the quest would be at the conclusion. With a successful rescue and defeat of the bad guys, the Port Adventurers all develop a sense of respect for Meg's bravery and persistence, and acknowledge Meg as having become a serious, skilled adventurer they would be glad to have at their side in the future. Also, a heartfelt thank you from the Portmaster for acting on their behalf and rallying such a group of dispirate characters.

Thanks, Tuffty.

For some reason, I couldn't find the correct forum section to post this idea in. I thought maybe they got rid of the forum for players to post their ideas. Anyway, thanks for relocating this for me. Now, Just hoping enough/the right people read this and like it to see it happen.
