Hello Jagex! :)

I currently have a suggestion that I think would be beneficial to the community!

Idea:
PKing Practice NPC

An NPC located somewhere near the duel arena, or clan wars that you can right click on with an option that says "Practice". Upon clicking "Practice" an interface will come up and allow the user to change the settings of what the NPC will wear and use for gear as far as pking. The NPC will have the ability to switch armor, switch prayers, and really test the opponent.

For example, I could set the NPC to use full mystic armor with Ancients, and use the ice barrage spell for its magic attack, and black d hide armor for his range gear setup, followed by a rune set with a whip. Then I could select the NPC's special attack weapon such as a Dragon Dagger, or Granite Maul.

Maybe a coffer type system so the players have to pay a fee of 10,000gp to practice. If you win the fight you can get points to use to unlock different settings for the NPC.

Pros:
This would give players a chance to practice pking in different forms. (bridding, pure, zerker etc..)
The players would still use their own armor, potions, runes, etc, so that would give them more of a challenge to actually win.
This idea would bring more players to the Pking scene, and the reason I say that is because there is a lot of people who don't do pvp because they don't know how, and they dont feel like risking half of their bank to learn.

This is my suggestion, and it would be an honor to have something like this in the game. If anyone else has any ideas to contribute to this, feel free to share. I have played runescape for a long time, and this would certainly get me out pking more often!

Thank you Jagex for taking a look at it! :)

There is already too little risk in the game as there is.

If we had this, literally everyone could practice PVP and never risk a single item, if you want to practice PVP i say you should just take cheaper equipment and learn with that, or risk losing high level stuff.

What? This response makes literally no sense? I usually agree with your replies but this time I feel you're just saying no for the sake of saying no here.

People wouldn't continually fight the 'practice pvper' like you're suggesting here, as they wouldn't gain anything from it. People, myself included, would use this to practice precisely what OP is saying here, learn how to PK. (Well defend myself better moreso).. The only time I can practice my PvP skills is when the tournament worlds come out, as unfortunately, I don't want to risk all of my items, obtained as an ironman, learning how to PK/AntiPK more effectively with zero gain from it.

There is literally no problems here with the suggestion and I'd welcome something along these lines. However, I am not sure an NPC can be a good opponent on a long term basis, as there is only so much 'intelligence' an NPC can have in this sort of skill based, outwitting gameplay style.

It's more the fact that it giving people the opportunity to practice PVP'ing without actually risking death/losing their items to another player.

Theres allready such little risk in PVP'ing, the last thing we want is to remove more of it.

The long term aspect needs to be considered here. People don't want to go into the wilderness now because they're easy targets.. if they can practice and get better at that side of the game, then maybe they will eventually be more inclined to go into the wild.

For now, it won't change the amount of people in the wild, in the future, it will almost certainly increase numbers.

Thank you for the support! :)

I think Jagex can simulate a PKer using an NPC pretty accurately. I mean they have done more complicated things then that. Anyway, I would love to see this in game.
