I have been thinking about this rework and the clue scroll sets and here are my thought, will TT kits be able to be added to +3 rune armor sets and rather than just trim kits, but also why not give the TT version set bonus to give players a second reason to use them as well, I think helm, top & legs would do, shield is debatable but for example:

rune (t) = set bonus: Tier 1 luck

rune (g) = set bonus: Tier 2 luck / also level 1 in free to play

Rune H1 to H5 mite give small hp or armor boost

god sets would keep there prayer boost

will you be able to keep items you create or mine after beta ends till full release?

like items created or ore is unavailable till full release but still kept in bank so not feeling as tho wasting time trying it and having to do it all over again..

If its like the last beta then no, it will be on seprate servers again

so as it currently is, Smithy, the Smithing pet is an XP based pet. meaning that the more xp you get, the better chances are of you getting the item as a drop. with the update the xp you get is in no way enough to get the pet in a reasonable amount of time or resources. I'm curious if the pet is going to be moved to a time based pet which is a smaller chance but we will be getting it more frequently, or if the modifier on the current drop formula going to be increased to stabilize the XP gap the update will give us?

Free-to-play Balancing & Content


Proposed Additions:

Tier 50 ľ Rune (tradable) ľ lvl 50 smith requirement
Tier 60 ľ Masterwork Rune (tradable) ľ lvl 70 smith requirement
Tier 62 ľ Upgraded Masterwork Rune (untradable, degradable) ľ lvl 90 smith requirement + requires essence (untradable rare drops from hellhounds only)
Can be fixed for a price (+ additional essence) from Bob, where price reduction correspond to smithing level

Pros:

+Gives F2Pers a taste of masterwork smithing for higher level smithers
+Somewhat exclusive to F2P as it is inefficient for mems to train smithing via tedious F2P masterwork items which are also weak (in mems)
+Gives F2Pers a taste of fixing degradable armor via Bob, who is already accessible in F2P
+Forces PvM in dangerous areas in order to keep Tier 62 armor, as fixing it also requires essence drops
+Allows for smithing xp rates to be more stabilized for F2P, otherwise smith xp will drop significantly from being able to smith lvl 99 items to only just lvl 50 items. Smith xp can be boosted for masterwork items, independent of tier.
+The game will now have 2 types of masterwork armor, ôrune tierö masterwork for F2P and ôelder rune tierö masterwork for members

Cons:

-Somewhat undoes the tier x = smithing level x ideology for simplification

This is our document of everything we can find that's linked to Mining & Smithing. Everything on this list needs to be at least looked at to check whether the implementation, design and balancing still make sense after the rework. Most of it will need minor fixes to make it work. Some of it will need completely redesigning.

We're posted this out so you can catch us in case we've missed anything. If you spot anything we've forgotten, please let us know!

With the Impending release of mining and smiting rework why not have legit 120 like slayer / dung/inv as its the perfect opportunity and very logical to do so

Sorry just read through the stuff to fix google page and didn't see something that probably should be in there.

In the player owned house in the skilling room the

Mithril armour - needs Smithing level of 68

Adamant armour - needs Smithing level of 88

Rune armour - needs Smithing level of 99

Just thought would post this just in case jagex forgot to change the levels required to build these armour's

Good job on update looks awesome so far :D

Tried beta three times.

Extremely disappointed. However, everyone cant be pleased by all game content. I haven't smithed (except beta in over 12 yrs). That is how I made my billions. Making rune plates when it was the best armour in game. Yup I am old.

Hopefully all suggestions will be reviewed but guessing with release in less than 10 days. Most will not be changed.

PS. still top 8k smither for not smithing in 12 yrs.


Looking forward to the brand new skill coming down the road.
