I have been told that there is a spell that shows all of your crop growth stages. However, I'll leave this up as I still find the idea interesting! Hope you guys do too..

Farmers' Clock is a Farming tool obtained after the completion of
Around the Realm
(Quest idea coming soon). They can either be worn as a necklace or placed in your inventory. This item allows you to calculate how long you have until your herbs, allotments, flowers and trees are completely grown. It can be upgraded to a
Farmers' Clock (i)
.

Activating your Farmers' Clock

Right-clicking your Farmer's Clock gives you the option to cast the spell
Farm o' Time
(requires 55 Magic), which lasts for 16 minutes. During this time, your Farmers' Clock will take note of everything you plant and calculate when they will be completely grown. The Clock will only take note of crops that you plant within the 16 minute activation period. There is a cooldown of 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Receiving crop times using the Farmers' Clock

Right-clicking your Farmer's Clock gives you the option to
Receive crop times
. This option cannot be selected during the spell activation period. A scroll named
Crop Times
will be placed in your inventory, which will display the exact time (Server time) that your crops will be fully grown. To be automatically notified when they are done, you will have to upgrade your Farmers' Clock to a Farmers' Clock (i).

Farmers' Clock (i)

Farmers' Clock (i) can be created by combining a Farmers' Clock with an Amulet of Glory and 10 of each seed in Gielinor. This item will notify you when your herbs are diseased or dead, as well as automatically notify you once your crops are completely grown (the basic Farmers' Clock does not automatically notify you).

The time need to grow something is actually a but variable and inpredicatble if planted at the wrong time.
If it would be more predictable, it would be easier to use the clock on your computer as it can do several countdowns at the same time I believe and gives you a message when one hits zero.
The RS Wiki needs a hand, and Bwian's will gladly take the rest of your body!

This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

That's the point in Farmers' Clock. You don't have to calculate everything yourself, it's an automated timing system.

I like the idea a lot, but they would need to fix the farming timers first in RS3 so the clock could come into play reasonably.

But basically quite a bit of your suggested functionality sounds like the remote farm lunar spell - which might deserve to be updated to work like geomancy in OSRS though.

I'd expand this idea to POF as well so we can see the time to the next growth stage.

This is something I'd love to have implemented into RS3. I usually check to see if my animals have bred during my herb run but I'd love to have an automatic timing system for this!

There's no calculating, you just set the time to the time needed for a certain crop (use the Wiki for that), give the timer the name of the crop, and do that for every crop you use. After the timer runs out, it starts back at the beginning, waiting to be started again. Just a matter of clicking the right timer.
