This weapon is broken and is making the PvP portion of the game unbalanced in the worst way. Currently, there is 0 reason to go above 50 attack unless you are 100+ combat.

gmaul beats every spec weapon and it costs nothing, so not only is there no risk but there is also high reward since you have a chance to kill anyone under 100 combat who is pking.

Im honestly disappointed that the devs have not looked into this yet, its a wide spread epidemic that has rendered all other weapons useless or simply a niche.

Just because it was done wrong in original 07 does not mean the mistakes should still be kept here. A cheap cost and cheap requirement weapon should not be dominating the PvP zone. It also prevents any future weapon additions, since you can combine the gmaul with everything and trying to live thru 4 instant hits is just silly, basically non stop 1 shotting people, no other weapon has that ability.

There is no counter to it, no strategy and no skill gap.

Make PvP fun again and let people start exploring different builds, enough of this 1 trick abomination, it has gone far enough.

Gmaul is fine make it a super rare drop from guardian boss so it's not so easily obtained and make them degrade overtime to nothing or take cash like barrows 50/50 chance so the current amount of them diminishes over time therefore making them a decent value and a good drop from pvp. If obtained from a pvp kill insert same mechanic where it's 50/50 nothing or granite maul (0) for example and you need to repair it..good money sink Veteran player old school to rs2 to eoc to quitting then back to osrs

Gmaul is fine? there is nothing fine about it... Take your blinders of please, the weapon is broken in every way shape and form. Its pretty much 1 hitting players from full hp because of the insane combinations u can do with it.

basically, any weapon+gmaul spec and it does not matter what food or HP you have... That is simply unbalanced....

Nerfing this weapon(like it should of been done in 07) would be one of the greatest things to happen to OSRS and PvP....It would open up and make a bunch of new builds viable again, such as a DDS..... Currently, there is no point to lvl above 50 attack if you are a pker that isnt a zerker/100+ combat, and thats simply broken game mechanics.

make it 55% spec, so that you can still combo with it, but not 1 auto attack,+2 spec hits+1 more afterwards....

Otherwise the only other option is to make this item difficult to acquire or very expensive, because currently there is no risk and all reward and thats just poor balancing by the devs as it was back in the day as well. Lets not let past mistakes continue for no other reason then just because thats how it was back in the day...

The granite maul is perfectly fine and is not in any way shape or form an overpowered weapon.

I shall now educated you as to why this is;

1. It is inaccurate

2. If you are a good pker you can predict the special attack and combo eat

3. You can no longer pre-load the special attacks

4. Once you have used your special attack you rarely use it again for the duration of the fight.


Now you state that 55% would be a good idea - however this would render it unusable versus other weapons and thus nullifying low level player-killing.


Think first before you rant about weapons.

It should be 55% as default and 50% after you complete some new quest or content that gives def exp. Because as mentioned earlier its only broken in pure vs pure fights.
