How lucky can you get? Jagex was literally treading water in order to keep this game runescape alive after release of eoc. Eventually conceding to allow “old runescape” run as what was supposed to be an after thought mainly to appease “old heads” that still wanted that nostalgia. But fast forward a few years since “old RuneScape’s” release its their biggest game. Bigger than the “main game” as far as active players as the bulk of the players play on it. I just find it amazing as a long time Runescape member, who quit after eoc came out and has struggled to come back ever since only to find that the after thought “old RuneScape” is now the main stay lol. Im sorry I just had to make a post about it, because to me that’s what appears to have happened.

It is important to distinguish between "players" and "bots".

The bulk of the bots play on OSRS.

According to the latest ban statistics, in a one week period, there were around 6k bots banned in RS3, compared to over 100k bots banned in OSRS.

Don't be fooled by falsely inflated numbers on the player counters. _

It's only logical that the most popular game has the most bots. Besides that, bots are mostly after 2 things;
- Getting combat levels up for PKing
- GP through skilling
RS3 doesn't have active PKing so that leaves out the first reason. GP in OSRS has much more value than in RS3, so even if someone wanted RS3 GP they're better off having a bot in OSRS and transfering the GP. So in that sense, RS3 just isn't attractive to bots.
But it can't be denied that even without the bots, OSRS has still become the bigger game. The release of OSRS mobile alone led to an increase of 40K online players. Now I doubt people would bot on a mobile device, but I could be wrong. The last time RS3 was consistently having a total of 40K players online was back in late 2016.

Considering OSRS bans a lot more bots while the cursed energy bot army is running free, I wouldn't say OSRS has that much of a poorer anti-bot system.

Why is it that OSRS players constantly belittle RS3 players.

Are they Jealous of something?

I mean its ALL Runescape.

Everyone should just play their version and love RS and dont hate on
it.

I have yet to see an RS3 player Hate on OSRS. maybe we should start. The richest person is not who has the most. It is who Needs the least.
