Jagex promised today on livestream that there will be no "new dead content". A lie, to be sure, as it seems an impossible task.

They did bring up remastering older content though, which was interesting. They also said that they might even remove more dead content citing Familiarisation as a possible example.

I wanted to see what people consider dead content and see what they could possibly remaster.

I submit these as my examples of dead content:

- Cremating Vyres/Columbarium Keys.
- Most minigames.
- Skill guilds, such as the Fishing guild.
- Many methods of training Skills.

What I want to see remastered:

- Temple Trekking/Burgh de Rott Ramble.
- Castle Wars.
- Guilds.
- Almost all skills.

What are your opinions? What would you consider dead content? What do you want to see remastered?

- Cremating Vyres/Columbarium Keys.
While the area under the monastery is sort of dead content, burning vyres, via the sunspear is one of the most popular methods of getting 200M prayer XP while training combat (camping vyres). Something that I hope doesn't get removed as I'm planning to camp those for 200M prayer as soon as the loot box can be added to the action bar...

Cremating Vyres with the Reforged Sunspear is the only aspect of the content I would keep as is. The rest I would change or remove entirely.

As for the OP that's askin for a lot to be remastered..all skills? Yikes, many people would quit.

Dead content is something very very few players do. However, scenery and content that provides lore of Gielinor are not dead because even players don't actively interact with them they passively add to the enjoyment of us players automatically.

My example of dead content will be traditional Wildy PvP. Obviously, it is antiquated content. The reason it is dead content is mostly because it is high risk and very little or no rewards. If we are going to remaster it, the most important thing is to do low or no risk or safedeath PvP. Of course, it will require an overhaul to the entire Wildy mechanics if it is to be remastered.

The other kind of dead content is dead cities like the Cave Goblin and Drawven Cities. To remaster the dead cities, we will need graphic overhauls to make them more modern and realistic. We also need better lore and new content there, say, mob/boss encounters similar to Demon Flash Mobs. A new boss won't hurt, of course. Then we may want to think about remastering the smaller things there like the drops, clues, etc.

The best thing to do for the wildy would be to prevent items being lost on death. Instead prior to entering the wildy, you pay 5x the death cost of the equipment you have upfront or are denied entry by any means. Should you die in the wildy, you forfeit that death cost, and will drop 4x the death cost on the floor for anyone to claim. Boom, you can now moderately take in expensive armour/weapons, have a decent chance to profit without an insane risk for doing so, and there's a gold sink to boot.

Wildy fixed.

The whole game seems dead to me. Except for bossing, merching, and afk skilling efficiently.
I don't know if anything can be done to change it.

I would like for more skills to have guilds and for existing ones to be more relevant.

What does it mean to "remaster skills", just a rework like mining and smithing got?
I saw it mentioned that more skills were going to be raised to 120. I don't know if I like that idea unless all skills level the same way as Invention. That way skills could go to 150. I guess that won't happen since many of us would lose 99's (it wouldn't bother me)
The point of the journey is not to arrive.

tbh the best way to fix the wildy is to remove PvP and partially nerf anything that's 'OP' for compensation - no one PKs, and if there really are 3 people in the game who want to they can just use the red portal in Clan Wars for their skull tricking and luring pro strats

there's tons of potential to revitalize the wilderness (I mean literally revitalize, like a World Event dedicated to regrowing trees and plants and relocating wildlife, etc.) in the 6th age - why not take charge and just axe the whole 'haha I killed someone unarmed at [insert skilling location here]'

no one killing other players in the wilderness is there for PvP, they're there to grief people who don't even want to be there in the first place

also remove warbands, those should never have existed in the first place - shame!
