Hiya

much to comment on. I will start at page 1 and go through every post.:)

I don't think handing-out xp through forum activity will be the answer. It is a wrong solution to the problem.

This may be one answer. A better user experience within the forums and the forums being a place where you can interact with many Jmods might be an answer. But as you have stated (I did not quote that, look it up if you are interested) every forum update costs money. And there is no return on investment in this case. Mainly because you are trying to get people onto the forums that already have had interaction with Jagex and many other players.

Honestly, if Jagex was doing it that way they had to compete with social media. This is not a good solution and in a way, it's a vicious cycle. Because the forums are not updated and Jagex is elsewhere players go elsewhere. Because players aren't on the forums Jagex doesn't use them as a primary way of communication and does not update the forums.

We need to break the cycle. And the ways I have suggested are not really an update to the forum software. Since updating the forum software is at this point where no one can say for sure if it brings (many) users not smart for a business in my eyes. But making more users join through a connection between game and forums, that would be nice. And when the users are there then the forums are worth an update ;).

To get the users needed to make a forum update Jagex' priority there has to be some sacrifice in my eyes. Either Reddit losing much Jmod support or also new spammers joining.

I think Social Media should promote the website by doing what it does on Youtube or Twitter, in the Runescape Forum and Website instead.

Im trying to say that all videos and streamers and uploaders should have the option to come here. That also means to remaster the freakin... software here in the forums.

And.... If you CUT OFF all comments, replies and such on Social Medias like youtube and reddit or twitter and you start limiting your uploads there and increasing them in here it will bribe and force players to use this site entirely for

Sacrifices are NOT inevitable :)

This is a fantastic idea. Sadly it will not be done I guess. Videos need a lot of storage and it's way easier for Jagex to let Youtube provide that storage and then it's always easier to show someone a youtube video than giving someone a link to a special gaming website.

I saw you edited your posts on page 1, please don't do that. I'd have liked to comment on them. Please also read my comment directed at Louiellen since it may bring up what I think and why I'm so much going for rewards or why I think sacrifice is needed. And by the way - realizing your idea means sacrificing the youtube promotion ;) .

And you are right - we are trying to figure out something. Don't let Louiellen stop you. She's just a bit frustrated... ^_^

And please stay in my thread :). You pushed the discussion with your ideas. You are doing well, don't let different points of view change your willingness to contribute.

Cheers

Hid some off-topic comments.

Southeaster, you have been warned before about seeking out a certain user in threads and being purposefully antagonistic. Please do not derail another thread with personal arguments.

As FMods have suggested, if you have any problems in terms of moderation, take them to the Forum Moderation Review threads, and if your problems with FMods are personal, then they have no place in this thread or on the FMR.

I'd kindly ask everyone to refrain from steering the thread down this path, and to focus on the OT.

Thank you for your understanding.

JMods will not leave Social Media while the forums are so hard for them to access. They have mentioned multiple times that due to security measures they can only access the forums on their JMod accounts while in the office, with the exception of Mod Lee who has a special laptop provided by Jagex allowing him to work from the United States.

The forums need to be drastically updated and changed before anything else is considered.

They could easily make accounts such as Lmods are soon to have for there at home PC. Jmods that use other media accounts aren't using their jmod accounts, they are separate accounts made for the platform they are using. It's just bs excuse not to use the RSOF, they could have easily made accounts for Jmods exclusively for RSOF. Which would, in turn, bring more players in.

Well to do that, it would require work from the Web Team to create specific staff accounts that can be accessed from home.

As for giving JMods LMod accounts to use outside of the office, then they're restricted from certain features (such as FMR, HLF, CLF, and anything else I may not know about). Also - to create LMod accounts for all staff interested in using the forums outside of the office would probably take a lot of man power. I'm sure it's not as simple as a JMod going to a specific account creation page and creating their own LMod account. I'd suspect either CM or CS would have to create special accounts for them.

Once they have the Lmods up and running they will already have the coding done, so it wouldn't take much to add new accounts for Jmods that want to use the forums and in time if they need more options then the dev can work on more coding for this - once it's done, it's available for all. Or give Jmods normal accounts with a gold ring so they can communicate with us as easily as they do on other media.

Hiya,

not a bad suggestion. Maybe LMod accounts for Jmods when their work is done would help. I mean if I was a JMod I wouldn't want to do forum moderation review in my free time but posting about something interesting or replying to a for me interesting thread could be possible :).

At this point, I have to admit I'm glad about any suggestions. But I'd love to see it discussed if the forums need rewards or if there should be some sort of Twitter or Reddit limit.
