If it harvests uselessly small amount of gp, its an useless update.

If it harvests an useful amount of gp, it just adds to inflation.

I dont think its a smart update....

even if you get a half a bil drop form a boss, it doesnt add any gp to the game: the gp you gain by selling the dormant sos is made with normal money making methods.

ALCING DOESNT ADD GP: it is the gp made with salvages from slayer/bossing (/mining/smithing [-when elder rune])

money tree pumping money into the game does not promote any other production chain except the acquiring of the seed ... seeds will be high af price at start, but if the tree doesnt die when harvested, the seed will eventually fall in price ... this will result in just trees pumping gp into the game.

ok I calmed down about this already. ready to wait on how much it'll harvest.

but would be nice to hear more speculation about the subject since I'm happy about all other updates, this one just doesnt feel like a good one.

They said itíd take a very long time to grow and the seed will presumably be very rare. Alchables have a much greater impact on inflation than I think this could -unless of course itís a ludicrous amount of gp. Even worse was coinshare which we are still feeling the effect of to this day. But as you note, we donít know enough to make a verdict.

But tbh I donít see it being a lot. No worse than alching a few rune items everyday. So itís doubtful itíll have a significant impact.

And it might even be a nice addition. Who knows?

Isn't the wishing well bush already a money tree?

It was. Now it isn't.
Never uses treasure hunter keys. Never buys runecoins or bonds. Never pays extra for 'Premier' status or passes. Never will.

I agree with this!
Been thinking about this bush since the first time I saw the Money Tree concept.

And yet the bush gets removed. I don't get why introduce something just as similar if the wishing well bush didn't work out.

I didn't even know about the Wishing Well Bush.

However, looking it up, the reason it was removed was because, naturally enough for a bush, it gave seeds as one of its most major rewards. And it automatically balanced the size of its rewards of seeds against the value of the seed.

So if it started driving down the value of a particular seed by producing too many of them, to keep up the value of the reward, it would produce even more!

Obviously, that's not going to be a problem with a tree that just rewards money, and in fixed amounts. So it's not likely to unbalance the game any more than the other ways to make money in the game.

Instead, it's just a little humorous touch: in RuneScape, money does grow on trees! I wouldn't worry.
