for a long time I had a feeling something was wrong with the music in this game:
despite having my audio settings completely maxed, as well as maxed speaker volume, - the music sounded weak, ambient, barely alive.

it was strange to me because I remember the times of RS2 when the music sounded crisp, strong and took a central stange during gameplay.

and, turns out, those memories were RIGHT. I tried playing OSRS, and the music sounded crisp and strong, just like I remembered it.

so wtf happened to RS3 music? why does it sound so bad? who thought this is a good idea? no wonder OSRS is more popular, it doesn't feel empty and soulless like RS3, which is really sad.

please fix this ASAP

Are you deaf? RS2 (and probably OS) used MIDI, Jagex actually records live instruments for RS3's music tracks now.

That's the equivalent of saying this (play the site version - you'll need GP for the downloadable version):

is better than the original, played by real instruments version:

Not sure if you are trolling or you are serious here.

The RS3 music is the best out there and has updates quite often.

If you can't hear it right then I suggest you either get a dedicated sound card and better speakers or see an ENT specialist as you are going deaf.

Gotta' agree with the bandwagon here. The audio Jagex releases is certainly pretty relaxing and professionally done. I can understand how not everyone can appreciate it, though. Bummer.

Players control their settings of their audio settings and their preferences.

My grandfather loves Elvis and the Beetles but certainly they are not for everybody.

Judging from the reactions of the posts from this thread, I think most users have an exact opposite feeling to OP's. I guess perhaps OP is overwhelmed by the size of the RS3 music tracks comparing to OSRS's tiny collection:

"Tuesday 1 st August 2017, Cambridge, UK - Jagex has racked up a trio of Guinness World Records for its iconic MMORPG RuneScape, namely:

Most original pieces of music in a videogame (including expansions), which now stands at 1,198

Most users of an MMO videogame, which as of 25 th July 2017 was 254,994,744
Most prolifically updated MMORPG videogame, at 1,014 updates."

That's right. Perhaps "most original" pieces of music are not for everybody, maybe not for OP neither?

The other thing is OP doesn't seem to have unlocked any RS3 places and music. Perhaps if he plays more RS3, complete more quests and unlock more music tracks, he will have a very different opinion. :)
