It seems silly not to let Ironmen be able to buy cosmetic tokens once in ge, as well as partake in this mail box event. We've seen your able to modify loot tables for us in the past. This event is 99% cosmetic gear. You could have easily edited the drop table for us to only obtain the stamps so we could get the rings. Now we areSOL? Could we please include us in future FashionScape updates?

(I could not find a suitable place to put this, if it needs to be moved could you please move this, thanks.)

ironman have limits. you should be aware of this its stated when created the account.

if unlocking these items is included in activity ironman cant partake then its not a case of jagex hate hate "ironfashion" its a case of your own limits set by you which you accepted as a apart of the account build.

I'd be inclined to disagree, considering it'd just be a matter of "ironmen can't earn this outside of spending X GP on the G.E and they're purely cosmetic items.

If any of the suggested items gave benefits then definitely not but all of these token items and overrides are cosmetic in nature and have no reason to not be offered to IM as a one-off purchase on the G.E.

just because they are purely cosmetic holds nothing on what ironmen can do and cant do. there is no exception whether it effects gameplay or not

Jagex didn't just pick the rules governing Ironman accounts at random.

The whole rationale behind an Ironman account is that players with such accounts are playing the game in a more realistic manner - as heroes who stand out in a world filled with ordinary people. So they sell items at the general stores, buy items from NPCs, or get them as drops themselves... not trading in the GE for them with thousands of other heroes of equal stature.

Thus, in some cases, cosmetic items have been excluded from the restriction for promotional events otherwise off-limits to Ironman accounts.

So I think the OP's question is entirely legitimate.

However, I also think there's an answer to it. This particular event, the Postie Pete event, awards prizes almost all of which are items with an in-game effect. There are some rare prizes which are cosmetic, specifically the transformation rings, but basically you would be opening hundreds of parcels with nothing in them to get one of those.

So in this case, making an exception for cosmetics would have led to a rather silly event for Ironmen, so it wasn't seen as worth the trouble.

I don't think irons should be able to buy cosmetics from GE, as they shouldn't be able to trade with other players

With that said though, I would like to see it reworked so that irons can get cosmetics through the game, as long as they are exactly that: Cosmetic and offer no xp bonuses/other bonuses

Exactly. I'm not really asking to change the mechanics as being able to trade other people for the items. The suggestion to be able to Buy them off the g/e would only allow us to buy them, never sell, and only 1, which would be instantly used once it has entered our inventory.

I would much rather be able to earn these cosmetics in game, never receiving any items/gp/xp. Purely cosmetic gains.

I can spend real money to get cosmetics, but not aloud to spend In-game currency for the same type of cosmetic, just a different skin.

I get that HCIM have account limits, But denying cosmetics on one side, but not the other seems like a silly limitation.

I guess it wouldn't hurt if ironmen were just to receive stamps and with the default chance cosmetics. If the parcel would roll something but a transmogrification ring, a pet or one of the wearable cosmetics it simply should award nothing else. Ironmen shouldn't get improved odds to get the exclusive rewards after all.

As for tokens - if they're just buyable - why not? Might even help to boost their value.

Probably shouldn't be able to buy tokens from other players, but I could see adding a way for Ironman players to buy them for GE price (maybe from the Ironman plaque?). Would mean Ironman money isn't entering the economy (nor would it crash the market for non-IM players) while giving them a way to get the cosmetics they want. The justification could be that they fell off the back of a metaphorical truck and are too "hot" to sell on the open market.

I'd also support an IM drop table for stuff like Parcels when it comes to events with non-tradeable cosmetics, so that no gameplay affecting items can be earned while giving them the same chance at the purely cosmetic stuff as everyone else. In the case of Parcels, maybe that means only dropping a Parcel if they would have gotten one with a cosmetic reward anyway (ie. basically rolling the same odds the non-IMs roll to determine loot, and if you roll what would have been coins or a star/lamp, too bad, no parcel for you).

Either way, fully support letting the IMs get cosmetics, in whatever form that takes. Just because they're playing what's basically hard mode doesn't mean they shouldn't be able to look cool doing it.
