Anyone know why none of my items were protected while in the wilderness? I was doing a lava strykewyrm assignment and got pk’d twice. Both times I had my 3 items selected, ate a fury shark, and used protect item prayer but none of my items were saved. Did I do something wrong or something I didn’t do? I’m not upset or anything as I knew there was a risk, I’m just kind of confused on why nothing was saved.
Yeah, I’m not sure. The only time I go into the wilderness is for slayer assignment. What trick nullifies any protection of items? It seems stupid to even have anything like that in the game. Why even include any item protection abilities if a PK’er and just ignore it.
There is a bug with item protection that pkers abuse to get ur items even if u protect and not skulled. And there's a possibility that the pker waited a minute for ur fury shark's protect item effect to vanish.
1. Attacker has a friend 2. Attacker attacks you and gets skulled or may already be skulled 3. Friends who is not skulled stands under attacker 4. Thereafter your AOE attacks friend who is not skulled and you get skulled in the process.
I just blocked Lava Strykewyrm with slayer points. To me, it was not worth it as it takes to long to complete the task and involves risk.
I do think they fixed the a familiar being hit with AOE as I watched a friend try it and she could not get the other person to skull.
It is a good idea not to use AOE's when another player approaches you in the wild.

There were 2 people each time, the one not having any gear so it makes sense that I accidentally clicked on him. Who knows lol now I just take royal d hide and crossbow and when ever someone comes I just scatter my ashes and eat all of my food. Waste a bit of their time haha
In fact, you don't even need to click on the friend to get skulled. Your AOE simply need to hit friend who is not skulled. Usually, the attacker will give 50% of their take to their friend to skulled you.
You are 99% safe, if you follow my advice above.
You are 99.9% safe, if you follow my advice and review the kept on death screen prior to going out to the wild.
