It has become quite the nuisance to be labelled as trolls just coz Ive a different opinion to everyone else. Me and another user have gone through a lot with the community and it looks like we get attacked both on Forum help and in our threads. Im not saying Im upset that people reject my opinions. Thats fine. Its what the forums are for and im glad that theres discussion going from both sides - those that see the light in our ideals and those tht dont.

Im not okay though with attacks on Forum Help. I never use Forum Help coz its like running to mommy and daddy to ‘tell on people’ instead of dealing with things you dont like. The current problems with forum help and moderation review threads goes as follow:

1) you look childish by hiding behind your ‘parents’
2) it can kill discussion
3) in the real world when people talk, they are allowed to go off topic and discuss other things in idle chat. Moderating a daily friendly conversation between me and another player is like the police rushing into starbucks to arrest two mates who went off topic from their starting convo.
4) moderation review takes AGES before a mod actually, if ever, frees the thread. So even if thread is innocent, its no loner relevant to forums like recent game updates and may as well get unfairly relocked for grave bumping once revived. Again, kills discussion.

This is why i suggest a fair way to make the forums fair for all:

Introduce Unmoderated Forums

This is an option that allow posters to create unmoderated threads and posts. There is also an option to either go on normal or unmoderated reading mode.

Posters will be asked if they want the thread or post to be unmoderated when created. When unmoderated, Jagex and Fmods cannot see that thread or post. But nor will any poster who is on normal reading mode. To see unmoderated posts or threads players must turn on unmoderated mode.

Unmoderated threads and posts can be about anything normally thought unfit for forum rules. Thats because if posters get offended by such posts coz theyre too immature for grown up language etc they shiuldnt have unmoderated mode on.

Lets also add warnings to unmoderated mode as a safety measure: “You agree to see inappropriate or dangerous content by turning on unmoderated mode. You give up all rights to report unmoderated threads or posts. Jagex will not be responsible for any offence as a result from this.”

Of course if a thread or post is unfit for forums and is not unmoderated then posters can feel free to run to the mommy and daddy forum to report.

Looks like somebody didn't get the memo.

The internet has been declared an international safe space. Language that could be deemed offensive to anybody past, present and future is not permitted in public or private communication.

Hope this helps.

I really don't know if your idea would help. Personally I doubt I would bother making any unmoderated threads and most likely wouldn't turn on unmoderated browsing. My suspicion is that it would simply cause a lot of spammy threads and instead of more mature discussion taking place the opposite would in fact take place.

Just my two cents.

Unmoderated forums are only worthwhile when their users are capable of maturity.

The RSOF are not 4chan or Reddit. If you don't like that, go use alternative social media instead.

Well the unmoderated threads or posts comes in useful when two people want an off topic convo in the middle of a thread coz the topic made them think of something else. If you dont want unmoderated mode then thats fine. Its even better for the two people who may even feel better without other people cutting them short with forum help.

I have no issues with the forums being moderated, so long as it is done in an unbiased manner.

That means accepting that others may have a different opinion than you.

Allowing your own personal opinion or feelings to affect how you moderate is basically fascism.

Forcible suppression of opposition is one of the main objectives of fascism.

Fascism is bad.

As for unmoderated forums.... I can see it being both a good thing, and a bad thing.

I have a feeling that people would simply spam post all over any topics that they didn't agree with, simply because they know that their spam wouldn't be moderated.
