So i was banned about 2-3 years ago for botting. After being banned i quit runescape as they turned my username to a #XXXXXXXXXX account. And the account hasnt been used since because of this. I am the sole owner of the account. So recently I wanted to go back into playing runescape and found out that I could appeal my account from the ban that I had on it. I took the chance to recover my account because I had already had an account that has been grinded, and I had various items in the game that took me awhile to acquire, so i didnt have to start at ground zero again. I have learned my lesson that botting is cheating and such and wont do it ever again. Now when I my appeal request came back I got my account back and noticed my #XXXXXXXXXX name had been removed to the name i have now. But now my bank is completely empty with my items that i had grinded out missing, and my account holding weird items that i strictly remember that i wasnt holding at the time of my ban. My bank pin had been removed as well. But when i initially logged in after the appeal it required my authenticator that i had set which i still had (because I use authenticator for other google services). Now in the email that jagex had sent me telling me that my appeal was approved they said this, "After a comprehensive review of this account, we identified a period of unusual activity around the time of the offence. As a result, we've removed any offences which occurred during this time as we believe they were not committed by the creator of this account.".... Now if my account was banned and i had complete ownership up until i appealed the account, how did someone else use my account or something? I just want to know what is going on because it does not make sense to me.

If it seemed like someone was in your account, I highly suggest scanning your computer for virus just in case as well as securing your account such as turning your authenticator on and setting up a bank PIN.

As for everything else, only Jagex is able to answer how someone got into your account.

It sounds to me like you have logged into another of your accounts - and this one was banned too!
How many Runescape accounts have you had over the years? (don't answer here)

Why don't you try the tools in the Forgotten login support page to see if you can turn up your other accounts.
It is possible the account you are thinking about is still banned and not recovered yet.

In that case, both the response to the ban appeal and the change in items on the account indicate that a hijacker was using the account at the time it was banned.

Have you checked both versions of the game? (RS3 and OSRS)
Maybe you were active in one version and a hijacker was active in the other.

I know I was the one who received the ban because I was on the account on OSRS when it happened... I remember I was forced logged out thinking I had disconnected, and when i tried logging back in it said my account was banned. I then went to my account profile on runescape.com and noticed that I was permanently banned. A day later my irl friend showed me a screen shot of my #XXXXXXXXXX username and that is what made me ragequit OSRS. I appreciate you taking the time to help me get to the bottom of this, but I feel like this is a "special" case. My account had been appealed a few days ago, and it has been bothering me ever since, which is why i posted on the forums. I would have contacted jagex directly regarding the issue but the email they used to email me says they can't receive incoming emails.

So, you did not set the 'ivipy7943' name on your account?

I can flag your account for a check but would you please try the 'Forgotten Login' support page first with this navigation: Still stuck? -> No -> Yes -> Email my login
And post back - don't tell me your login/s but tell me if more than one account login is emailed to you.
